    Maya ( The CEO of The Doux) she said stylers cannot give you moisture, that comes from the shampoo step. Her products are specifically formulate to be a one and done or you can use two products to get the desired results your looking (mostly with Mousse Deff). Her formulas are not for consumers who want instant gratification products. Her products rely heavily on your hair being moisturized from inside out, not outside in. Basically, if your hair is dry after you used The Doux products, it was dry before you used them. I hate to admit it, but it is true. It took 4 months for me to use Mousse Deff on its own. I had to used it on top of UFD because my hair was dehydrated. I returned Big Poppa because I felt it wasn't fair to judge a product based on my hair's dehydration. I recently repurchased Big Poppa to see if it gives me the desired look I want to accomplish. I plan on using it this weekend.

      ❤️ this comment!! I used the big poppa gel on top of Uncle Funkys Daughter Curly Magic for my wash and go’s and they turn out beautiful every time. It took me a while to understand my hair. Two of the biggest changes I made was making sure to shampoo the hair well. And I stopped using oils. Changed my life. 🤗 I know neither one is popular in the natural hair community but it made such a difference. Oh there’s one more thing, I apply the styling products on soaking wet hair while in the shower. My hair loves this process. It takes on the stylers so well when the hair is really wet. And believe it or not the hair stops dripping once the products are on the hair. It’s like magic.

    I'm the same way. My hair in the back half gets super defined and clumped with ANYTHING I use. That top half just does some different stuff, but I love both sides of the family...lol

    Sib, this is EXACTLY what my hair has been doing lately--looks good but DRY AS HELL!!! I don't know what's happened to my hair unless my December annual flat iron has completely changed me to a High-Po natural! I'm on a search for new stuff as well since Mane Choice changed their formulas. My first attempt was actually with the Melanin, and my hair aint like that either, looked good but dry in four days. Next was Naturalicious--one day. I haven't even taken my twists out from last Friday's wash (Soulicious rice buttah shampoo, Aunt Jackie's Leave-In, As I Am Twist Cream) 'cause I'm scared I'ma have to wash my hair AGAIN this week. Look forward to following your quest!

    Definitely looks gorgeous as usual! It could be your water too. Camille Rose never fails me! My favorite styler is the aloe whipped gel! I love most of her products! The honey leave in is AMAZING and plays well though you may have a bit of a learning curve figuring out what amount works best for your hair! TGIN works well though I usually have to retwist. Adwoa Is good as too!

    Ok, so most of the times it's not the products we use, it's the state that our hair is in. If your hair is dehydrated, this could be the main reason why you're feeling like products aren't working anymore, or it's hard to find ones that work anymore.

  • @jeanangulo-wilson3333

    I purchased the Mousse Def kit and I felt the same way. My hair was dry as hell after it dried. I've tried Melanin and I love it so far. I've tried all 4 products and I think I'm just going to stick to that. I did learn that some products do not like my colored hair AT ALL, so that could be some of the issue, for me, with Mousse Def, but I doubt it.

  • @pandajane718
    @pandajane718 Před 2 lety +2

    There is a lot of protein in both the gel and mousse so that may explain the dry feeling.

    It has keratin in it, so if you are sensitive to protein that could be why it's dry.

    OMG! FINALLY, SOMEONE ELSE THAT HAD THE SAME RESULTS AS ME! My hair totally dried out..i mean seriously, it was bone dry. I keep trying different iterations and combinations, but these products do not work for me. My hair is dyed, so I hear that might be the issue. But they should say that on the products, that it's not for color treated hair. I wanted to love it, but I didn't! 😥

    I didn't like this gel when I first time using it. The hair need to be soaking wet so I did it in the shower. I've use it with a leave it (kinky curly knot today ) and without it. I has a lot of protéin like the mousse. Maybe that's where the de dryness come from'. It's getting difficult to find products of different brands that work’well together

    Have you thought about making your sections smaller? I don’t think you need more gel , just take one of your 4 sessions and with your index finger section off and then put your product in. Your hair is growing out fast.

  • @dontbringsandtothebeach

    I love the mousse. I just used it with the pop lock gel in that line. I want to get the big poppa gel. Also try to put a leave in and oil so it won’t have the dry feeling.

    I love big hair. Your hair came out looking Gorg. The bigger the hair, the better. Those products, the mousse and gel, are great for about 2-3 days. Then it's a wrap. Like your results, it left my hair dry after 2-3 days. I would stick to the products that work for you. For me, I will continue to use Blue Magic Grease and the Wetline Gel to get a long-lasting wash n go and big hair.
