To be fair, stats wise, Marcus wasn’t bad. At least at the college level. He had a positive box +/-, so he was at least an above average college player. Bronny technically did too (0.7 vs 0.9 for Marcus), but a shorter career and it was all defense. And Marcus never even made an attempt to go pro, let alone getting drafted

I'm not going to go as far as to say he's taking someone else's spot because let's be real here most second-round 55th overall picks barely play more than a handful of games in the league and a lot more never step foot on an NBA floor. They basically gave the kid the money LeBron left on the table. Anybody else that got drafted in that spot, especially this year would've ended up in the G-League where Bronny will ultimately end up.

@@RurbanWalker Second-round draft picks don't get guaranteed money or contracts my guy. Your agent has to find you a deal with teams that showed interest and work out a deal. This is how teams got burned in the past for not extending second-round or undrafted players after they had breakout seasons. This happens across all sports. NO other second-rounder was going to get the deal Bronny got or anything close. That spot was going to be a non-guaranteed 2-way deal at best. On top of that the Lakers would have traded that pick in hopes of leaving space for a league-minimum vet.

Well, from what I’ve seen in college and summer league, Bronny isn’t really a promising young talent. But, I do feel for him, he should have never been put in this situation by his father’s ego. Sad to see anyone go down through what Bronny is going through, the embarrassment must be hard on the kid. We can only hope the $$ might make it worth it. What scares me is that LeBron may actually force the Lakers to use Bronny in real NBA games, which would be a travesty for paying customers. There are so many young players that never get the chance in the NBA and have to go overseas to continue to play. I think that I played against better players than Bronny in Junior College. You are right about people in main stream media like Paul Pierce & Skip Bayless scared to say anything negative about this kid. The best one I’ve heard was actually by Pierce, Skip & Keyshawn who indicated that the lack of talent surrounding Bronny is what is hurting Bronny James. Bottom line is Bronny is not a professional basketball player & the Lakers franchise will look ridiculously stupid the more they play this kid. This kid has the world at his feet and I wish him nothing but the best but anyone who has watched any basketball can clearly see that this kid is not a professional basketball player.
