Hi there! I used American Buttercream, because I wanted to keep this recipe quick and easy, however feel free to use your favorite buttercream recipe! Also I think compound chocolate would be a little too hard to bite into! However if you were serving these on a hot day, after you fill the molds with buttercream and chilled them, you could certainly dip the tops in tempered chocolate to keep the buttercream more stable!

Hi there!! Excellent question!!! 👏🏽 I filled the doughnut molds with American Buttercream, then drizzled with melted semi sweet chocolate!
