This was my highest so far. If you ask if this can go even further, I'll say yes. The damage dealt by this showcase crab is heavily dependent on your RNG. In this video, maybe my damage could have been even higher if I could have gotten Noelle's tenacity earlier and had better dice of course.

@@rbin2364 Ganyu is a great counter tbh but the problem is that you gotta survive their attacks while trying to kill the crab when he's not on field... I've been against a beidou and Candace build and tbh I could only kill the crab when my ganyu ended up being 1hp...it would be better to run some kind of hyperconduct and electrocution team because it's easier to spread the DMG between your characters
Bennett, electro cube, dvalin deck is nice too against it.
@@Cappuccino_xoxo hmm I'd say it's correct, cuz you would still do quite some DMG to the other characters that are feeding the crab...but it's not doing DMG to the crab itself...but it's surely also a good way to exploit the fact that the opponent is restricting them self from doing reactions and agro...so it sounds like it would just end the battle quick enough to the point where they won't be able to build the crab...

In an actual game, the crab yoinks your other character's shields so they end up dying much faster before they can generate more shields for the crab. The crab doesn't offer much as an anchor aside from the ability to overshield and his burst that does damage equal to his shields. Its elemental skill is 2 Pyro damage at most and it doesn't have the ability to equip weapons to increase it which makes it subpar compared to other abilities. It can only nuke a character every 3 actions at most and the nuke becomes weaker as it takes damage.
Basically, unless your 2 other characters supporting the crab are capable of killing at least one of the opponents characters, your crab is gonna have to do a lot of clean-up and it gets progressively worse at doing that as the opponent is capable of using most of their team to do some heavy hitting combos to scrape off good chunks of your crab's shields.
Like, in a normal game, someone like Layla would generate 2 shields and maybe take a 3 damage hit, leaving her at 9 HP which is pretty healthy. With crab, she takes the full hit, leaving her at 7 HP which is already pretty uncomfortable. Shield abilities also have reduced damage compared to other abilities so which makes doing anything to disrupt your opponent with your supporting characters hard.
I think the crab is in a fine spot balance-wise, it forces you to change your gameplan into one that focuses on gunning down the Crab's supports before they generate too many shields for it. You can see the opponent's gameplan from a mile away if they're running crab.

in the past I've seen like 50 dmg max and people goes like "OMG so much dmg" but this is different on another whole level... I didn't think 3digit dmg is even possible. man, that crab is broken. I'm surprised this thing didn't get nerfed immediately...
Recently, they just nerfed Fremi card and Adjusting Yelan. Like bruh, balancing in middle patch are unexpected. Weird they leave crab without nothing

someone tried this on me in EU. it was my first time encountering a deck like that, we lasted until 12 rounds and until we had no cards left because i refused to die 😭

@@DarkLordMorningstar yep, you just make use of the dice and cards you have left. i was using a neuvi deck, so i was pretty lucky to survive (for a while) using his normal attacks

People saying this is meta, this needs to be nerfed, etc really don't know how to play TCG it seems.
Crab strategy relies too much on the two supporting characters on the side providing constant shields through the Millelith artifacts and their shields. But remember, any shield that they put on does not go on the characters meaning these two side characters are EXTREMELY vulnerable.
So for people who don't know there are three main ways you can deal with crab.
1. Piercing damage. This is obvious but Ganyu alone solos this entire deck. The entire deck relies on ramping up the crab by putting him as standby first before moving onto him. Meaning -2 per spreadshot from Ganyu, do it 3 times and the entire deck falls apart and this doesn't even include her use of talent. Equip talent and now its only 2 shots needed.
"But the opponent is not stupid, he will move onto the crab when it takes too much damage to nullify the pierce or they can heal up."
Yeah but you're not playing Ganyu solo either are you? Bring in Keqing for superconduct, Xingqiu for freeze and that crab player has nowhere to run. He moves onto the crab, you freeze it. He moves onto the sides, superconduct+AoE spread arrow. And both bursts of Ganyu and Keqing pierces.
2. AoE, AoE, AoE. There is a reason why this crab won't be meta and because Mona, Wanderer and Eula decks will rofl-stomp it. Heck it can even be Mona, Sayu, Eula and its still the same. Capitalise on the fact that this crab needs 3+ rounds to come online and you can kill the heck out of both side characters and swirl its entire team back and forth over.
Oh did I mention Eula with WGS ALWAYS will deal max damage on the crab AND freeze it as well?
3. Pure damage. Too many shields? No problem. Bennett+Electo Hypo decks (as seen here czcams.com/video/HmupfMsGnHc/video.html) crush the crab decks to a roe. Electro Hypo with Bennett's ult buff supplies +2 damage on every hit making its total damage from a mere five dice go from 7 to a a whooping 13!
And all you need to do is draw either Stormterror lair or Bennett's talent card for this to work.
Since crab deck always belongs to stall deck, running aggro are pretty good againts this crab. Ganyu seems a bit struggle if opponents switch to crab after we switch to Ganyu. Usually, i'm choosing Mona, Eula, and Sayu for denying crab and hit big damage with Sayu and WGS cuz one skill can deal up to 9 dmg and that's quite lot. I never seen people using AOE or piercing damage againts crab, except Faruzan Danemo. Faruzan Danemo need to get highrolled when againts this crab otherwise get stalled and dies gradually. Benny Cube are good idea for matchup with crab, But in Tournament is likely we don't know opp deck. So, i'm thinking which deck can stand againts crab with his stall and ton of shield and Faruzan fatui with her aggro play. I'm only thinking of to play Mona, Sayu, and Eula for now. Having freeze reaction and can equip WGS are great combo to deal with.
Appropriate that it's a crab, the animal associated with "cancer" in astrology. You even have an astrologist as one of the characters to strengthen that reference.

how practical is this deck in a real match? i'd like to try it honestly
character cards are fine, but for a real match you obv need to remake the action cards… I’d say get a Wolf’s Gravestone for Noelle because now crab is going to be everywhere and WG’s passive allows you to kill those 294782x shields of your possibly crab opponent wayyy faster. Other than that u can just build it your own way
No, All of this deck only mean for maximize crab burst. Although you can replace some cards in the decklist first to make it work in regular duels

After placing Taroumaru, you gain 4 cards "Taroumaru savings" then distribute them to your deck evenly. Each card giving you one omni for free. After playing 2 "Taroumaru savings", if taroumaru still on your support zone then he'll provide summon for free. It'll deal 2 physical damage with 2 usage

actually, i’m pretty sure it is to utilize the joyous celebration card to get a bloom core for the opposing side, paired with kokomi’s and barbara’s self hydro application
yup, at about the 12 minute mark, you can see the bloom core being created.
Is the opponent someone you knew? Because they made some very questionable choices with just recasting Kokomo’s skill over and over despite it actually doing nothing at that point.

Just break through his shield. In normal game, This is unlikely to happen, at most it will only hit tens, no more than that. One of my favourite counter for this crab is Sayu with WGS cuz crab already below 7 and since Sayu have 2 times attacking with her skill, you can take effect of WGS 2 times in one skill
