Out of all the RE models, this is the one that really appeals to me. If I got one, I'd spend another $1k and do a belt drive conversion. And I'd put on some luggage.

@@FULLPELTAdventures I heard a rumour that there will be a 650 Classic, a 650 Bullet and a 650 Scrambler in due course. If that was the case, I'd pick a Classic sight unseen, then it would be interesting to compare the Shotgun with the Bullet. Did I mention that I prefer a 650 Classic?

Hi Steven, Yeah it's a great Dealership, very friendly. Test ride a few of the Royal Enfield bikes, to see if they are the bike for you. the 650's are reliable bikes, and the new Himalayan 450 is worth a look if you want to do some offroad stuff. Regards FPPete.

Great review, thank. BTW your fuel consumption calc was wrong as when you first filled up it was on the side stand, and it can take more fuel when its level i.e. on center stand.

I was goimg to buy one until I see there only available with the non chrome spoked rims, black frame, black engine, black gearbox and black exhaust.
I was hoping they'd be like my black and cream 2020 Classic 500.
You never know with Royal Enfield, they may just change things later to keep interest in the bike. Regards FPPete.

How did the suspension deal with the bumps one the Calder 4x4 track?
Ha Ha, the Calder 4x4, love it. I thought the rear suspension was very hard and it was set on the 2nd softest pre-load setting. So maybe some quality rear shocks would transform the rear end. The front forks worked well in my opinion. Regards FPPete.
Noticed didn't have to pull clutch in to start bad luck if in gear 😮
I would think a switch that senses if the bike is in gear or neutral would govern if you can start the bike. If not, as you said. Regards FPPete.
You need to rev it more. Over five grand they start to move.....

Ha Ha, I won't be riding this cruiser off road. For a start, the rear suspension would need to be way softer to do that. Regards FPPete.
