This is the beginning of a new trilogy!
I tried to keep it all in one video, but that would have been WAAAY too long. Watch out!
@Kyle Rolnick Typically when CritCrab does a series its usually every few days, if not once per day.
Yeah, I'll be waiting for part 2
Oh crab lord. Please give us tbe second part.
First time players need to be reigned in *clear and quickly* especially if the red flags keep showing their ugly mugs out of the shadowy corner.
Cant wait for the next part
Dwarf: "hello fellas!"
Murderer: " *now this is an avengers level threat* "
Dwarf: "hello!"
Rogue: "so you have chosen death."
@Ivore Surkuri who in their right mind would kill a regular gnome with advanced technology and a beautiful beard?
@Ivore Surkuri sorry.
Edited it.
Dwarf: "Hello!"
Edgelord: "And I took that personally."
The moment I read "Elvish Rogue" , I KNEW this was THAT GUY.
And the character is female
THAT GAL
I play an elf (high elf) rogue (arcane trickster) in my current campaign, but I play him as a pretty chill archaeologist who is cautious in combat and out.
@@DrPluton I've played an elf rogue and even a sylph rogue (although that was in Pathfinder) and both times I ended up being the sneaky but weird character who had a tendency to do crazy things but only when it would help the party.
Inquisitors and swashbucklers are always chill tho
You called those red flags? That was a red fog light warning the sailors to turn back.
Honestly
You called those red fog lights? That was a nuclear bomb siren played through 11 megaphones.
@@urielseptim910 You call that a siren? That was the sound of a planet being glassed by the covenant.
@@JMeuller1992 Not even close, that’s the sound of the sun imploding and destroying the entire galaxy.
that was 1600 lighthouses with red colored glass
My uncle is currently playing an edgy elf rogue in our campaign. The difference is he laughs when we mess with his character rather than get mad. His catch phrase is “give me a name and it’s on a headstone” of course we are all teasing him about spending so much on masonry services and That it’s awfully nice to nice to buy headstones for all the dragon cultists we kill.
CritCrab: "A Creep attacked OP with knife."
Me: "Ah, PvP. That's rude."
CritCrab: "The attack was in real life."
Me: "What?"
CritCrab: "This is part 1 of a multi-part story."
Me: "What?!"
yes. we all read the description for the video
@@cthulhupthagn5771 No need to be rude.
@@jamestown8398 It's not rude to point out the pointlessness of your comment.
@@stevenschnepp576 Actually it is. And my comment wasn't pointless; its point was to be amusing.
@@jamestown8398 it's okay. They're probably upset because they've been featured on this channel before. I liked your comment as did 100 other less rude individuals.
This guy is taking role play to a whole other level
Title: "OP gets stab IRL!"
Video: *Features no IRL stabbing*
I feel betrayed.
It's part 1, stabbing comes later
@@joeyphillips5495 oh, that sucka
Joey Phillips still a smidge clickbaity... annoying but fine I guess
@@joeyphillips5495 It still dissapointed me.
would you say you feel “stabbed in the back?”
So unrelated to the story but a few months ago I made a comment in the community tab, and said I was inspired to finally try DMing thanks to the horror stories. I had my first session 2 nights ago, and while it was a disorganized fustercluck it was the most fun I’d had in a while.
That's great to hear! You already sound like you have the makings of a great DM! 🦀♥️
If everyone is having fun (including you) who cares, right? Good for you for taking the chance
I had to rewind because I partially zoned out while reading a text I just got and I thought you said that the mercenaries were escorting a carrot man. Now I'm disappointed that they weren't. I was interested in what kind of campaign this was where they have vegetable people.
Veggietales campaign
They're escorting that one hippie carrot from the Pajama Sam games
Oh I remember reading this one on the subreddit! I was saying that I would love for crit crab to do this one! You guys are really enjoy this!
You’re like that one guy who read the manga!
@@papertroll1876 😆😂

*sips tea*
So, they were an irl murderhobo?
Ooooooooo
Wow
@CritCrab wait, papa crab, please stay
Absolutely not!
They had a home.
😂👏🏻👏🏻
Dwarf: what do you have?
Rowan: a knife!
Everyone: no!
Ok, this was really weird, my character is ALSO named Rowan...
I'm not a THAT GUY tho
*Balance has been restored*
@@CritCrab am I the chosen one? Was the prophecy fulfilled?
I feel like there is an imposter among us...
@@ashrevyr755 Your Rowan's actions must balance out the ations of the bad Rowan.
@@rozu7772 trust me, he tries his best.
He's a human fighter/ barbarian that survived a culling, because of that he always tries to do his best in gray situations, and isn't a fan of mind magic due to how it was used to subdue all the victims.
I was so confused for a second because my own DnD character is a rogue named Rowan so I got really scared this was me lol
My first Rogue, a human named Garth Drasget, was fun to play. Everyone thought he was gonna be hyper edgy. Ended up being super "everything rolls off his back" type who cracked jokes and made meme content.
>Minuano
>human samurai
why do i get some Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance vibes from this
coulda sworn critcrab actually said 'what?!' in a manner similar to raiden
yeah, CritCrab's "What?" when he said it in his "edgelord voice" reminds of Raiden
I will neither confirm nor deny any connections.
But hopefully this story will "show you a good time, Jack" ;)
@@thejackmage9656 Fancy meeting you here, Mr OP.
Though in bad taste, I'm honestly surprised the human samurai wasn't the issue and gone full weeb considering some of the other stories.
I hope the next installment of this story actually involves the IRL knife part
I love d&d... I once had a teifling rogue who constantly disguised himself as human since we'll most races don trust them due to bloodline...he was chaotic good...even the party thought he was human up until some of the last sessions....it was a touching moment once they realized he was what he was....some of the party were a little flustered that he didn't trust them, when he turned around and said this is him trusting them the feels moments only built from there...he was a little edgy and always utilized his environment...
Ah, I LOVE this format- the ocean ambience is so good. Your mic quality is great too! Everything sounds awesome. Keep it up, Crab King✨
But... my first Rogue was named Trombone and was a fast talking con-man/ face type (with 0% relevant ability and 100% confidence). I think he ended becoming a lesser god of the sea through marriage? It's been a while and I was about 8. I am significantly more than 8 now.
That. . . that's awesome. Sounds like an interesting campaign.
A con-man marries into god nobility, sounds like an amazing story.
"Hey I'm just a dwarf minding my own bussi-"
Rowan: "So you have chosen death."
Just starting out this video, I'm reminded of the video about the Monk player; where a guy who turns out to be a drug dealing abusive boyfriend shows up after being kicked from the game, trying to terrorize his ex-girlfriend, punches one of the other players when they won't let him in the house and the rest of the group has to call the police.
That moment of OP making the others think they were a Prison Warden was clever as shit. In this situation I would have thank them for the cleverness.
Well, I wouldn't have too murder hoboing someone, but you get the idea.
I have a player in my party who recently started playing a dark elf rogue. The only reason why this isn’t a red flag is that I’ve known him for seven years and never in my life have I met a chiller dude. Of course he proved me right and is playing his character in a vibrant and interesting way. Can’t wait to see how it develops
I appreciate the waves. I focus on them whenever I feel my temper start to boil over. It helps.
In my teen years I had a fellow player, one that I went to high school with, lunge across a table and tell me he was going to stab me to death because my 3rd edition sorcerer cast a spell on him. Although that spell happened to be lightning bolt, it was a gross over reaction...I feel the pain here, OP. I feel you.
You know we need that part 2 crab daddy
I can only imagine what kinda horrors are gonna be in part 2--
On a side note, suddenly real glad my mates don't pull this sorta stuff at the table tbh, the whole thing seems just straight up w a c k
Part 2! Part 2! Part TWOOOOO
LETS GOOOO 🦀
As someone who goes by Rowan online, everytime Rowan is said I pipe up but then remember I'm not being spoken to and I swear this whiplash is gonna kill me LOL
I'm watching a whole lot of these to figure out what not to do.
Me: *sees title*
Also me after seeing the video: well time to change my name
Lol
4:14 Damn ngl you did a very natural Raiden-esque impression there fr fr
I’m ready for another masterpiece from Critical Crustacean...
"baby's first rogue is edgy..." me: "i make a minotaur wooing gnoll swashbuckler of a rogue. :3 he thinks he is fancy as hell, despite looking like a typical seafaring swashbuckler."
My first concept of a rogue was a guy who didn’t say anything because he was shy, and wore a dramatic cloak......because his grandma made it for him, conceptually he would have had skills in mind of odd skills like sewing etc. the idea was that he was originally just some guy who happened to be kinda stealthy, he had a loving family, no tragic backstory, no evil passive-aggressive dialogue, no murderhoboing, he’d probably be team mom...
My first rouge is a swashbuckler too! She is a tabaxi, who is a part of a pirate crew, who refuses to bath. They left her out in Waterdeep so she can figure out where the grand treasure is. But she has very low int and charisma stats. I think it is very fun to play as. No edge and all nonsense while still being rouge as hell
The worrisome thing is that at this point it seems like the player just needs a good talking to. If it goes from this to knife violence, it's either a catastrophic failure of communicatiom or genuine mental issues.
Wow- seems like Rowan would fit in with DC's Dark Metal arc very well
CritCrab you aren't so sly this time.. You posted this video with that crazy title and it doesn't even get to the attempted stabby stabby and then ask if we want more?? You know DAMN WELL we do!! And i eagerly await the next 2 videos of Rowan the unstable's insane yet funny tale.
I have been listening to a lot of dnd stories and I got to say CritCrab you’re one of my favorites.. love the videos man
Recently got into your channel and have binged most episodes now. Finally hit that point where a part 2 isn't out yet! Can't wait to hear where this one goes!
Being her first time playing I wouldn't have booted her but I would have definitely had a heart to heart and explained that behavior isn't acceptable. One more incident like that and she'd be gone. New players will think that's how the game is played and one bad player can ruin it for everyone.
So Rowan's a girl...
"Rowan": I have some friends I want to invite to the next game. Max never wears a shirt, is that okay? Do we have any virgins?
Is that a killer babysitter ref?
@@ArmitageShanksuk That it is!
@@DAsrada that was such a pleasant surprise it getting a sequel.
@@ArmitageShanksuk DM: Ok arrow ambush, roll to evade.
(Cultists evade...except Allison. Whose Nat 1 results in her character gets an arrow in---well, guess)
Text: got the opposite luck. Not a nat 1,
CritCrab: got the opposite luck and rolled a nat 1
"We have two Lawful Goods..."
Time for some alignment switch then. If I was playing a Lawful Good character, you can be damn sure I would have executed the Elf or handed her over to the Dwarves for a lawful trial and execution.
Agree with CritCrab! They should have had a second session zero and started it off by having a discussion about acceptable behavior.
I don't think rogues are naturally edgy, my first char that I still play is a bright and social tabaxi arcane trickster rogue but maybe it's just me seeing it that way but I also want to see how this story ends.
Rogues aren't naturally edgy, a lot of people's perception of them is though.
First rogue I ever made was inspired by the character Hondo Anaka from Star Wars clone wars. Basically a charming grinning thief, he wouldn’t hesitate to lie cheat and steal, but had his own personal code of honor, and a good heart under all the BS he liked to talk, also he loved to troll people
My first thought on rogue is simply Steal & Sneak, Kill & Sneak is assassin part
"Minuano, playing a human samurai"
Oh hell yeah, we got Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance references up in this bitch.
It's refreshing to see a female "that guy" - or rather a "that girl" in this situation ^^
I recently started playing DND and my first character was named Rowan, a Chad monk, despite being female irl. Im very glad it didn't turn out like this and he died peacefully so I could make my current paladin.
as a new subscriber this is the first time I've gotten through a part one and not been able to click to the next one! Deliver the drama king crab!
'minuano a human samurai' metal gear reference!111!
I thought Crab would be above click baiting, we see Crab, we watch Crab- why deceive us?
I'llt ake responsibility wtih that. I titled it on the subreddit "so the rouge tried to stab me irl multipart post"
My first character was a half orc rogue. Inquisitive. He was a calm optimistic Investigator and friend of the giver of my first ever quest. Not edgy. Quite dutiful and loyal actually. He threw himself at the big bad to save the boss's daughter.
If session 0 has become such a disaster because of 1 person, you may want to talk with the rest of the group and see if your all even willing to put up with that BS to try and improve them as a player or if you're all too exhausted trying to be good teachers and just wanna play without disruption.
Ngl totally zoned out considering the likelihood Minuano was actually a Metal Gear Rising reference like I initially thought, I'm leaning towards a yes.
Did he just say "Minuano, a human fighter"? That's literally a Metal Gear Rising character
Cant wait for the rest to get read. I read the first two parts a while back but it wasn’t finished at that point!
Definitely need that part2
ANOTHER LONG SERIES LETS GOOOOO
Error: DM allowed a player to needlessly kill an NPC! As most of use were likely told to tell strangers and others trying to pressure us into things "Just say NO!"
I'm getting into Dm-ing for some friends from college and I've been binge-watching your videos to get into it and hopefully avoid these common mistakes.
With that amount of red flags, you could easily make some pants for a giant
Had to rewatch DID NOT THINK IT WAS 3 PARTS
First time ive watched one of these shortly after upload do to only recently finding you.
Love the work and look forward to part 2
red flags everywhere but no stabs irl yet. the suspense builds.
Yes, I need a part two. I need to see how badly this gets effed up.
I’ve heard many horror stories but this one is a cut above the rest
Part Two is definitely needed
Love your stories new subscriber, but the volume balancing between videos is crazy one will be very quiet so I turn it up then all of a sudden I feel like I just had a grenade go off in my headset T-T
ooo, a lady murderhobo edgy rogue, that's a new one for me. XD
This new trilogy is gonna be good.
Man don't do Michael Myers like that
He ain't THAT bad.
Gib part two pls 🦀 king.
Definitely need to hear parts two and three
And here I thought my Critcrab story was good, but man, you guys play D&D for high stakes!
Minuano, huh? The cool Brazilian wind...
*Only Thing I Know For Real plays in the background*
Part II today, let's go crabs
Stabbing people IRL is just a new "it's what my character would do"
I was worried that "trying to stab op," was part 1 of a trilogy. But id assumed part 1 was the stabbing, and 2-3 would somehow be followup incidents that somehow happened after a stabbing attempt. XP
Way to Gm experienced DM. "Well you didn't declare that you're looking for traps". Nice going that the first time player has to fight with you, that they didn't know they got to do that :I
"when he tried to stab op-"
oh man got I angry and wanted to kill the op's character
"in real life"
👁👄👁.... what
Oof you have baited me into a click great king, but I will certainly return for part two
Oh no, my name is Rowan, this should be interesting
It’s as if in order to play a rouge, you automatically have to either be brooding, an asshole or both. Like that’s the prerequisite for picking that class. But damn they can be incredibly useful when they decide to be.
Kinda reminds me of Spoony's old Counter Monkey story, The Code, in which he gives a bunch of Shadowrun players something that's basically "Babby's first run" and the players are such psychos that they destroy everything he set up from the very beginning.
Definitely needs a part 2!
yep we need part 2
I always tell my players what the vibe of the adventure will be and ask them what they want out of the game at session zero so this stuff doesn't come up, but with new players that's kind of hard. I try to make sure each session has a little bit of everything but if you're gonna murderhobo then I just have the NPCs respond accordingly
*Player:* "I announce my attack and attack the NPC" *starts rolling colored rocks and wasting Natural 20s on a pointless endeavor* I roll for Stealth, and add all together my bonuses and -
*Me the DM: Who rolled a Natural 1 with a heavy die* You greased you weapon too well this morning and the darned thing goes flying somewhere behind your head (OOC) You do anything like that again, I'm docking you 3 levels each time
PROTIP: If you're party's rogue doesn't talk, kill them off quick.
ITT: People who wander into Whiterun and kill everyone immediately, and then get mods after the guards kill them.
Ok sorry but the beginning just made me think "If my character dies then the DM dies in real life" (you know, like those bad video game creepypastas "you die in game you die IRL"?) and I made myself laugh.
Back again pleading with you to make these videos longer.
I misheard ruins as "Rowans" at 2:21 and that killed me.
Minuano is a detergent here in Brazil lol
Stabby Mang- **gets stabbed and bleeds Mango juice**
Part two sounds nice
Tip for you DM's out there; If the first words out of a player is anything to kill an NPC for no reason, boot them out at that instant as you are only going to cause yourself and everyone else involved many, MANY problems if you even allow for this behavior to continue. Do not let your other players suffer cause you arnt decisive enough. Put your foot down.
Hoo boy, yes I want to see where this insanity goes! Good lord...
