To be fair, he got pretty much everything he wanted in the lower rarity slots, which is not always guaranteed, so I understand the sentiment of "I might lose the low rarity stuff and STILL not get the higher rarity stuff that I was trying to respin for", but yeah, if there was any set where high rolling the pulls would've been worth it, it was probably this one.

Right???? So dumb, why not reroll when all you pulled that you wanted were commons and not even a playset of the rare you want! Just pull and hope to sack otherwise it'll give you back what you need anyways!
At this point the redoer tickets are the most pointless addition. At least make them useable for pity packs, allow multiple for the same pack, or one per pack but you can choose which opening to add to collection. They have to incentivize their use otherwise it's just a meme that they don't get used.

After game 3 I have to say that it's incredible how bad Gage becomes when he thinks it's in the bag. Had all the cards, considered the possible counters and deliberately chose not to prevent them. could have prevented Dante with mischief, could have prevented farfa with a bunch of things. Completely deserved loss.

Gage could have easily used cat shark on toad instead, if you want to chalk that up to a gage shouldn't have won because he misplayed not understanding how is card works, then sure, but they take back plays from misreads like that all the time.
The more aggregious cheat was in g3. Torrential Tribute cannot be activated in response to the summon of a Paleo monster from the GY in basically every circumstance, as it will always be c1 trap, c2 paleo to summon. The last thing to happen is not the summon of the paleo, but the resolution of Dinomiscus in g3, so on the following chain, cimo could *Not* have used Torrential. Cimo *could* have triggered cir to bring back a BA then torrential on a new chain, but then he would not have farfa that banishes Toadally awesome and blocks a chunk of damage that turn. Based on the draws, cimo would have lost from the position easily.
Cimo staring down those pulls and not rerolling is exactly why I love him.
It'll be a cold day in hell when Cimo takes the easy way out by pulling a meta defining strategy, and when he clicked "add to collection" I stood up from my chair and clapped.
He doesn't need Drident. As long as there is an out, Cimo will simply draw it. So it has been, so it will always be. The Age of Gage is a hoax perpetuated by MBT viewers, and I for one do not stand for the Cimo slander. Fuck them packs, my boy stays winning!

Game 1: Cat Shark’s effect does not boost Anomalocaris’ attack, since paleos are unaffected by ALL monster effects, not just the opponent’s
Game 3: AFAIK, Torrential Tribute cannot be used if the summon is on CL2 or higher, as the last thing to have happened prior to an open game state would not have been the summon
The mistake in game 1 *probably* didn’t matter in the end, but the one in game 3 100% affected the outcome (if TT does work the way that I think it does)

Even with all those other misplays Gage had NO reason to play into Torrential especially when he was expecting it. I think that one play is what sealed it for Gage.
Apparently he didn't realize it, but when a Paleo trap is being summoned, it isn't being played into. The summon isn't the last thing to happen in the chain prior meaning it is an illegal activation of Torrential.
Since the summon effects have to be activated in response to another trap, this is true for all Paleos. The last thing that happens will never be the summon of the Paleo. The first chain link would have to be something that summons.

I think missing timing isn't the correct term since torrential isn't a trigger effect, but it's true that it can't be activated there since it needs to activate during a chain that occurs when a monster summon was the very last thing to happen before.

Redoer Tickets are such a useless mechanic when NO ONE USES THEM
They buff the pity ban so it can instead be a pity unban if the loser wants, but they don't buff redoer tickets to make them less of a risk.

Besides forgetting Mischief... That torrential was illegal cause the summon was made in chain link 2. Chain link 1 was a paleo, CL 2 paleo in gy so the last thing to happen wasn't a summon. Funny how immediately they talk about the frog missing timing
The Age of Gage is going to have to wait until his frogs turn into princes because they are traveling through Burning Abyss.
Torrential Tribute wasn't able to be activated because it would miss timing since the summon occurred at CL2+. That would impact the game a lot with the Dupe search.
Some missplays:
Gage should have used Mischief, Cimo should have used Rhino as CL1, not 2, in the chain with Farfa. Farfa was already doing anything, either banishing the Toad or making it negate it, it would have been better to have an extra body for that Fire Lake set.
Doesnt Torrential miss timing during G3? Last thing to happen after the paleo summon is the resolution of Dinomischus. Idr for sure but could have sworn thats a misplay. Also as many have already mentioned, you cant Cat Shark Anom since paleos are immune to all monster effects
To answer:
- Torrential misses timing, yes.
- The Cat Shark cheat didn't matter because Gage could target Toad instead. The loss in total ATK by "fixing" this cheat (which was 200) was not enough to keep Cimo in the game.
@cameraredeye3115 unfortunately, the misplay game 1 did matter. He had to detach a material from Cat Shark in order to make Toadally in the first place, so doubling Toad wasnt an option
@@AvidHerpetologist His board wouldn't have been as good but he was Toadally able to summon it without the detach. He used the two Ronins for it (one of which shouldn't have been on board because it was the detach), but also had the Paleo right there.

What in an incredible match, holy hell. That's one of the best Progression episodes ever. Just amazing back and forth. Gage throwing game three, Cimooo throwing game 1. That monster combo Paleo was putting up some nasty boards, but it just wasn't able to hold in any game, really.

Could the redoer ticket be changed to something else or removed from the wheel? It’s pretty pointless when Cimo not rerolls in an episode with a set like this. Also removing the rare card slot in the wheel could be a good option.

Game one Cimo could have cleared Anomalacaris by making Giga-Brilliant and using the effect to boost everything by 300
Gage mentions that Giga-Brilliant doesnt out Anom because players get priority to activate traps, quick play spells, and quick effects on a summon. Since Giga Brilliant isn't a quick effect, Gage can use Anom's quick effect to pop GB before Alex gets priority to use ignitions.

As someone who has played exclusively BA / PK since 2016, this deck is playable and viable all the way up until Adventurer package. And I hope to see this deck take on many more forms as time goes on ❤️
I really hope at some point, one of them is able to play a janky version of Block Dragon BA. Most cards are low rarity and it is perhaps the most fun I've EVER had playing Yu-Gi-Oh

@@magicsilver2825 The errata doesn't happen until LED7 in late 2020, by the way (they're in early 2017 as of this set). There's a reason it was banned from 2005 until then.

The Cat Shark on Anomalocaris was dumb, but Gage had other ways to do basically the same thing so it's not outrageous. Cimo using Torrential on a Cl2 summon of a Paleo was the real crime here, it basically shifted the entire duel
question game 1 gage double the attack of a paleo xyz who has the effect of being unaffected by monster effects, how exactly did he do this with a xyz monster effect?
In game 1 when cimoo synced vergil then the next turn when he overlayed for anginer wouldn't the 2 b.a. monsters he used as materials blown up before he could use them since he controlled crane crane which isnt a b.a. monster???
Besides Dante (which doesn't have that effect) he only controlled one BA at a time. The first one was destroyed because Crane Crane was summoned and the second was summoned via Crane Crane for which you should obviously read the full effect.

People may disagree, but for me nothing on this channel is more entertaining than Alex’s opponent stating exactly how they can lose the game, and then Alex doing exactly that.
For all the people saying "the Cat Shark misplay in game 1 didn't matter he could'vejust targeted Toad", it did matter and he wouldn't have the extra monster on board to deal lethal damage.
Going through the plays Gage would've had, the total damage he had on board was 7550 with the misplay, but only 6250. He used Cat Shark to dump the Ronin back into the GY to extend his plays allowing him to use both Ronins to make Toad and keep the Paleo on field, giving him enough damage to win the game. But because Anomalocaris is unaffected Gage would have to target Toad once he makes it, but then those materials are stuck under Toad. Best case scenario, he uses Ronin and Swap to make Toad, but it really doesn't matter cuz even if Gage wanted an extra body on board he would have to use the second Ronin plus either the Paleo or Swap to make Cat Shark, boost Toad, then summon Ronin back using the last frog in grave. Cimo is still alive and Gage only has 1 negate with no pops left on Anomalocaris. Then it goes into speculation cuz then Cimo has the draw for turn, potentially 2 more draws with Allure, whatever Cimo might want to bring out from the extra deck, where does Gage negate, etc.
