Terry you are such a fantastic genius , i will love and adore you until eternity ,,,,,,, you were much too young to leave us xx 💛💛💛💛❤❤❤❤💙💙💙💙lol always Jane x
So glad I was a young teenager when The Special broke, what a musical education they gave us all. Not sure why they have never been given the recognition they deserve.
@@user-ew1rh4er3r What a lovely sentiment. He will thank you for it when he is older and discovers Trojan records and the other bands of the day, the Jam and all the Two Tone stable.
Great comment and a good combo. I was a miner ( striking 1984) totally align to the comments and what a great time to be young at the University of life .
Will Be Sadly MISSED 😥. BEST 👌 SOUNDS EVER 80S. REST IN PEACE 🙏 .MY OLDEST SISTER USED ❤ 💕 TO WATCH YOU IN CONCERT LOADS WITH HER SKINHEAD AND ALL.USED TO LOVE ❤ HER COMING ❤ 💖 BK JUST LIKE 👍 YOU. BEST TUNES EVER IN MY LIFE. THANKYOU ,WILL BE MISSED BILLIONS. MY HEART ❤ FOR HIS FAMILY 👪. XXX
Brentford1967 I wish someone would put together a record and film of the ‘79 concerts. They were fantastic but I’m loving the new stuff as well. I’d love to see them live in 2021.
They are bloody brilliant. We watched them live in Wolverhampton recently and I can tell you I was in awe. The negative comments are stupid. It's like saying she was beautiful at 16 now she looks crap cause she's 50! This gig doesn't capture the atmosphere as it does live. Believe me they may be older than in the 80's but they are still fantastic
Oh to have had 25 RB’s on the stage kickin & stompin…. The late 70’s - 90’2 were the golden age of shows. Our kids will never know what shows really are.
John "Brad" Bradbury (16 February 1953 - 28 December 2015) was an English drummer and record producer. He is best known for having been the drummer in the English ska group The Specials
@@awwmann8821 I sat down and had a cup of coffee with Rico Rodriguez once in Exeter, he told me that Brad was the best Ska drummer he had ever worked with. He said that Brad understood the Jamaican way of drumming low on the kit. There is another clip somewhere of Brad drumming with the camera looking directly down on him, its astonishing. Roddy Byers told me that one of the reasons Brad was so good was that he could switch styles effortlessly and within a song, so he could combine elements of Ska, Soul and Rock seamlessly.
Every time I drive past Coventry ,midnight,3am,6am,8am(stuck in traffic) m6, north or heading south home I think about the specials and the concrete jungle that is Coventry and hope never again will it be attacked by either Germany or THATCHER
That transistion from Longshot to Liquidator is inspired... no disrespect to Nikolaj but it's just a shame Jerry couldn't have been persuaded to join in. Should have stopped though when Brad passed. RIP
It's called Skinhead Symphony (a medley of Longshot Kick de Bucket, The Liquidator & Skinhead Moonstomp), so technically the second song is Longshot Kick de Bucket.
Rip Terry Hall. Legend 👏👏
I thought I heard Terry Hall Passed. I seen him singing in Fun Boy 3 in the 80's
Thank you Terry Hall & Co. for all the great tunes and memories. Too much too young

This is awesome, no camera phone, just dancing and feel the beat😍
The first band I saw live. I was 11 at the time. They blew me away. Best gig ever..
RIP Bradders and Terry....❤
This is superb as you'd expect, but it doesn't beat their 1979 live Skinhead Symphony recording. That recording was absolutely sublime!

Special AKA...take a look at the original 7 inch sleeve. Original Rude Boy Oi Oi. When you read about Nev’s life from the outset....check it out
I bought that 45 record in Ladbroke Grove in London in 1995. It was the best tenner I ever spent.

What's the name of the second song?
Longshot kick the bucket
Its a classic 60s ska / skinhead tune by the Pioneers, a ska staple
It's called Skinhead Symphony (a medley of Longshot Kick de Bucket, The Liquidator & Skinhead Moonstomp), so technically the second song is Longshot Kick de Bucket.
