Yoiu completely misread what the little girl was saying about her mother. She said her mother couldn’t be the main character in a fairy tale because her mother is rich. The hero of a fairy tale never starts out rich, she overcomes adversity and becomes rich. Dong-eun told her that her mom IS the main character, because it isn’t a fairy tale but a fable. In a fable the main character does something wrong and is eventually punished for it
The iron burned case bullying really happened to a girl in South korea back in 2006
You might think this is exagerated but it is not. There is actually a real case in which a middle school student jn korea got burned and beaten but the bullies now are living "normal" lives.
Also there is a huge, huge socio economic reason why the teacher doesnt want any thing negative to happen with his students. 1. He gets evaluated by his performance. And being a public school teacher is the best job he could ever get, great benefits, stable job, and if word gets out he brings trouble he won't easily get hired in a different school
2. Yeonjin's mom is rich. She has influence and teachers definitely dont want to cross those people.
Yeah, and its not even just one case, it happens a lot in Korea...
In the real case, the victim was so badly burned on her lower back that her tailbone was exposed, and she required several surgeries and a lengthy hospital stay.

The bullying and the revenge are based on real life stories, her decade long revenge plan was based on the story of a Japanese kid who also planned revenge for a decade but his plan failed because he was discovered before he could execute his plan and was sent to prison
No one throws rice at their kids, in all asian country's we also use the slippers or the belt, and the rice throwing thing is like used for shamans to get rid of bad luck i think

unfortunately, this is based on a true story, only the victim did not take revenge
So about maybe 10 years ago or do it became illegal for teachers to hit students before that it was perfectly legal for teachers in Korea to hit students

Sad to tell u that this was inspired from real case in Korea and the revenge story inspired from Japanese case. To tell u how messed up bullying is in Korea, just few weeks ago a 23yo teacher from ELEMENTARY SCHOOL end her own life in a classroom bcs she was HARASSED BY THE PARENTS OF THE KID WHO IS A BULLY AT SCHOOL. She was the homeroom teacher for the kid’s class. Kid was 1st grade, used a pencil to cut the forehead of another 1st grader. Afterward, parents showed up at school and severely admonished the teacher stating that she had "no right to be a teacher".
This actually is a true story, the nurse didn’t do anything she retired
& it keeps getting better
