Agreed, great cover. Now I wonder how many times I have listened to this song. Beggars Banquet came out in 1968 when I was 16. So, 56 years ago. I just about wore out my LP listening to this. But probably I've listened to this several hundred times per year. I used to have the LP on my old cheapie turntable and would play that track every morning a few times. Of course, some years later my high end turntable was able to get really good sound out of that vinyl, so it hadn't gotten wrecked. I listen to a lot of different music but I would always come back to 'Sympathy' (just like "Hey, Joe" and a few others). I really enjoy listening to the many covers of Sympathy and will listen to them repeatedly many times over. Golly, I've probably listened to the song near 20,000 times in my lifetime (56 years * 300 plays/year = a big number) ...and I imagine even more than that! Good gosh, I know where I'll be sent...
