Fantastic video and demoing of these expansions, Jef! Just wanted to correct something you mentioned - despite being a newer expansion (as of August, I believe), Backyard Jams actually is part of the current NI sale (ending 12/6/21) and 50% off. You might've gotten thrown off by Burnt Hues (the most recent expansion) since that one is still selling at the regular price.

I’m planning a new video on my process, but you could find a cheap wired lavalier mic to plug into your camera for your voice, and then you just need a way to capture audio from your computer.

Nice beat and tutorial Jef. Question can you take the audio module and convert it to a sampler module all in standalone? I’ve seen you and Beau Tyler both do this technique, but on the one step you both are using the DAW to move the audio to a new track. 🤔 I’m standalone so how is this done in standalone? Thx 🙏🏾
Hey! Yeah, all you would do there is choose a new sound, go to Sampling, then set it to record internally from the other sound. That will do exactly the same thing!

Thanks for yet another great video Jef!! The information and tutorials you've provided on Maschine and Native Instruments in general have been invaluable to my learning process, but I do have a question. I'm planning on getting Crate Cuts since it's been out for a while and it wasn't added to Komplete 13, but I'm concerned that some of the newer expansions and instruments might get added to komplete 14 (which I also plan to get once it's out). I'd prefer not to buy the same expansions twice. What has NI done in the past in terms of deciding which expansions and instruments make it into the newest version of Komplete?
Great question, I honestly have no idea, but I could see them adding it in the future as they have to keep sweetening the selection!

Love your videos! I got the NI Komplete in the sale thanks to your tips.
Did you do anything special to get your Maschine working with your M1? I can play the previews but when I try to load something it either doesn’t play a sound or maschine just crashes
No that's weird man, everything seems to work fine for me!
@@jefgibbons Ah well, guess I'll just have to stick it out. Their support responded stating it's not fully M1 compatible yet and that others have reported the same issue, so it appears you got lucky!!

The expansions are great but I did not buy any. I have Komplete 13 CE and if I upgrade to 14 in the future I'll probably have to pay full upgrade price. So I'll wait until 14 comes out which will probably include everything. Great expansions and video by the way

I’ve found that not all expansions get included with Komplete upgrades. I bought the Ultimate Collector’s Edition 10 which got me I believe all the expansions at that time. I happily upgraded to 11 to get more stuff but still wound up buying certain expansions separately. I think I’ll skip 13 and wait for 14. In the meantime, I’ll keep buying expansions separately especially during their sales. Brother Jef, you’re the goods! 🎶❤️ Thank you so much for all your hard work in helping so many music makers with so many things! I dig a lot of channels but yours is my absolute fav for Maschine. Hi Jef. Greetings from Montreal. Amazing video as always! I'm tryng to master my new Maschine+ by absorbing as many of the tips you provide throughout your videos as I can. Would you know a way to "option drag" a pattern from one group to another in standalone mode? Can't find that in NI's M+ documentation. Thanks!
Thanks Patrick! Easiest way is to hit the duplicate button, then the pattern you want to copy, then the place you want it to go! Make sure you are in Pattern mode to do this, and if Pattern mode doesn't stay on when you tap it, hold it down and press the top left white button to lock it in place!
@@jefgibbons Hi Jef. This trick only seems to work within the same group, and doesn't allow to copy a pattern from one group to another? I ended up selecting all events and copy/pasting them to the target group. Tx

Having a hard time figuring out how to accomplish the sampler/audio/sampler technique (the part where in the software you click on the little waveform and drag it onto a new sound to freeze the new pitch and tempo) on Maschine+. Is this doable on standalone without opening in controller mode?
Yes! Check my recent M+ videos, I can’t remember off the top of my head which one, but I discuss how you need to set a new sound slot to sample internally from whatever sound slot you want to capture. It’s actually very easy.

That is messed up... list the first few groups and I'll compare!
@@jefgibbons In my up-to-date Crate Cuts Expansion there are only the following kits:
Early Sunlights; Golden Chimes; Hanging Low; Keep Digging; Memory Detour;; Smoky Windows; Summer Showers; Unconditional Love. When I look at a blow-up of your video freeze frame the screen with your shot of Maschine with your list of Crate Cuts, it's a bit blurry, but it's alphabetical, and I see a list of kits that do not match my list. I don't know why this is, but it makes it difficult to follow your video using the kits in your video since they don't exist in my Expansion.
