We actually still have a local dairy farm that delivers milk like that here where I stay (South-West Scotland). It's always nice to see those kinda things still being done today. The milkman always wakes me up with the clattering of glass bottles, the bastard 😂
Sadly my area had to stop milk delivery in Coventry as pedestrian path, imo would be pinched? Put out books in bin bag nicked out out basket of books saying free still there?

Most cities in Scotland still supply this service 😂 … look it up, I’ve stayed in Perth, Glasgow, Falkirk and my family live all over. We all love glass bottled milk and all get it delivered haha
@@Eddycheeeeit's still going on here in England too. There's a company called "milk and more" who deliver groceries but also milk and fruit juices in glass bottles.

still get my milk delivered three times a week from the farm up here in Nth Yorks - also eggs delivered on a friday " support the farmers " !!! No farmers no food !

Our milkman in Motherwell Scotland delivers all sorts, milk, rolls, eggs and fresh orange.
I live in Glasgow, if you are interested in seeing the locations, you can go on google maps and look at street view. Osprey Heights is on Collina St, in Maryhill, the cafe is at 1494 Maryhill Rd, and the house they go to in this episode is on Mace Road in Knightswood, not sure of the exact number I think it's 42, and Naveed's is 17 Kennedy Path, Glasgow.

I live just outside Glasgow and still get milk, eggs and orange juice delivered to our front door every week.
We still get milk delivered (am in south east Scotland)! Unfortunately it’s in plastic bottles now rather than glass - those bottles were magic. I still mind getting my free milk at school in a cute mini glass bottle, until Maggie Thatcher the Milk Snatcher stopped all that. 😠 We also have a ‘fish man’ and a ‘fruit man’ who come round once a week. I really appreciate that we still have these things in 2024 - long may they last 🙂

I literally had someone at the door last week looking to start local Dairy delivery. And back in the 90s I used to do the deliveries. woke up at 4am, it took a BIG hit on my schooling :D
In towns and villages all around Scotland the milkman would deliver your milk each morning. Each household would wash the glass bottle9s) and leave outside the following morning, to swap out with a full bottle(s). Once a week the milkman would knock on the door for a weeks payment. Often households would simply leave the money beside the empty milk bottles! No one ever stole the milk or the money. We also had a coal man and a paperman doing the same thing every morning.
Those were the good old days 😱🤩
I'm was too young to remember this, but in the late 60's we had a coal delivery (Renfrew) and the thing was just one big boulder. Took my Dad a whole day to finally break it with a toffee hammer! I miss the smell of coal.
Milk being delivered has made a comeback
All Scottish food and drink, cakes and sweets, are amazing. Delicacies beyond anything English. Iron Brew is a must. As is Red Cola. And the gem of them all is Scottish fish and chips. And their amazing news varies between chip shops too. Oh man.

The milkman delivers fresh milk every day. As far as I know this still happens. If not then it did untill not too long ago. You could always hear the battery operated milkfloats driving along the road sometimes through the night.

I live in Wales we used to have a bread man milk man corona pop man when I was a kid
We had the Alpine man. My nana got 3 bottles every week for us visiting. Limeade, Raspberryade and Pineappleade. He didn't chap the door as it was not locked. The empties were sitting just inside and he'd swap them over. Good days.

I think like you. Me Irish mam me best mate too and Mancunian dad are to explain. We grew up with nothing. To have nowt appreciates everything. I love Navid and Mina insults from the back room. Iron brew is sort of a bitter orange drink like Tizer.

Bloody hell Eddy your making me feel old, I use to work for the milkman as a milk boy, that stopped the milk delivery in my early 20s due to the supermarkets, I'm 47 now, but over the past couple of years there trying to re introduce it for niche customer's
