I was actually wondering about the history of Sym, and the reputation and reliability, after discovering the ADX 125 on your channel this week. It's the scooter I was hoping Honda would sell in the UK. The long distance ability, and light off road ability, has made me think this is the perfect scooter, and the one I want to buy next year. The fact that they were partnered with Honda gives me some confidence that they're a good manufacturer, even though they produce some bikes in China, they're likely to have quality control. Given the price in the UK of £3799, I suspected it must be of a decent quality anyway.
They own the factory in China and they control everything
In China this model is called Husky and its 150cc. It's stands up in a line with Yamaha, Honda Suzuki, Vespa and others for their reliability. It is respected brand here ( Chiana ) for good quality. Really good recommend here. 👍
三陽現在是臺灣銷售量最好的摩托車品牌,它的scooter品質與聲譽都極高。

I just bought my sym adx 125 here in spain, and thanks to your video. I love it.,.
Thank you!
O scurtă și impresionantă prezentare despre acest brand care vine cu potențial pe piață. Mulțumesc.✌🏽
Cu plăcere :)
I do love my Sym Fiddle, it's dependable, comfortable and looks amazing, but Sym isn't a popular brand here in the UK and even as a (mostly) satisfied owner I'd struggle to recommend them. Partly because their prices are not all that competitive - as an example, the Fiddle 125 is £2799 while Suzuki's Address 125 is £2499. And Sym models come with junk Chinese tyres that are awful in the cold, wet British climate, replacing those costs about £200.
Also, parts are a problem. The UK distributor can take considerable time - months, sometimes - to fill parts orders.
The parts supply is a problem of the local importer not stocking up parts.
Not sure why you give the Fiddle a bad rep as I had mine for 11 years with only wear and tear stuff being changed. Tyres are always being developed so upgrades are inevitable. Properly managed timing of replacement parts needed is all that is required. worked for me :)
The Fiddle is a great scoot, I'm not dissing it. But the tyre thing is a issue; the stock tyres just give up in very wet conditions, especially when it's also cold. Getting them changed is not a big deal, but the extra cost erodes the value of Sym models quite a bit.
I guess what I'm trying to say in a long-winded fashion, is that Sym may be a great buy if you're in Greece with warm weather and good dealer/importer support. But in the UK with endless rain and a poor importer, it's not quite so clear cut. My advice to Sym if they want to progress in the UK market is fit better tyres, sack your importer and bring us some models that stand out from other brands, for example Honda/Suzuki/Yamaha tend to undersize the engines on their 125s. So try fitting the legal maximum 14.7hp/11kw engine to new models. Piaggio sell quite a lot of their Medley 125s here purely because it has a 14.7hp engine, rather than the 11/12hp you get on a PCX or NMAX.
@@drramtop1576 the tyre situation I agree with you, first thing I did on my symphony st is change the stock tyres with a set of Michelins
This time, a different documentary video from previous videos. The history of SYM is really interesting, and on the other hand...
We discovered that you have another talent that enables you to join National Geographic as a commentator on top documentaries 👏👏👍
My diction is still a bit off for true narator status but I'm working on it, and yes a different style of video that I enjoyed making.
Very interesting. I switched from Honda scooters to Sym in 2017 - before then I'd never heard of Sym in the UK, or potentially just put them in the "cheap Chinese reverse-engineered crap" category in my head. Now I think they're excellent and I"m happy to keep buying from them.
Very good insight history ,good job for the research. Job well done
Thank you 😁
Nice one Al. thanks for sharing the history of the brand. Goes to show they priced the bikes at the right level. I chose the ADX over the royal alloy for longevity and reliability. well worth it and thanks to your review, pushed me this way.
thanks again
My pleasure.
Informative. Great key value points. Good update for me as the SYM logo is something that appeals to me more and more. Value for money. Thanks.
Wow! Didn't know Gorgolis was such a big chapter for Sym in Europe, happy to know that as a Greek owner of a brand new Sym Symphony 200ST Euro5. I have to say, not a big fan of it's plastics quality but for the price i find it really decent. HD300 i had about a year ago was much much better though..
Thanks for the history, hope the best for Sym in the future too. People really need decent bikes with fair prices these days.!🙂
Great documentary, brilliant editing, epic job! I really enjoyed this. Thank you! :)
Thank you! :D
Yea they make quality bikes.
Very compact, to the point, interesting, something different, good to know.
Thank you 😁
I WAS A Fan OF ITALIAN SCOOTERS PIAGGIO VESPA aprilia gillera but in last 2 years i drive a hd2 125 and a gts 300 (year 2013) and I need to say this brand SYM is another level top quality engine good price 👌
Very enjoyable history of SYM. Very rare I see any around Bangkok. Its Honda and Yamaha are the most used scooters here. Side Note: I didn't get the ADX350 in the end. I got the Honda Click 160. More practical for our daily needs ( storage space) and as plenty of power. I don't think Europe as the Honda Click?
Keep up with the great work 🙏🇹🇭
No, we don't have the Click here.
Very nice video. I was wondering about the history of the brand. Very well researched, kudos Alex. The big manufacturers are not listening to what people want or what to improve on the models. I see that SYM does that and the new models are really superb and comfortable.
Thank you, it's hard to compare Sym to other manufacturers because their bread and butter are scooters (just like Kymco) so while Honda has a range of 4-5 models of scooters sym has 20+ models.
@@RideWithAlex It is a bit baffling, because Honda started the cvt scooter trend in the 80's with the Elite model and to my knowledge made the first maxi scooter also - Helix 250. But you are right of course.

Great content my friend. Planning to create this content for my channel too. And thank you for your videos.
Glad you enjoyed and wish you the best for your channel 👍😁
Likewise. Cheers!@@RideWithAlex
I like the SYM's I've owned. If I had the money, I would buy the Citi com 300. I like the fact that most of their scooters are around half the price.
Aren't they cheap on the second hand market?
I wish Sang Yang would advertise more in the USA so we can have more dealers. I would love to buy Sang Yang motorcycle but it is hard to find Sang Yang dealer.
Excepțională prezentare
Mulțumesc :)
Salut Alex!

What? :))
Excellent brand Sym .. Taiwan people choose their own path without China's rules and success..... From 1993 to 2003 i drove only Jappan brand motorcycle s ..from 2004 only Taiwanese Scooters and im not regretted great brand's logical prices good quality.....From 2004 to 2012 two Sym a VF 150cc and Gts 250cc excellent engine's not at all problems thousands of kilometres the only thing the noises from plastic assembly......after 2012 my prefer Taiwan Scooters are Kymco s models personal opinion a little more premium models up to 300cc and of course the great G5 super charge engine .....
