On the bench today is a 1:64 scale Hot Wheels Chevy Big Air Bel Air. According to the Hot Wheels Fandom site, it’s a highly modified '56 Chevrolet Bel Air meant for off-road racing. It was designed by Brendon Vetuskey and debuted in the 2020 Rod Squad series. This is my entry to the September Four Horsemen invitational. The theme is post-apocalyptic, which is always fun, and by the time I’m finished with this you may or may not recognize it as a Chevy Bel Air. Stay tuned and find out.
Be sure to check out all of the other Big Air Bel Air builds for this month’s invitational.
If you participated, please send a high quality landscape glamour shot to fourhorsemendiecast@gmail.com to be included in the recap video.

Beautiful work sir. Love your take on it! This and the 55 gasser are two of my favorite molds…so I’ve been looking forward to your take on it ever since I saw it was in the to do list. You did not disappoint!
Thanks. Lots of guys really love the old Chevys. Me too. Kinda hurt to take the chop saw to this one (but kinda fun too!). Have a great weekend. 🍁👊
That is a sweet inner city ride! That sofa still cracks me up 😂
Thanks for the shout, my friend!
You got it. Thanks for all the tips you provide! BTW, just saw your latest Patreon behind the scenes pics. You've got nice legs! (just to confuse anyone who reads these comments). 🍁😂
This came out great. When you started cutting I laughed thinking, "Great minds..." Thanks for inviting me to play....
Now it's a Bel Camino! Thanks for being a great Guest this month. Loved the Zombie Mobile! Poor Will... 🍁😂
What a fun build! Love the finished result. The sofa is perfect.
Thanks so much, Stewart. The sofa was nearly an afterthought. Thought it would be funny! 🍁😂
Just great and awesome work........... and this big air bell air is the winner of my first 2 races
Nice! 🍁👍
Yet another quality build. I love these post apocalyptic vehicles
Me too, Mark. So much scope for creativity. Thanks for watching. 🍁👍
Will enjoy the others….we can always hear how much fun you have with these. Beautiful execution on the different features, Andrew. Really great #DDOG promo too!
Thanks, David. I might be able to squeeze out two more videos with #DDOG promos before the deadline. Anything to help out a bit. 🍁👊
Andrew, thanks for this great video. Great deckles - er, decals. Love that you have this a story and the couch is a master stroke.
Looking forward to the next.
The stuffing coming out of the couch was the most fun! These are a riot to make. 🍁😀
That's a fantastic build Andrew! As you were chopping pieces off of the original, I was cheering! 🤣🤣🤣
Yes, we both left a lot of plastic carnage on the bench after working these over! Mr Vetuskey put everything he could think of on the originals! I need a new pair of snippers now! 🍁😂
Outstanding build as always, I love your narrations all the time. That was SUPER fun
Glad you enjoyed it, Paco. Thanks so much! 🍁👊
That looks great as always, Andrew! I'm truly impressed. All these minute details.... and the stuffing 😂
Thanks for your kind words, Tina. I think the smaller the detail, the bigger the impact. I was hoping that the stuffing coming out of the couch would be funny! 🍁😀
Looks great! Love all the little 3d printed parts and wheels you come up with!
Thanks, Jordan! Some castings get more 3D parts than others. Some get none. I chopped so much off this one, I had to replace those bits with something! 🍁😂
Super custom cool 😊
Thanks! 🍁☕️👍
I love the couch! Stuffing too! I did that once on a worn interior and it just finished it off nicely. Very nice build Andrew.
Hi, Geoff. The smaller the detail, the bigger the impact (sometimes)! Have a good one, brother. 🍁👊
Absolutely fantastic work Andrew looks awesome always enjoy watching you make these post-apocalyptic vehicles 👍👍
Thanks for watching and following, Michael. Wishing you a terrific day today. 🍁👊
Amazing custom Andrew. Great idea love all those little details especially the couch .
Thanks, Chris. The little details go a long way to making a big difference. The couch seems to be a hit! 🍁😂
Great build Andrew I love it and that would have a special place in my waistland chop shop!!!!!!!
Thanks, Silver. It's been fun to see all the different spins people have put on their Bel Air builds. 🍁
Very well done… lots of imagination, thank you.
You got it, Brian. Have a great day! 🍁👊
Wowie! Came out great! Love the couch!
Thanks so much, Mark! The couch was an afterthought, but it seems to have been a hit! 🍁 😊
awesome. love the tomato soup can trick. i might have to buy a can tomorrow!
They go a long way. I've been cutting pieces off this one for more than a year now! 🍁😂
Great video, lots of cutting and slashing going on ,ending in excellent results 👏 👍
Thanks, Martin. There was lots of plastic carnage on the bench after I got done with the trimming. Fun times!🍁😂
Love the fabrication on this one Andrew. It looks totally different with the 🪓 top. Well again sir!!
Thanks, Ricky. Chopping the top was probably the biggest change in the look of it. That and the fat wheels. Always love working on a Gaslands theme, when they come along. 🍁👊
One bad Postapocalyptic 56 Chevy! Nice build Andrew!
There's no limit to what can be done in this style. I enjoy these a lot. Wishing you a great weekend, Ron. Take care! 🍁👍
Amazing work Andrew. Your wheels are superb.. Love those.. So Creative.. I must say it looks so good widened out.. And the comfy sofa on the back for the tail gunner ... Just brilliant...I
Thanks so much, Vic! I know this is a tough weekend for you, so thanks for stopping by. 🍁👊🙏
@@MapleLeafCustoms I Love your channel Andrew.. Its always a priority watch for me...
Outstanding job as always Andrew!!!
Thanks, Eddie. Hope all is well in the aftermath of the storm. Thinking of you guys down there! 🍁🙏
This turned out great Killer transformation
Thank you, Shamus. It kind of developed as I went along... 🍁😂
absolutely amazing love it. turned out super cool
Thanks, Neil. I've enjoyed watching a bunch of these so far this weekend. Lots of creativity out there! 🍁👍
@@MapleLeafCustoms mines boring gonna try something different next time
Great build, looks awesome
Glad you think so! I appreciate the fine feedback. Have a great weekend. 🍁👊
I love this classic look so much, Andrew. Would drive this IRL anytime
Thanks so much, Tina. I do like those 50s Bel Airs too. Such great looking cars! 🍁👍
Fantastic custom build Andrew. I love it brother.
Thanks, BJ. I'm always encouraged by your feedback. You rock! 🍁👊
Pretty freaking cool Andrew. Would look great on my shelf.
Have a great weekend buddy.
Thanks, Charlie. I'll be working on one of the cars you sent me in a few weeks. 🍁👊
Another great build, Andrew.
Thank you, Skip! I appreciate the fine feedback. 🍁👍
Wow! This is incredible! I think I need a Bel Air truck.
It's a Bel Camino! 🍁😂
@@MapleLeafCustoms 🤣🤣
3rd thumbs up brother Will watch soon ❤️😁👍👊💯
Nicely done. 🏴☠️🏁
Thank you. That was a fun one to get creative with! 🍁☕️👍
An awesome custom, it definitely sits apart from any other Bell Air out there, love the rumble seat in the back too.
Thanks, John. The rumble seat is falling apart with the stuffing coming out, but I imagine it will stay right there in the back. Seems to fit the build! 🍁😂
Love the couch!
That was my favourite part too! 🍁😀
Crushed it buddy... fantastic work... i was thinking about doing this one..... kinda glad i missed it now .. LOL
We're all just big kids playing with our little cars. I would have loved to have seen your take on this one, Dan. I didn't know when I started that I'd end up with a Bel Camino! 🍁😂
nice build, details and paint job 👍👍
Thank you, Joe. Have a great day. 🍁👍
Great job Andrew and looks awesome 👍
Thanks, Mark. It has become one of my favourite genres to work on. 🍁👍
@@MapleLeafCustoms you're welcome 😊
Wow. You realy did it this time. Love the pickup idea, and the cauch in the back måde me laugh. Those graffitis around the car looks great. You should do some more rated out cars, cuz you got the right feel for it
Glad you enjoyed it, Morten. Some of these ideas developed as I was working on it. I like the genre. It's fun to do one of these now and then. Have a super weekend. 🍁👊
Love it so much bos
Terima kasih, Susilo! 🍁👊
Awesome as always
Thanks again! You're a faithful follower. Cool. Have a good one. 🍁👊
Like the conversion. Surely looks like a proper PA vehicle.
Thanks, Jamie. It's become one of my favourite styles to work on. Much easier than painting inside the lines on those shiny cars! 🍁
Great result !
But not really coffe time 😉
It’s really nice to see the different steps to get there. Building things it‘s a real fun! I‘m really done for today with the real life 😅
One day, i‘ll try it. I have 2 castings on the bench for friends. We‘ll see if they like them 😉
Hi, Yves. This one had lots of little details in it. And I think your friends are going to love your customs. I know I would! Enjoy a lovely weekend. 🍁👍
Now that's a custom super cool Andrew and as always appreciate the tips and ideas kinda reminds me of something built back home in our back yards i dig it alot buddy if no one gets it I'd be interested in buying it
Hi, Donnie! I can definitely see these as backyard, weekend projects. Someone else beat you to this one though. We'll get one to you in Virginia at some point. No worries. 🍁👍
@@MapleLeafCustoms no worries buddy i understand totally no rush I appreciate you brother
The poles coming up through the hood are the suspension and not exhaust, I believe. But you hit it out of the park with this! It looks awesome, great details!
Thanks for the tips! I defer to anyone's knowledge of cars as being vastly superior to mine! 🍁👍😀
Andrew this is actually one of my fav builds that you have done. Wastelands builds are starting to grow on me the designs are limitless and some of the results are way too cool. Hit me up let me know what it would take to get it in my collection. Talk about a fun build and cool video. Take it easy my friend.
Hi, Rodney. Thanks for weighing in on the Bel Camino! It took me a while to get into the Gaslands builds, but I quite enjoy doing them. Much easier than trying to paint inside the lines and getting everything perfect on those shiny cars! Sadly, someone else beat you to this one. I'm always surprised by the interest in them. Wishing you a great weekend! Take care. 🍁👍
Awesome build
Very nice build as always my friend keep up the good work and we'll see you on your next video have a good day and God bless say hi to the wife
Thanks, JC! It's fun to suspend belief now and then and work on a Wastelands car! 🍁👍
@@MapleLeafCustoms I'm not really a big Wasteland car fan but I do enjoy it all your customs that you do sir I just wish when people would pick Customs to do they would do something other than the same old cars all the time and might make like everybody's always doing Chevys stuff like that they just seems to be not enough people out there doing custom Fords I enjoyed the escorts that you did and there is one out there that I'm going to find another one and I will be sending it to you it's the Sam Walton 79 Ford pickup truck soon as I find another one I will send it to you so you can do a custom to it it's already really nice custom the way it is but maybe you can do something better to it I have got a hold of your friend at at the Wheel company that you tell us about and I guess they can't make the wheels I want I am looking for NASCAR Hoosier tires on white rims or black but they don't have to have them I see other wheel companies out there that have Goodyear and Firestone but the front wheel is too small and the back wheels just right I don't want to have to buy two sets for one car and then have two small wheels that I don't need I appreciate all the help that you've been giving me thank you for everything and God bless
@@jchayes7325 I've only seen the Sam Walton pickup online, never in person (but we don't have much to choose from over here!). It's touch to find just the right wheels, isn't it? Samed is always expanding their inventory. Sorry they don't have the NASCAR set you're looking for. Keep hurting. The right set of tires can really make the custom. Take care, my friend!
Apocalyptic isn’t my thing but I enjoyed watching and the end result is cool nonetheless.
Have a great weekend! 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇨🇦
Hi, Steve. Not my main thing either, but it's fun to suspend belief now and then and chop one of these up! Wishing you a fine weekend too! 🍁👊
Nice project!
Thanks! Always fun to hit a Gaslands theme now and then! 🍁👍
😳😍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 awesome
Thanks, Dane. Did the storm hit Alabama? Hope you're all well done there. 🍁🙏
Nice work. Kinda bummed they changed the schedule, as I've had my "high school" IROC ready to go for months. While I won't be painting it pink, I do appreciate what it's for. :)
Post it up anyways. I think the last minute change caught a few guys off guard. I'd love to see it. 🍁👊
Cool 😎
Thanks, Antoni! 🍁👍
Nice
Thanks, David! Glad you enjoyed it. 🍁👊
very interesting and unique. and I agree, the base model is a good bit overloaded. :) great wheels, and nice idea with the sofa behind the gun. could have used a cushion, or maybe a little plush tiger. many years ago I saw an old chevy camaro convertible with a little plush tiger chained to the back seat... :)
once it's my turn I want to try forming boty parts off stardard designed die-casts using thin aluminium foil, to make dents in them maybe, and replacing other parts. as in, swapping heavily damaged body parts like fenders and doors with some that are still usable. :)
Glad you enjoyed the video. I've used crinkled aluminum foil directly over fenders to make them look damaged from an accident. That worked well. Seen some other good tricks online too. I learn something or another from most videos I watch. CZcams University! 🍁🤓
@@MapleLeafCustoms right? and it gives one idea after another. :) this is how we learn from each other. ^^
👍 Thx 🇧🇪.
Thanks for watching, Rudi. 🍁✌️
Another great one Andrew granny's couch lol that was a good one been thinking about tacking one of those castings and doing a old 60s dirt track car it's a great casting 👍Andrew iv tried sending you a email and can't get it to go through. Sorry to bother you about that
Hi David, thanks for watching. Try contacting me through Facebook Messenger, or Instagram. We'll connect somehow! 🍁👍
Very nice build but let's talk about how to get in the car? Due to the side exhaustpipes there is not enough room to open the doors.... Another Problem i see is the amosuply for the rear machineguns There should storageracks for a lot of Amoboxes...
Hi, Udo. You’ve got a keen eye, but you’re taking it more seriously than I do. 😀 I think it takes a measure of suspended belief to imagine any of these Wasteland cars as real. Looks like the doors would open halfway, enough to get in and out, but personally I’d grab the roll bar and swing in feet first through the back window opening (the front seats fold down)! I doubt the front wheels would turn much left or right. The hood would have to be lifted straight up to remove it, with the exhaust stacks as they are. And most importantly, I hope there’s never an apocalypse and those guns would never be fired! In the end, they’re all just little toy cars, right? Wishing you a super weekend! 🍁👊✌️
Cool 56 Chevy Big Air Bel Air wastelands gaslands build!
Did it ever find a new home Andrew?
Thanks, Jack. Yes, this one is now in California with a viewer who asked for it. 🍁
HERE'S Yours. Was wondering 👍 Paint it pink? I'm in like EVERY year. You cut Your roof in half like I did, lol. I shoulda did a full 360 in my vid. I survived the hurricane as You can see. Anywho... Your build is awsome as hell Andrewcifer 😺*I'LL* take it! lol
Hi, Cat. Glad you survived the storm, first of all. It looked intense on TV. Someone else beat you to this Bel Camino. It's soon on it's way to CA. Enjoy the weekend. I hope things have settled down there. 🍁👊
@@MapleLeafCustoms No-worries, and... little damage on the homestead 👍
💯💯💯👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for following! Have a great day! 🍁👊
👍
Thank you! 🍁👍
I dub thee HELL CAMINO!
Hi, Bruno. I've been calling it a Bel Camino, but this is even better! 🍁😂
FNA!!!
Thanks for watching and following along. Have a great weekend! 🍁👍
🌵🌵🌵👍👍👍
Thanks for watching the Bel Air build! 🍁
I would love that but where it’s often so we need someone to send it to I’d love to receive one of your customers. If you were gonna give it to me you have to wait until I make build I can swap you for it.
Stupid auto correct I would love the Belaire. I just need to make something I could swap for it
Autocorrect gives me fits too! 😂 I got it the first time though, Aidan. A swap will happen for sure. Great idea, buddy! 🍁👊
Sorry if I’m bothering you I’m just really excited for the swap. Plus I just enjoy talking to you anyway do you know what kind of builds I like gas lines and stuff like that, but what would you want me to build? Keep in mindThis would be my first project, so it’ll be a little roughAnd take a while because I’m still gathering materials. I just want to gauge what stuff you like. :-)
@@aidansadventures7651 For your very first build, Gaslands is the easiest way to go. Nobody can say you did it right or wrong. It's really, really hard to paint inside the lines on the shiny customs I try to do. Gaslands... can't make a mistake! Glue stuff onto it. Make it really dirty. Voila! I'd start with that. Have fun gathering your stuff and thinking up some crazy ideas!
Not my granny's Bel Air. Actually better. Cathy from Jacksonville FL.
Thanks, Cathy. Hoping you're OK in the aftermath of the storm. It looked intense on TV. 🍁🙏
