We all tend to have limiting beliefs and they can keep us from living the life we were meant to live. In this video I share how I overcame my limiting beliefs to achieve my dream life as an artist. I also show you how you can overcome your own limiting beliefs.

I love your story. I’m on the cusp of getting a “real job” as a special education teacher. I’m enrolled to get my masters in special education after working in the department for the past 3 years as a long term sub. My bachelors is in fine arts, but I never developed the business mind around my art, nor have I narrowed in on a focused process that I absolutely love. I have so many blank canvases and have fallen in love with Erin Hanson’s paintings, or the look of “open Impressionism” I feel I’ve nearly mastered drawing, I’ve loved graphite and charcoal and have loved portraits in the past, but I want to move into color and the organic shapes in nature. I’m not great with color, mixing is a big challenge. I’m getting better with color harmony, but I still make some ugly color combinations. Your paintings are so beautiful and your success is so inspiring. I just started my “summer vacation” but I still work as far as house chores and I have 2 young boys, but maybe they’d like to paint with me. Your course sounds very enticing!

Hi Christine, the great thing about art is that we can pick it up or put it away many times over the course of our lives as our situations change. For me it has been a hobby, then an aspiration, then I put it away entirely for a few years, then it was a hobby, a serious hobby and since my 40s my profession👍 the other great thing is that it is all learnable… we are only limited by how badly we want it. Cheers 😊

I'm as good as those artists you have taught but I was also on a relationship, rental housing merry go round that destroyed repeatedly my path to success. Having a Banker wife and a stable home helped you a lot.

Hi Tim, not only are your videos helpful, but they are so insightful as well. I appreciate that the wisdom you share comes from a deeper perspective. We are very lucky you are so generous with your FREE info. I know CZcams videos can be daunting to edit and upload. So thank you 😊
I also bought your art course and I’m soooo thankful about the price reduction! I couldn’t afford it otherwise. THANK YOU, TIM 🙏🏽💝

Hello Tim. Thank you for sharing your experience! Can you tell how much did it cost to start your new art career from scratch? You need paints, brushes etc. And you have to constantly create new works when if previous weren't sold.
Could tell about this part of your career? Thanks again!

I want to thank you so much for sharing your valuable knowledge with us in these videos. After watching some of your content I realized I need to work more on my skills like composition, perspective, color theory and when I feel confident enough I would love to work with you. I found you through Brooke. Thank you again sir.

I use two water soluble oils so I use 2 big water pails to clean my brushes. One with just warm water… one with warm water & a bit of dish soap.
I leave the jugs overnight and in the morning I empty one into the other and use paper towels to wipe the sludge off of the bottom… then I repeat with the 2nd jug… that leaves pretty clear water in the jug which I flush down the sink with hot water. I don’t use turps or solvents so I don’t have to worry about the rags 👍

Thanks for replying, i have just bought Cobra paints and Go For Green thinner and medium, i have seen that you have to be careful of the left over paint and paint on rags and paper towel as the paint has linseed oil and that its flammable.

So was my early talent just the ability to recognize/practice those skills needed to progress? I have lost my dream and have only dabbled for years now.. 16 to be exact, 10 of those being a mother and homeschool teacher...

@@timpackerfinearts That's inspiring! Now that my baby is almost three I have had more time but I have also been changing my mind about art a lot in the last few years. I watched a video on composition a year ago that basically explained to me why I disliked most of my old paintings...This led me to have a renewed interest in my abilities... Therefore, I have been altering my habits to make more room for playing around with all my supplies. I have picked up watercolor lately but would love to return to oils. I will be watching your videos on what products you suggest. and checking out your art school in the future... Thanks for the reply!!
