Reminds me of JJ’s funny comment on how stat sheets should read: “Donovan Mitchell - 35 points. Gobert - played really good defense.”
Exactly watch Mitchell now will have a bunch of empty stats
@@beejeeezy7933 the only reason Mitchell will have empty stats is if the Jazz as an organization fail to provide the pieces he needs. taller defenders especially wing defenders who can also score or at least shoot and ideally a true PG. Wouldn’t hurt if they’re tall.
@@yurinoworry like Rudy gobert ? 🤦♂️
I feel like the jazz should see what they can get for mike conley and move donvan to the 1 for this season and see how it works out
@@yurinoworry Jazz changed for Mitchell. Jazz then they beated OKC, Jazz had Rubio who's above average defender, maybe even good. Ingles who was good defender, Favors and Gobert. Nobody except Mitchell was a great scorer, so they added Clarkson and Bojan and moved Ingles to the bench. They added more scoring, but sacrifice defense. Nobody except Gobert could play defense.
We all saw what happened in New Orleans when they had Cousins and AD. Both averaged 25/10 and they were going back and forth between the 4 and 5 either on offense or defense. And they had Rondo and Jrue Holiday at guards. Til this day I can’t believe that the organization broke that team apart after one season. BUT, Minnesota is going to ENJOY this scheme. This time Gobert is gonna be chilling in the paint while KAT play at the park. Scary hours….
Interesting you say this but with AD & Cousins tandem, both players were good defenders, had solid sizing advantage, decent playmakers, can stretch the floor, have post up moves and shooting skills. Cousins also played with a chip on his shoulder since the way Kings traded him.
With KAT and Gobert, it’s different since they are all or nothing in offence and defence respectively instead of having overlapping skills
It was only because of Cousin’s injury. I always saw them as the greatest threat against GS in the West until he went down
Well Boogie tore his achilles, AD wanted him back and Pels didnt offer him the contract he wanted so he signed the MLE with the Dubs. And thats why AD wanted out after that. He felt they didnt care to actually build a title team.

For anyone who might not agree that it’s a guard’s league, I don’t think Caruso meant to say the Guards are the best players, but rather the most consistently impactful players. In that respect, Caruso is absolutely right. Like a quarterback, Guards are always involved in a play simply cause they typically get the ball first, hence they’re the most impactful over 48 minutes.
I agree. The NBAs current focus on threes and layups/dunks makes it a bit tougher for classic style bigs to get a lot of touches

Caruso says it's a guards league, which he's right. I'm just not sure there's too many guard combos better than DLo and ANT. DLo and ANT easily top 10 backcourt in league, maybe Top 5. ANT alone really does have potential to be a top player in this league because unlike Luka, Trae, and Ja... ANT plays extremely good perimeter defense and is getting better at it.
Pat Bev will be missed, but Pat Bev also forced DLo to be SG and ANT SF in starting lineup and DLo struggled with that.
And Pat Bev had consistent injury issues too. I’ll really miss the dude, but Rudy is a MASSIVE upgrade

I think Jmac gives us everything bev did on the floor at a more even toned level which bev would get Kat way to rattled up he would let his emotions dictate his game
"Pat Bev does what he does"
Pat Bev got traded to Utah lmao
Does this trade mean KAT will get alot more mins at power forward?
Yup he’s now a wing that can play in the post. If we was a better passer this would’ve been a no brainer years ago
KAT actually plays like a power forward already. He’s just huge and shoots 3’s at a insanely high level. He’s like a new age KG.
Hopefully his D takes a leap next to Rudy.
I agree Anthony Edwards is the key! I disagree about guards, I mean Raptors did it without a guard you speak of! It has to be a killer (Kobe mentality) to bring the ball up in moments that are key!
What many people haven’t talked about with this trade is number of stupid fouls KAT won’t commit to get himself in foul trouble early in the game. KAT has been one of the league leaders on fouls committed. Not having to be in paint to get stupid fouls will be big for KAT.
They just added Austin Rivers which should be a good replacement for Pat Bev offensively and defensively.
Jj is richtig, its all about Edwards becoming a superstar
Minnesota probably overpaid for Rudy but you have to appreciate the front office’s aggressiveness. I would not be shocked to see Minnesota in the NBA finals next year. Especially if Anthony Edwards takes another step towards super stardom.

The way some of these sport analysis talk about players you would think they were actually good
I would never claim to know more basketball than JJ or Alex, so they're most likely right. I just feel like that was a terrible trade for Minnesota. Gobert has trouble guarding outside of paint. We've seen teams attack him and make him a liability in the playoffs. Teams can put a small on him or a stretch on him and he's not good enough offensively to make them pay for that. Towns will be at 4, but he's not a good perimeter defender either. If teams put a wing at the 4, he's gonna struggle guarding them. Now they have $90+ million a year wrapped up in Gobert and Towns, and that's crazy. And the amount they gave up. 4 players (including the first rounder this year), 4 future first rounders (3 of them unprotected), and I believe a pick swaps. That's an insane haul for Gobert. I think it's a terrible trade. But we'll see
I guess Shaq is a casual as well
Vanderbilt didn’t guard the best wing what’s Alex smoking? It’s McDaniels and Edwards on best two Vanderbilt guarded the center half the time
"2020 summer league championship Lakers". So cringe they holding onto that.
"casual fans don't understand---" is starting to become a conversational crutch on this show, alongside "[insert role player] doesn't get enough credit".
like i get it, online sports discourse (or any discourse really) can be a cesspool of uninformed opinions, but it's especially lazy here because it's never been a simple dichotomy of : "casual fan" = Goburr bad / "seasoned nba intellectual" = Goburr good. you'll see a lot of "casuals" defending Gobert on youtube and reddit whereas there are actual NBA players who don't seem to respect what he brings. analytics guys seem to love him whereas traditional media and oldschool "hoopers" seem to be more skeptical. the talk around Gobert and his perceived value has always been polarizing, even within the league. why that is, is at least to me, a lot more interesting than what some 13 year old shitposter on twitter thinks.
everyone with a little bit of sense knows Gobert is a good defender, the question has always been, "but is he THAT good?" Fair or unfair, his stint at Minnesota, particularly in the playoffs, will define how most of us view him.
LOL, it’s no wonder why so many former players are awful GMs. These guys ain’t bright. Not sure the comparison between the AD situation in LA with Javale and Dwight is quite fitting. Not saying im counting them out but i am kind of curious how they will defend any perimeter players with KAT and Rudy as clear weak spots imo there.
KAT already defended wing players. Vanderbilt played like Rudy, but he’s a 6 foot 8 power forward. Y’all are going to be shocked how good this team will be on defense
They should play similar roles that Nowitzki and Chandler did at Mavs
Sorry but no, they lost their best perimeter defenders to trade for Gobert. Rudy fits well with the wolves, but they just lost so much to get him. Edwards, DLo and KAT will be hunted on switches.

I mean what can you say though? It IS a casual fans way of looking at things when Gobert gets called unplayable in the playoffs and stuff like that. Also it reveals the dumb nba players who have that opinion. Literally gobert and straight up 4 awful defenders (like what the jazz were) will still be a top 5 defense in the regular season and be at 50 wins. That’s ENORMOUS impact. The jazz failings were entirely everyone but gobert, expecting Rudy to get every rebound, lock down the paint, and switch onto guards when teams went small…when not a single other player on Utah could stay in front of their man on defense.
Trading Vando was a mistake... we're gonna feel his absence on the boards
God doesn’t want anybody in hell because He loves us, but you must understand why we deserve hell and why those who refuse to live under His authority will go there. He gave us the law (Ten Commandments) not to make us righteous, but rather to show us our sin (Romans 3:20). We’re not sinners because we sin, but rather we sin because we’re sinners. Sin is the nature of our flesh that we are born with due to the sin of Adam in the garden. For someone to be justified before God they have to be sinless. We’ve all sinned (Romans 3:23), and the the law demands death for those who sin (Romans 6:23). God is righteous, so He must punish our sin, which is what He did through His Son Jesus Christ on the cross. Jesus is Holy and sinless, yet He received our sin when He died on the cross, so that we can be righteous before God (2 Corinthians 5:21). When He died on the cross, He said “It is finished” (John 19:30), which means He paid the full price for all of your sins (past, present, and future) to be forgiven. He was buried and rose again from the dead. God will forgive anybody who puts their full trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. We aren’t saved based on our good deeds, but only by the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8-9). His precious blood that He shed is the only reason why we can be forgiven of our sins (Hebrews 9:22). If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead, then you’ll be saved (Romans 10:9). You are born-again with the Spirit of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and are not only legally justified before God, but also are accredited His righteous (Romans 4:24). Believers live for Christ now, so get to know Him through His Word. I recommend reading the book of Romans and the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), and watching Pastor Joseph Prince’s online sermons!
