1:19 the rules specifically say that you should redraw if you get two of the same genre, so you are NOT a leg up on everyone else from the get go, easily missed, very important.

Counterfeit comics can allow you to take over a genre, they’re usually easier to produce, and the downside is there normally only worth half as many victory points as the actual title

I actually loved this game. Felt incredibly thematic for a WP game, and had the same sort of decision space as a lighter Garphill game. There are a lot of synergies in this game that it looks like you weren't able to appreciate.
It feels like you didn't understand the purpose of the rip off mechanic - it lets you steal the Mastery token for that genre (which is VPs in itself) by making it easier to print comics without having to develop or source ideas for them. And printing more comics quickly lets you unlock those special actions even faster, making your game even more efficient.

This is one game I would have backed if I had the money. I suspected that the game wasn't going to be too good, but I loved how the game looks. Now I'm happy I didn't.
