Well done on the pop quiz! You recovered being over powered. The first time the rail hits the water is a bit unnerving. That’s because when anything else in life tips that far it usually goes on over the rest of the way. Remember the more the boat heels the more keel force there is pulling you upright. The more sail area doesn’t always mean more speed. In that situation half the sail area would have given you nearly the same speed with much more comfort and steady course. I’ll be following you around the world lads. Fair winds, carry on

hi lads, first off love the vids,
Been sailing for the past twenty years almost, so I would like to give some advice to make sure you guys stay safe.
You guys reacted quite fast which is good however it looked quite unsafe from the angle of the camera. Although I would say that unless the guard rails are entirely underwater yall will be fine, unless you guys are completely confident in your ability to handle such situations I would STRONGLY advise to reduce sail and maybe take a reef on the main. Especially when there are 25+ knots, as it is quite usual to have gusts that are 30-35+ when there is such winds.

Hard to capsize, the sails reach an angle 📐 which makes wind blow off top of sail then weight of Keel pulls boat back .
Always take the fenders in when sailing lads better to drop a sail or reef early, all part of knowing your boats limits though, so well handled and well done. ✊🏻🏴
The boat hull may take it, but the standing rigging may not. Always reef to be on the safe side.

My ancestors were from Arran... when i climbed goat fell there was a pure white beam coming down out the sky.. not a sunbeam breaking through the clouds!
Also the same light like a rainbow arc over the whole island view from the ferry back to ardrossen

No way near captzie lol spent alot of years racing yachts , winches be in the water , boom in the sea. As the yacht gets to certain heel wind will split of the sails. Be more worried about the mast coming down

We have an AIS transmitter but don’t have a receiver but like they boys said we will when we go round the world and we will also have personal AIS MOB transmitters
I hope by now you have learned to reef much sooner. You will destroy your sails and rig if you don't learn this valuable lesson. Getting the toe rail in the water is bad and for beginners it may be exciting but it gives you no extra speed and strains your boat unnecessarily. Keep a comfortable point of sail and never "beat up your boat".
