As a guy who grew up without his father, this song hit hard back in the day. Great band.
Amen....I lived this as well
This is their ballad. They have lots of bangers. Underrated band.
WERD!
"Bathroom Wall" and "Poison Ivy" are a must if you're listening to Faster Pussycat.
This is the soundtrack of my life. It's about a son waiting for his father to return home. Just like me. I bought the cassette at 16 and when I turned 18 I played it none stop. It's was one of the guitar solos I learned first. Listening to it now still gives me goosebumps.
On my 16th birthday me n my cousins went to the MÖTLEY CRÜE DR. FEELGÖÖD TÖUR FT. FASTER PUSSYCAT in Billings MT. After the show on the way home, we stopped in a truck stop. As my cousin's mom was getting coffee, I saw the Crüe's tour bus. The door opened up n Nikki Sixx came out n waved at me, as I waved at him. Good birthday 🎂 present. Thank you aunt Stacy. 😉
My pops was never around. Never seen a picture of the guy and I don't even know his name. Now I'm an adult in a long distance relationship and we had our first kid a year and a half ago. I haven't even been able to hold him because he lives in Canada with his mom. Everytime I listen to this song it hits me right in the chest because the last thing I want is for my son to grow up without me. Definitely a soundtrack for your life kinda song
If you follow the lyrics, this is a soul crushing song.
My biological father didn’t want me when I was a kid. I would sit on the porch all day waiting for him to come and see me. He had cancer and tried getting me to call him. His turn feel abandoned. My mom loves and hates this song. She still sees me hurting just sitting there. The saying is true. If it’s good, people will buy it. If it’s real you will feel it.
you are not alone bud waited on the porch also
Sorry you had to go through that. Everyone should have their Dad. I lost mine almost 4 yrs ago, he was my best friend
My biological father is someone I just share a name with and 50% genes and nothing else.
My dad cheated on my mom they separated when I was 10 years old he visited every other weekend until their divorce when I was 12 years old and his visits became excuses as to why he couldn't pick me up and my paternal and maternal grandfathers became surrogate fathers to me until they died my paternal grandfather when I was 18 my maternal grandfather when I was 23.
Now I'm 51 years old and in spite of trying to be the better person trying to be a part of my father's life between 12 and 51 he values the life he built with my stepmother and half siblings not the family he was originally part of.
I lived the same nightmare bro! It was a defining moment for me; I have 2 daughters and have always supported them. You can learn from other people’s failures, as well, as your own successes! Stay strong buddy!!
I feel your pain. My dad wad an alcoholic that used to beat me my brothers and mom. Left when I was 6.and said he would come see us. After enough no shows I knew he didn't care. I'm 51 and he is dying of alzhimer. I don't care. Karma.
Love this song. I also like their version of "You're so Vain" - I think you'll like that one!
I saw them open for Alice Cooper back in the day and they put on a helluva show. Check out "Babylon", "Bathroom Wall", "Non Stop To No Where" , "Slip of the tongue", "Poison Ivy",and their awesome cover of "You're so Vain".
One of best written lyrics. Lyrically this is genius work. Simple but meaningful
This song is very mirrored to my life. Parents split up , mom always working and dad forgot I exist. I was zero contact with him from 14 on. Didn't even attend his funeral and I am his only child.
But he always lied to me saying he was coming to grab me for weekend to do something fun. Finally at 14 he called me and suggested something and I told him you honestly think I believe you , after 5yrs of your shit and lies. Save your breath because I don't need you in my life and I don't want to even be in the same room with you ever again !!!!
His family swore my mother had brainwashed/poisoned me against him.
I pointed out he did that all on his own
This song makes me cry everytime I hear I lived this song still asking these questions he died like 5 years ago and now I will never have closure 💔
I love this song. It always goes somewhere in my playlist
This is one of my favorite sad songs. Hits it at home, in two generations.
This album has some bangers too though. 🤘😎
I fell in love with this song when it first came out. I related so much to this tune. Excellent review. Thank you.
"I paced my room a million times and all I got was one big lie....the same old lie". 😪.
Seen these guys years ago with Bang Tango, Enuff Z Nuff, and Bullet Boys. Great show.
FYI... A case of PBR and a 1/4 of shwag will get you right on the bus.
Faster Pussycat is one of the most underrated "hair metal"-era band. So many great, sleazy rock songs!
This reminds of my dad and family. Totally alone and abandoned spirituality and emotionally at very young age. Left to figure life out by myself. I’m sure many feel this way. Very powerful and raw and honest.
Babylon, Bathroom wall, You're so vain(cover), Poison Ivy, Cathouse, Slip of the tongue, Where there's a whip there's a way. Keeping with the theme of the song about father abandonment. Try Queensryche's Bridge and while on QR try Someone else.
I was thrilled when I heard this song in Peacemaker. It was so fitting to the scene, too.
It was. It was such a great scene.
One of my favorite bands and very underrated . I met the band as a teenager they were very cool.
This is a really heartfelt song.
I saw Faster Pussycat live numerous times! Love this underrated band ! waaay more great songs from them to check out.
Slower Dickdog was our nickname for this band back when they were out. We still loved the band. It was just something silly for a guy that was 19.
This is a song that speaks to my life because of my father
Thank you ❤️
I got to hang out with Faster Pussycat back in 87, and they were a blast.
You have to listen to bathroom.
This takes me back. Wasn't really into this band being a Headbanger. Past GF this was her band. So familiar with this song & band. similar Though I rather listen to poison, Wasp, Fastway
Thank you soooo much for doing this band they are awesome. I still listen to this band, check out Poison Ivy by them you may like it.
They did a great cover of Carly Simon's You're So Vain
What up T. So glad you did this. Being raised in a very abusive home, I relate to this song more than I'd like to admit 😟
I love that Peacemaker show! Cena is amazing, I had no idea he could act that well.
How about that opening song?!? It's a catchy one, eh? Haha.
It's great. The humor is just right for me and the show doesn't take itself too serious. Lots of good throwback gems in there as well. If we didn't have this reaction channel, they would've went over my head.
That's a deep song.it's been a long time.song has alot of truth in it!!
I am still suffering to this day, this song runs it home
wow, memories from this one.
I hate how they cut out the last line on these versions. He says, ‘if I learned anything from this, it’s how to live on my own’……gut wrenching
Probably their Magnum Opus. Magnificent.
For me I referenced it more to being unwanted in a personal dating situation as I wasn’t wanted by anybody. Wasn’t i worth the time. But yeah I’m an ‘80’s baby so I grew up with this. Great band.
@Danielle sorry to hear that you were unwanted in a relationship and can't imagine why.
For me I can relate to my father not caring to be a part of my life after my parents divorced when I was 12 years old and although my paternal and maternal grandfathers became surrogate fathers to me until they died my paternal grandfather when I was 18 my maternal grandfather when I was 23 being raised by a divorced mother and no example of a husband to her relationships in dating and my marriage didn't work out.
I love this band!!
I know what scene you're talking about in Peacemaker where he's having flashbacks to him and his brother jamming out to records and his brother dying in front of him, his house of pain isn't vacant at that point, he still holds all that guilt of what happened to his brother
This is one of my favorite songs and it hits me deep because of my alcoholic abusive and after the divorce absentee father so I can relate to it
They have some great bangers including Poison Ivy, Slip of The Tongue and Bathroom Wall. If you like this group check out two similar bands: Jackyl and Britny Fox.
Another song that shows "hair" bands are not all just about sex, drugs and rock n roll.
This was used awesomely in the tv series Peacemaker
Yes, it was.
Cool ain't heard this in a while great reaction T.🔥🔥🔥🔥♥️🎸☮️
Check out from Faster Pussycat: Non-stop To Nowhere, Bathroom Wall, Babylon, Jack The Bastard, Where There's A Whip There's A Way, Shooting You Down
Love this!! ❤
The one and only time I saw them live was in ‘87 when they were the opening band for Y&T and Ace Frehley. I only knew of one song “Bathroom Wall” from seeing it on MTV. They had a high energy set, but all I remember is the bathroom wall song. They were a high energy band live at least that one show that I saw. This song is pretty low keyed compared to the material they played live in 87.
I met Taime Down once. Pretty cool dude. Really chill
That was the same show in Oakland that I went to. Being a Bay Area kid into hard rock/Metal it was a given to be a huge Y&T fan. Used to go to see them all around the Bay and Sacramento. Never a bad show. Those were the days.
If you have ever had lived through the heartache, you would feel it
Seen them open for motley crue in 1990 they were great live ,bathroom wall Isa good song as well
What a great great song and a great great band.
L.A. Guns - The Ballad of Jayne
And yes, famous director Michael Bay directed this video. The guy responsible for all the Transformers movies
whats cool about this is my father wasnt able to be a father on his own with out mom he was a biker with load wemon and drugs and fights he did play haramonica and i play this good on haramonica along with billy jole the piano man and befor i knew what this song was about it was the haramonica solo that i related to keeep in mind i play drums synth guitar bass and write sing harmonica was my first instument age 3 at age 10 guitar key bords and drums early 90s born 1970
Where there's a whip, there's a way, maid in wonderland are a few gems
I don't know if you take requests but I thought I'd recommend a song for you and your wife - it's called "Woman in Chains" by Tears For Fears ft. Oleta Adams, and it's one of the most beautiful arrangements I think I've ever heard. It's from the late 80s but it sounds like it could have been recorded more recently than that.
Well, if I've learned anything from this, it's how to live on my own.
Really listen to the lyrics T. It’s about being abandoned by his dad.
Please react to Danger Danger, I still think about you, there so underrated, great band
Check out where there a whip, there a way or slip of the tongue, or poison ivy.
Not sure why the video didn’t hit home for you, the video is pretty much straightforward with the song. Then again this was a pretty close description of my childhood. So for me the song hits home even if a little 80s
Also was it this version or white Buffalo version on the show you saw it.
These guys didn’t have an over abundance of talent. But they rocked. And that’s the most important thing.
Their first 2 albums are great.
I saw them live, and the crowd booed them off the stage. The lead singer screamed f-you and flipped us off
"Don't change that song" to hear their upbeat vibe. "Smash Alley" for their sleaze side.
Great band
Thanks for doing them.
I find Faster Pussycat to be try hard Cinderella/Poison. If you want a really good ballad, Listen to Helloween:In the middle of a heartbeat!
They fun band see back in days .
You must do "Babylon" its freakin awesome
I recommend "Loose Booty", "Jack the Bastard", "Don't change that Song", and "Pullin' Weeds".
Sounds like Aerosmith mixed with Guns n Roses! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Love to see more Gojira! The Gift of Guilt live@ Brixton Academy, Where Dragons Dwell live@ Hellfest. Pretty please with 🤘on top?
I grew up without a dad, life can get a little harder when a boy does not have a father, in my opinion. Having said that, if my Dad stayed in my life, I still do not think I would have had a father either. However, as others have said, this song hit a cord. It was heavy enough for me. Good review, good to be honest.
You have to live it to love it
The singer wrote the song about his dad. The original song has him talking at the end but the video never put that in. “ if I learned anything from this. It’s how to live on my own “ he says at the end then the song ends. Once in a while these 80’s hair bands write a serious song with substance instead of getting laid all the time. Lol
I saw them open for David lee Roth
Singer wrote this about his own father if I remember correctly
I saw this band in LA in 1987, opening for Y&T and Frehley's Comet. They were so TERRIBLE that they got booed off the rage after only 30 minutes. The singer cursed out the audience before he stomped offstage.
Damn tearjerkers. Lol
Yo escucho los pussycat desde muy chico ,tengo tatuado su el nombre de la banda !!este tema me trae muchos recuerdos .saludos desde argentina 🇦🇷💪
Great song reaction
Slip of the Tounge and Bathroom Wall are good both good.
You should react to ACDC highway to hell live at River plate it is amazing
You might like Faster Pussycat: "Babylon" or "Bathroom Wall".
Faster Pussycat - Babylon - Cathouse - Don't change that song
I.never heard of them before
Try "bathroom wall." It's a whole bunch of fun.
it's about his dad not being around
I love you guys. I would love for you to react to the two new Tom macdonald songs.
Please play Earl Thomas Conley and Anita Pointer (Too Many Times).
Check out Little Dove too.
Subbed
Taime Downe is the lead singer.
Tie-me-down
Where There's A Whip There's A Way 🤘 Non Stop To Nowhere 🤘 Babylon
Not sure why my comment showed up more than once, maybe it's the God's of metal wanting more Gojira too!🤘😈🤘(hopefully this one won't post several times)
Nice man.
Nice
First saw these guys opening for Motley.. didn't know know who they was at the time.. lol.. to be young and dumb..
Faster Pussycat was as sleazy as any band that came from L.A. alongside Guns N' Roses, L.A. Guns, Poison, Bulletboys, etc... Their debut self-titled album in 1987 was a perfect representation of glam rock of that era (It was released by Metallica's label Elektra Records) ... the 2nd album "Wake me when it's over" went gold (half million copies sold) in the US thanks to the 'House of pain' single... 3rd album 'Whipped' was released in 1992, but failed to sell commercially in the wake of 90's grunge rock. The band split up soon after.
The original Faster Pussycat was: Taime Downe (vocals), Brent Muscat & Greg Steele (guitars), Eric Stacy (bass) & Mark Michals (drums) ... There was a funny story that drummer Mark Michals was busted in 1990 for mailing heroin to himself in Nebraska... he was fired. Michals was in such poor shape recording the "Wake me when it's over" album that engineers had to splice tapes w/ his drum tracks to make the record.
Taime Downe and Brent Muscat reformed Faster Pussycat in 2001, but Muscat was out a few years later... Taime Downe has kept the band touring til today.
Faster Pussycat songs - 'Bathroom wall' ... 'Cathouse'..."Where there's a whip, there's a way" ... 'Poison Ivy'... 🤘🤘🔥🔥
