I think you did good running a loader, everyone had a first time, I've run one for 15 years, and I could give pointers but you did better then some guys I've seen
I used to operate a Terex 72-51b when serving in the British Army in the 90s These were replaced with the Volvo 4400 then some Medium Wheeled effort from Case (bag of crap). Still miss the sound of that screaming Detroit Diesel of the Old Terex such a refined Machine when taking down barricades in Northern Ireland at 2 am on a Sunday morning after another Riot in Belfast 😉 Happy days picking up cars in the 4 in 1 bucket.... “No my friend it’s definitely a write off you need to contact your insurance” Munchitty Crunchitty 😁
After watching another CZcamsr who I wont name doing a pond cleanup. I've come to see that anybody can own an excavator but it takes passion and skill to run one. Keep up the awesome videos.
I watched the other guy's video and I'm confused, Really $3K for the job (a day and a half), that operator has 20 years of excavator experience?? I watched it twice, I thought it was some prank video.
I spend most of my time in a CAT 980M. I must say, if that truly was your first time you did a very good job. Minor improvements could be made of course but you are far better than most I have seen. Everyone starts somewhere! Love that machine though! (Primary tip: as the cutting edge enters the pile, give it a slight lift before curling. Puts more weight on front tires for extra traction. Once you have the traction you can put the power down to get a full bucket every time.)
Hey buddy if you had one of those loaders you could move some massive amounts of dirt and brush in a day. But you might need a couple more haul trucks. Another good video Chris as always, I look forward to the new one each day
@Flexin 4VGT cool! Our county regulations an state here in Kansass and Missery are not as accommodating. Even someone who gets a warehouse job needs a cdl to use a fork truck. Contractors who use backhoes for plumbing work need cdls to operate them.
That things a monster, I imagine the person that instructs people to drive this, the first thing they'd say is dont drive this like you would a smaller loader or you can get into some trouble quick with the tonage its able to hold , she's a beast
Like they say, anyone can run them (loaders)but it took me years to get good at them especially with the biter bucket and then more time to get used to the track one. I have all biter bucket on my equipment I wouldn't know what do do with two joysticks lol
I have to say, you dropped a couple, lol! Great machine! One thing though, what’s the depth below grade can you dig with an excavator? Like the 140 - the 220?
So, how do you operate that joystick control? Specificley the left one Is the transmission hydrostatic, or torque converter with powershift? do you use a foot Throttle?
i hauled rif raf for the corps of engineers for about 2 years it was the size of a stove up to a compact car and some bigger. tore a new one out of my double bottom box but the rate i got was well worth replacing the box 2 times.
Great video. The town I live in is trading in their 1991 Michigan Wheel Loader for a fairly new Volvo Loader. Hope it's not that model as their poor 10 wheeler dump trucks would be full in one and a half scoops.
Chris, Could you send one of those to CT for me for Christmas. I've been Very, very good this year, Santa. You must have really got your rocks off chipping the paint out of the load bed of somebody else's rock truck. sdh in CT
i watched a volvo loader burn to the ground one night at the chip mill in 2016..apparently it had electrical issues under the cab and then it went to the hydro lines and it was done for...even the fire dept said let it burn there is nothing we can do other than make sure it doesn't spread..the loader was only a couple years old...the fire chief said it was a manufacturer defect in the wiring..first and only time i ever heard of any wiring issues since the late 80's ...i used to make the harness for volvo ,deere, international, and 1 other brand that i can't remember back in the mid 90's ..i was at the solder pots just dipping my wires..i loved working in that factory but the smell was awful in the soldering dept
Jane Ames has working In that dept given you any health issues? Just wondering. I used to work a lot with wood, and always used PPE, but some of my colleagues didn’t and they are on oxygen, or dead. .
volvo loader are by far the smoothest loader out their ... them and cat too but only for the big loader ! the excavator i did not try volvo yet but i will have my chance lol
It’s not full until its coming over the greedy board of the bucket 👍 like I was told when I first got in a machine anyone can drive them but not everyone can operate them
why don't they mount into loaders one operating joystick like on jcb 4cx with back forward and left right movement?Wouldn't be easier to operate the machine?
How would I go about getting a job driving these machines? I have been watching your channel for a while and just noticed you are in Wendell, I live in Archer Lodge. I have always thought it would be awesome to to be a heavy machine operator but never could figure out out how to be come one. Spent 15 years remodeling houses and have been looking for a career change. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
No Worries check your local community college, like Vance-Granville or equivalent. Southside Virginia Community College in Alberta VA started a truck driving/heavy equipment school at Ft. Pickett. It was the first in the state in 1998.
I notice alot of old timer operators use the machine's massive weight and low velocity to build enough momentum going into the pile . But they probably have every movement figured out by the mining engineers .
Every time you pick up rock, the frame rate drops, its like the camera cannot take in the majestic awesomeness of it!
Cool. One of my favorite pieces of equipment I love to operate.
Now that's a loader .It's a very nice looking machine to...Thanks for sharing buddy
I think you did good running a loader, everyone had a first time, I've run one for 15 years, and I could give pointers but you did better then some guys I've seen
Love the joystick steering and I'm just a volvo mechanic. It's so smooth and comfortable once you get used to it.
@Bjørn-Martin Fladvad and why is that Sir?
That L350H, was a real nice looking machine, and quiet too by the sounds of it, 'Volvo' have done it again..
Dang, Volvo's building some sexy equipment.
Its a beast, so different from what I ran in the 80's Cat 992
I used to operate a Terex 72-51b when serving in the British Army in the 90s

that was a joke I just watched it haha
you wont name him, but will you give hints to who it is? because the only equipment operator i watch is letsdig18....hence why im watching this video
It’s cringe worthy
It is worse when someone can rent one.
I watched the other guy's video and I'm confused, Really $3K for the job (a day and a half), that operator has 20 years of excavator experience?? I watched it twice, I thought it was some prank video.

100%
Conozco bien lo 980 h 980L muy bien
Very cool videos and cool loader keep it up
Everyone needs to play with toys sometimes! Nice job first time in the seat.
just like riding a bike
joystick steering on any loader is so, so much nicer than a wheel, or foot pedals if you are the track type. haha! ergonomics are great!
That would be a big time saver on the lake projects
Hey buddy if you had one of those loaders you could move some massive amounts of dirt and brush in a day. But you might need a couple more haul trucks. Another good video Chris as always, I look forward to the new one each day
Mmmm love the smell of diesel in the morning great vid
Nice video to relax too .
Love the loader in new it runs very smoot .
A life sized sand box. When I was a kid, I had a sand box in our spare room full of loaders, dump trucks, dozers. We used flour instead of sand.
Those are some BIG toys.
damn that looks like fun !!
Wow, that thing makes quick work of moving rock!
🤣🤣🤣that's just a little one that's a good size loader you did pretty good in that monster Chris 👍
Very nice driving the Volvo loader three skoops to load a 60 ton rocktruck Chris
I love the way they steer. It fills a little odd.
That looks like so much FUN! I don't have a cdl to operate machinery or I would have been doing it for years
so u know . there is no need for a cdl in mining . i've been an operator all my life without one
@Flexin 4VGT cool! Our county regulations an state here in Kansass and Missery are not as accommodating. Even someone who gets a warehouse job needs a cdl to use a fork truck. Contractors who use backhoes for plumbing work need cdls to operate them.
Nice machine!
your smile at the end, like a kid in the candy store..
That's a big ass loader and pretty sweet that you can drive it with joysticks.
very, very nice video... thank you....
You know it's a huge machine when it takes a staircase to get into the cab.
we like your new machine
Good job Volvo loader
You sure looked comfortable in it anyway
Those guts at the gravel/dirt/sand places have been using them every day for years. It takes time.
Does Volvo have any plans in the works yet for the Letsdig18 signature edition, with factory tint, camera mounts and wet bar???
dont forget the dents :P
that wii have to b an upgrade

He deserves the recognition with his own series!😎

Nice machine
sounds like a studio audience clapping when the overflow rocks fall :)
Like they say, anyone can run them (loaders)but it took me years to get good at them especially with the biter bucket and then more time to get used to the track one. I have all biter bucket on my equipment I wouldn't know what do do with two joysticks lol
Nice equipment, little different look
They must have one heck of a company to have the equipment they do.
I bet that Volvo equipment is expensive. Beautiful machines though.
I have to say, you dropped a couple, lol! Great machine! One thing though, what’s the depth below grade can you dig with an excavator? Like the 140 - the 220?
nice machine right there
Things a beast
The quarry near the old shop had an articulated cat loader with a 15 yd. bucket. Filled tandem dumps with one scoop.
Chuck Stevenson , this one can load a railcar in 5 and a semi in 1 1/4 buckets
So, how do you operate that joystick control? Specificley the left one Is the transmission hydrostatic, or torque converter with powershift? do you use a foot Throttle?

So how long till one of those replaces the skid steer? You could put in an entire gravel driveway in a single scoop!
You gonna get one huh, huh, huh? There have been jobs I've seen you so that one would have been handy. Especially, those clearing jobs with big rocks!
Nice footage, do they take it to a crusher and turn it into gravel or aggregate and road base material? Keep up the good work

Essa máquina e bruta viu😮
More counterweight or more power... for maximum loading and efficiency?
volvo loader are by far the smoothest loader out their ... them and cat too but only for the big loader ! the excavator i did not try volvo yet but i will have my chance lol
What do you think about the single ram on the bucket?
Does this loader have a scale inside that shows how much is in bucket
very Grate Volvo 350
DAMN,.....nice...!
Is the 350 comparable to like the Cat 988 or deere 944?
Nice job! ....13
That going too be your next new toy
That thing is huge
Bring it over!
boy you love volvo, do you get special discounts for buying their products?
I sure hope "Betty" doesn't find out about your escapades with Miss L350H! haha ha!
It’s not full until its coming over the greedy board of the bucket 👍 like I was told when I first got in a machine anyone can drive them but not everyone can operate them
Lol at the giddy up n go comment... sure sounded like it shifted nicely
Tonka Trucks, for real!
why don't they mount into loaders one operating joystick like on jcb 4cx with back forward and left right movement?Wouldn't be easier to operate the machine?

Are they using the first gear button? There's way too much wheelspin.
You got a vest on you look like you on a real job
I run a komatsu every day would love to try my skills on that
How much in cdn dollars?. We want one for a mine in the Yukon. . ps the truck should be 45 degrees to the loader and parked way closer
Gzz those check valves have got 2 be screaming when that bucket has got a mouth full
Looks like it's a bit faster than the old 988 I used to run.
The position of the rear wheel arch makes that machine look really front heavy
So this is the new machine! Jk that might do a bit of clearing in a hurry.
I hope a backup camera is standard ,you need it.
Do they have Trelleborg tires?
How much does one of those things cost?
I’m still waiting on the Volvo X-tra Loader Washing Machine-for those real dirty loads.
That thing would completely mess up a load of crush and run hell yeah
i see you is hands free when turing left or right
What does that machine cost ?? 1 hella a bucket load - WOW
Sure seems like you guys should have a grinder.
Volvo loader best masin...
No steering with the wheel? I guess it’s dual steering controls, joystick or wheel?
its a small joystick on the left side of the seat:)
new bucket design makes ya look good dunnit
I could see you driving that down the road from one job to another and giving someone a heart attack because you get one inch to close ta them
I notice alot of old timer operators use the machine's massive weight and low velocity to build enough momentum going into the pile . But they probably have every movement figured out by the mining engineers .
No, no't realy, just experience😂
That thing is TRICK!
That bucket looks like it's the size of a 30 yard dumpster no kidding with a little extra height but in the buckets case it would be depth
אשמח לדעת כמה מחיר לכלי כזה חדש ?
i drive these. looks like an 8 yard bucket or so they hold around 15 ton of material
Is your foot still doing the accelerator or is that joystick too?
HughzieTube if it's anything like the cat 966 I've been running only thing on the steering joystick is forward and reverse with gear up/dwn
