Meet Loïc Nottet, a superstar from Belgium who's been making waves in the music world since 2014. Born on April 10, 1996, in Charleroi, Wallonia, Belgium, Loïc is not just a singer, but also a songwriter and a dancer. His music style is a cool mix of electropop and synthpop, which is super catchy and fun to listen to.
Loïc's journey to stardom began when he participated in the third season of The Voice Belgique in 2014. He didn't win, but he did come in second place, which is still pretty impressive. His performances on the show were so good that he was chosen to represent Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. He performed his song "Rhythm Inside" and placed fourth, which is a big deal in the Eurovision world.
After Eurovision, Loïc released "Million Eyes", the first single from his debut album "Selfocracy". The song was a huge hit, topping the charts in Belgium and making it to the top 10 in France and Switzerland. His second studio album, "Sillygomania", was released on May 29, 2020.
But Loïc's talents aren't just limited to singing and songwriting. He's also a fantastic dancer. In fact, he won the sixth season of the French TV show Danse avec les stars in 2015.
Loïc's music is inspired by artists like Imagine Dragons, Lana Del Rey, Sia, and Dua Lipa. He's released several albums, including "Selfocracy" in 2017, "Sillygomania" in 2020, and "Addictocrate" in 2023. His song "Mr/Mme" even made it to the top 10 singles in France in April 2021.

I think the saddest part of this song is that he wrote it one night when he was feeling really down (it was just a simple text at the beginning but decided to turn this into a song and the last part was added after for the fans)
I love how Loic Nottet’s music and art makes us all take a look at ourselves. His content truly touches all his listeners. We could all related in some form. I hope he knows so many of us suffer at the hands of society and day to day life.

Thank you for your honest reaction. Loïc wrote the song himself at a moment he was very unhappy about something. We cried when this song came out. I's the only french song he wrote , all his other songs are in english. You should also watch 'Candy' , a shortfilm he made for Halloween. It's awesome. You just gotta love that guy , his fans do.

i was at his concert in november, and when he sang “merci” the whole arena yelled it with him, and i believe also to him. it was such a beautiful moment, it gives me goosebumps every time i hear it again because i recorded the whole thing and listen to it back every once in a while.
This is such a powerful song, it's no surprise it had you in tears my man. Hats-off for tackling it (subtitles and all). I'm bilingual and I just can't do the subtitles, so kudos there. I appreciate your genuine, emotional reaction to this song. It is one of Loïc's masterpieces in my opinion. I saw a comment here by Lieven De Bruyn recommending one of Loïc's life versions of this song and I second that. I would like to share two quotes that really help me personally get through the dark times, please take the time to understand them and take them in :

Now to not leave any chance for confusion, I must say that the first quote is merely that a quote the second one however is a verse from the Quran (Holy book of Islam) and so as you guessed it the speaker here is "God", however this is not me preaching the good word trust me, I just find these words comforting and so wanted to share them with you. The meaning is there whether you believe in God or not, I do hope this silly comment help you even a little. May the winds be ever at your back.

He's also so pure, I was listening an interview of him and during the convesation about this song (it was 2 years after its creation), he said very naturally, so simply : "Yes, I feel better, I decided to stop apologizing for existing". Currently crying my face off. Man Loic just gets me emotional. My wife is French and I had heard this song MANY times but I hadn’t seen the video or read the lyrics. I find each time I do listen to his music or dive deeper with the lyrics, first I get emotional then I want to put a cape on and learn to fly. Would need to become a superhero to stop all the needless pain/hate the citizens of this world inflict upon each other. His music inspires a deep change within my soul.

Nothing like a good rant at life!! I think the power of this song is in showing us that we're not alone in feeling "different" to how we perceive society wants us to be. We live in a world that wants to put us in convenient boxes. You're this, you're that, whatever, but none of us really fit in to those stereotypes. How we cope with that is the sometime seemingly impossible goal. Looking for guidance though is often the first step. I look, everyday, for some reason to be grateful. Whether it's simply waking up, or getting the green light in traffic on the way to work.
