Thank you for this upload. Cziffra was always thrilling in 'live' performances of this concerto. He always found something new to say and there is a true spontaneous and improvisatory style to many passages, particularly in the main first movement cadenza. There is no applause after this performance so I guess it must be different from the version I had many years ago issued by the Cziffra Society. After Cziffra's death in 1994 the Cziffra Societies of France, UK and America worked hard to find as many 'live' performances by Cziffra as they could. Most of the recordings now easily available on CZcams were as a result of their efforts including the BBC TV recitals.
Wow, this is definitely my favourite version of the Tchaikovsky version from Cziffra or anyone else. He really focuses on bringing the melody out in all the different voices. And the times of quiteness and the oh - so - dramatic moments. Wow. I am astonished yet again at how he could do this LIVE. Truly remarkable.
Both Froment and Cziffra were born the same year and left the world the same year too, in fact the conductor was exactly 1 month younger than the pianist

That is amazing! I am glad that they did that! His live performances also has something new to say. That is so cool.
