  • I’m showing you how to make comforting & moisturizing milk & butter bath bombs. The weather is turning cold so I wanted to share a relaxing bath bomb that's great for dry or chapped skin. These bath bombs are stunning, perform great in the tub, & have little chunks of butter that slowly melt in the water providing a moisturizing & relaxing milk bath! Yummy!
    RECIPE: 2 cups baking soda, 1 cup citric acid, 1 cup milk powder (I used coconut), ½ cup clay (I used kaolin), 1/8 cup titanium dioxide (this makes the water an opaque white, just like milk). + 3 teaspoons fragrance oil, 2 teaspoons polysorbate 80, 2 teaspoons oil (I used vitamin E). Sieve dry ingredients together. Coat 20 grams of butter (I used capuacu) with 2 tablespoons of dry mix. Cut the butter into desired size chunks then coat the newly sliced chunks with powder. Repeat. Put butter chunks in the dry ingredients. In a small cup, whisk wet ingredients together. Add wet to dry slowly while whisking (the slower the better)! Then rub mix between your hands to ensure ingredients are thoroughly incorporated. ** Squeeze mixture; it should stay together to form a solid clump! OPTIONAL: Divide batch evenly into 2. For different reactions in the water, add 1/8 cup of sodium lauryl sulfoacetate to one batch. For different colored swirls, add additional color to other batch. {Take ¼ Cup of mix. Add mica & 2 teaspoons oil (vitamin E) (so mica doesn’t become airborne & you don’t inhale it). Mix this, then add it to the other batch. MOLDING: Place some mix in, then sprinkle just a tiny bit of decorative salt on the very edges. ** Don’t put too much or the salt will not fuse with the mix & will eventually fall out. The amount of salt & how many times you apply is all up to you! Repeat for other half. Smoosh 2 sides firmly together until both molds touch all the way around. Tap both sides with spoon to release bomb. Dry for 24 hours. SALTS: Add 1 drop brown to 1/4 cup Epsom salt & mix. Spray alcohol to loosen the color then mix until salts are even. Add the salt & mica to a container with a lid & shake. This is so you don’t inhale the mica. If you want to fuse the salt to the bomb so it doesn’t fall off, simply melt some butter (I used capuacu). Add butter where you want the salt. Then place salt on top. Gently push it into the butter. Wait about 15 seconds until its dry. The salts are glued in place & are not going anywhere! I really enjoyed this bath bomb & my skin felt very soft & moisturized.

    Coating the butter with dry mix is a brilliant idea!!!! I think you may have saved my Christmas gifts.
    I've been making a lightly foaming bath salt mix to give as gifts, but for my skin it's a touch drying so I added grated cocoa butter to a test portion. It felt wonderful to soak in but the cocoa butter all clumped together.
    You're a lifesaver!!!

    Hello Dora, I simply love making your Bath Bombs. I am finding this all brings so much joy to my life. I have made the Milk and Butter Bath Bomb’s twice. On both occasions they feel to dry to me and crumble. I get about 50% of the bombs from the mix. I am wondering if there is anything that you can put into the stainless steel mold to release the bomb easier? Also, what can I do to give the mix more moisture? My grandkids just love that I am doing this. Next I want to tackle the Galaxy Bath Bomb. Thank you so much for your wonderful shares. Your Bath Bombs are amazing and make great gifts.

    So, I'm wondering about the stability of the "butter". (In higher temps)... wouldn't there be issues with melting? Would cocoa butter chunks work? Or would they not melt as well in the water? Just curious.. I'd love to try this. Thanks!

      i am not Dora, but you could use any hard butter, shea, cocoa, mango...using the dry hard butter instead of a liquid oil makes for less wet ingredients, and the hot water dispersing it is awesome! vitamin E is rich, so by using the hard butter it was good to use it. not too oily. just right! and then u get 2 beneficial skin oils with different benefits for the skin.

    • @TheZoggydog
      @TheZoggydog Před 2 lety

      Oh, nevermind, lol. I figured it out. The video is a little clearer than the directions. Interference Gold Mica and Warm Space Pearl Mica both go in the main mix, and then you divide the mix into two batches. One batch gets Warm Space. The salts also get Warm Space. Think I got it!

    • @CreativeBathLab

      Whenever bombs come apart in the middle, its a molding issue. Lightly pack it when its filled to the top, then put loose on top. Smoosh 2 sides together. The loose mix on top fuses both halves together. when they break in the middle, something went wrong at this point.
