- Every year it's hit or miss if it's going to be a good season or not. After going once it's hard to say if it's going to be great but there's definitely more than last year. Thanks for watching!
Hey Capt! Glad you are sharing again 👍😎 Looks like all is well 🐟🐟🐟
Have missed your video glad to see again

Captain, Fishing is boring, catching is exciting. Keep the videos coming. Great work.
I want to do videos on days off and help explain more. Recording every charter get super repetitive and takes a lot of time away from my family everyday. I’ll try to get back into it
I used this video as a quick guide and man, I'm not sure you should be recommending this boat launch as path. The markers are very tough to read if they're even exist. It's VERY shallow with lots of rocks heading out. The 10 minute ride to the scalloping location took me 2 hours. I destroyed my prop as I hit a ton of rocks and run aground countless times. Got my truck stuck and had to get pulled out. This launch and path is a locals only spot in my opinion. I had a local tell me it took him 10 years to learn how to navigate the area. I'll go to crystal river next time. For the record, I was in a pontoon boat with the motor trimmed up as high as possible.
I said follow the red lines on Florida marine tracks. If you don’t have Florida marine tracks then you’re gonna hit a lot of stuff if you don’t know where you’re going. I’ve never met anyone that had an issue going out of there
@@capt.justinwhaley-jwfishin6896 I certainly missed that part and had LOTS of issues...I'll look into "Florida Marine Tracks". Thanks for the reply!
@@alexpowell7526I use the John Brown boat ramp all the time and I have never seen a pontoon launch from there. You should have noticed that it is an unimproved boat launch. Now if you have the appropriate equipment you can easily use that boat launch with a pontoon and navigate without problems to get to the scallop area, also it will give you quick access to monkey Island area and some of the best snook and redfish fishing in the mangroves. A truck with four-wheel drive and a Garmin chart plotter with coastal maps which will clearly show you the exact route to take and can literally keep you within 20 ft of your charted route.
Fun day !
Hello, I’m now with my family at the point, but I can’t find the location well. Could you help me with the one exactly?
When is the season to go out there?
Ill be taking my kayak
Nice. Been wondering where you been. I’m waiting until next “work week” to even bother with crystal river.
I wouldn’t bother with cr that’s why I stick to yankeetown lol
@@capt.justinwhaley-jwfishin6896 all the ramps are crazy and I cannot justifying storing either boat at twin rivers.
Thanks for posting. Speaking Of Saint Martin’s river can you get out there with no jack plate with a gheenoe Yamaha 25 short shaft at low tide?
Yes if you have fmt you can run anywhere
hey man i was wondering what sd card you have that shows the red line are you using navionics? i have a hummingbird helix 9 and i was curious cause i launched out there last weekend prior and it was a hell of time getting back in
Florida marine tracks is the only way to go inshore!
@@capt.justinwhaley-jwfishin6896 i don’t think i can get it with hummingbird 😢 but ready to go back again and planning on it! i’ll let you know and we can link up and scallop lmk what you think
@@derekburns1685 hummingbird belongs in the trash can
@@capt.justinwhaley-jwfishin6896 🤣 came with the boat
@@derekburns1685 why’s it still on the boat?
IOzello is a naturalramp and looks easy to put into if high tide, true?
Tide doesn’t matter for smaller boats. Deep hull might have issues
@@capt.justinwhaley-jwfishin6896 Justin, can you tell me what you charge to take me (1 person) out for a half day to target redfish when the season is better? I am 71 and could meet you either at Ozello or other ramps. I really want to target Redsand Snook.
@@RobertKnauerUnfiltered my favorite is mid September for big redfish and October is usually good for snook reds drum and trout mix. I start at 400 for 1 and 500 for 2 people. I do most of my fishing out of yankeetown
@@capt.justinwhaley-jwfishin6896 sounds good to me, but are you saying that Ozello are is no good that time of year?? or that structure is better in Y town?
@@RobertKnauerUnfiltered everything is just easier in yankeetown
