She really misses you and she's all alone in Chicago" the fact that he's a CHILD and he's the one that has to reach out to his mom is so wrong, he shouldn't have to be the adult and be the one to make contact, it should be the opposite way. I've also totally been there where a parent forces their child to meet their new partner before they're ready. It's really selfish and not fair to the kids, and in the middle of their musical?? That's really not fair. I just really feel for him.

Ricky is my favorite character in the series because he and I have kinda gone through similar stuff. I feel like a can relate to him so much.
Ricky's character really hits hard for me. I've been a fan of this show for about a month maybe and when he went through the divorce I related a lot, my parents told me a week ago they're getting divorced
Seeing him also go through that just really hit hard tbh..
The fact that he was more mature than his parents during the divorce broke my heart because Id be the one that would have to stand in between my parents when they would fight
I was sobbing at these scenes and I feel so bad for Ricky!!

I have a bad feeling that something bad gonna happen to Ricky, or his dad. His pontentials in s2 in my headcanon. Can be:
1) His dad might get a heartattack and might possibly die (don't worry he'll survive.) It'll give him a new perspective on life in general, and his mom comes back to help, and she brings todd (she's the worst) and adjusts thru the whole season.
2) Ej and him, become platonic friends and similarly to Max and Eleven's friendship. Since Ej single, he'l help Ricky cope with long distancing with Nini and tells him to lose up.
3) He gets the role of chip, since he's juggling with his home life. He's not ready to take the lead this year.
4) Anxiety (Maybe even depression). After ep 9, he was clearly having a attack after seeing his mom and todd, he was shaking and panting and let EJ take over. So I think this would give a highlight to his character and how vulnerable he is in gerenal so he's afraid to get help. And he'll reach a breaking point near midway (since s2 might pontentially have more have more episodes than s1)
5) Rini break up, since Nini was in another school, when she choses the school over Ricky, she comes back realoaing that so much has happened and she not sure of how to cope with them knowing she wasn't there so at the end of the season, they break up. And it's realistic. Giving us slow run vibes.
6) Bullying. I know these are very bad stuff happening but I feel it would be good to raise awareness about and they'd be episode on antibullying. (Maybe cyberbullying because it's common within high school)
Honestly, that would be a great storyline !

I just want to know how people can hate him in Season 1. Like I know he wanted Nini back and he fought so hard to break her and EJ up, BUT his mom left his house. And I don't mean just leave - like moved to Chicago and hadn't seen him in weeks kind of leave. She essentially abandoned her child and then complained about never seeing him when SHE chose that herself. All Ricky wanted was someone stable in his life and he thought it would be Nini, as she had always been the one person he could count on.
Ricky has always been a sweet boy, but he's been through so much. Everyone always comes at him for how hard it is for him to communicate but look at who his examples have been - anyone in his situation would have a hard time communicating.
S3 ended on a good note because Gina is someone who actually understands the neglectful parent thing; they relate more than Nini with her two perfect moms. And I'm not saying Ricky's father doesn't try, but dating a teacher and risking ruining that safe place for him was also just as shitty as what his mom did.

The main reason I love this show is because of Ricky. I can relate to him so much, my friends alwways have these fun families where their biggest worries are getting in trouble for bad grades. Meanwhile I have to worry about stuff that shouldn't even be a problem

this really hurt. he was so scared and hurt. when him and nini broke up i bet he hurt even worse. he's dealing with a lot. i know he's fictional but i empathize with him. i feel so bad for how much he's going through.

J'ai pas envore regardé la série High School Musical mais j'ai vu plusieurs truc sur ça et surtout sur Ricky et sans avoir vu je l'aime trop, et du coup ta vidéo est super (encore une fois)...
En fait à chaque fois j'ai l'impression de me répéter, mais bon c'est tout le temps génial ce que tu fais donc je saurai pas quoi dire d'autre
Aussi je te remercie énormément car cela faisait super longtemps que je voulais regarder Skam et il y a un peu moins d'un mois en retombant sur ta vidéo Skam France crack saison 3 et 4, ça ma poussé à commencé et qu'est-ce que j'adore. J'ai regardé en moins d'une semaine les 5 saisons et du coup le début de la saison 6 (oups j'ai peut-être abusé mais bon on est en confinement quoi) et la je viens de commencer Skam Norvège... Donc voilà tout ça pour te dire merci beaaaaaucoup ❤
Perso, j'ai regardé par curiosité, et même si c'est assez cliché parfois, la série reste cool dans son ensemble. C'est loin d'être le désastre que tout le monde avait prédit, et le personnage de Ricky est vraiment touchant ☺️
Sinon, je suis contente que Skam te plaise, le remake Français est cool, mais j'aurais toujours une préférence pour Skam Norvège ❤️

As much as I like Ricky I can’t help but feel he doesn’t have a way of dealing with things it’s kinda like when things don’t go his way .... *mental breakdown * and I’m not saying don’t deal with your feelings and that you can’t feel sad but that’s just how life works I mean sure I have bad days at school sometimes but I won’t skip school just because of it I need to accept it and suck it up. Besides Ricky is 16/17 he needs to grow up a little and not just breakdown all the time. All his friends and family have to be his “personal therapist “ and deal with all of his stuff. Tbh if I was his friend I would be a little tired of it. But again this is just my opinion and I’m very much aware that people deal with stuff differently this is what I have observed from mine and a viewers perspective .
