  • How can Singapore be truly Green? While the island nation seeks to grow in harmony with nature, it has to grapple with the legacy of deforestation, wildlife trading and a population boom. “Singapore in Green” explores how future development can be done in balance with nature and greenery. Advances in science, medicine, wellbeing, education and architecture are unlocking the power of green. When the pandemic dawned, more Singaporeans reconnected with nature and discussions about forest conservation trended. But protecting forests is complicated on a small highly-urbanised island. Deforestation has led to violent conflict between humans and wildlife. So Singapore’s quest to be
green involves coexisting with wildlife and stopping the illegal wildlife trade.
Singaporeans are rediscovering their farming heritage as the nation attempts to produce more food locally, but a shortage of land for food farming makes this challenging. What solutions will enable Singapore to get the right balance?

    面積が小さいのもそうだし、もともと熱帯雨林だったところを切り拓いた人工都市という性格だから、緑を守るのって本質的に難しそう

We could ban cars with high gas consumption. Bye bye Ferrari, Lamborghini etc... In fact, why not go all electric? Singapore is nice and small.

Singapore and Brunei are really useful when both countries implement or promote electric cars. A home charging station is all that's needed.
