The Cyber-shot DSC-HX300 Digital Camera from Sony is a "bridge" camera with a 20.4MP back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor with a 50x optical zoom lens. The CMOS sensor combined with the BIONZ image processor create photos and videos with sharp details, accurate colors and minimal noise. It is particularly effective in low light with ISO sensitivity that extends to 12800. On the low end, an ISO sensitivity of 80 will create images with saturated colors and rich tones. The image processing engine and sensor in the HX300 offer fast response times and autofocus speeds and a continuous shooting rate of 10fps at full resolution.
The Carl Zeiss Sonnar-Vario T* 50x optical zoom lens is equivalent to a 24-1200mm lens in the 35mm format. With a broad focal range that extends from wide-angle to ultra telephoto, it is capable of handling almost any shooting situation. Its maximum aperture of f/2.8 at the wide-angle end is effective in low light and offers shallow depth of field options. In addition, Optical SteadyShot image stabilization compensates for camera shake to provide sharp images when shooting in low light and at the long focal lengths provided by this lens.
Full HD 1080p video capture is supported by the HX300 at 60fps and lower resolution video capture allows you to shoot videos sized to be directly uploaded to the web. SteadyShot Active Mode offers image stabilization for video that will smooth out clips shot while moving.

i always recommended this camera its all you need in one ,its easy to use and all what you need as professional and amateur photographer,i have sony nex-7 , and in my opinion hx-300 its even better.

Is it possible to buy outside charger to battery in this model? and is it possible as in canon sx50 making photo shots during filming? and to buy some filters to lens as UV , solar ? it's possible to take on end of the lens some very important filters ? ( in canon sx 50 or 40 you can) please give me speed answer because I consider to buy this one or canon sx50 and don't know which one choose. Soory for my English I'm from Poland.

You can buy any accesories for this camera on ebuy,but its not sony accesories.About canon i have not any experience with this cameras.My recommendation is hx300.

How long does a simple battery last for a continous video shot?
Long enough, after 25 minutes camera going overheating so ....one shot maximum about 30 minutes.

Looks like it does very good on a tripod...camera can't compensate 100% for all the hand shaking...colors are very accurate and images are crisp and clear...looking for a new camera, but I don't want to shell out 1300 for the RX10

ten aparat ma tylko jedna wade jest wiekszy od swoich poprzednikow ,ja od roku uzywam nex7 ale zdecydowalem sie kupic ten model z mysla o video i nie zawiodlem sie( faktycznie ma lepsza video stabilizacje)napewno warto,a zdjecia jakosciowo tez zadowalajace nawet na duzym formacie wydruku,pozdrawiam.

Hello Jacek! I enjoyed the presentation of the HX300. I have some doubts about the maximum zoon this camera. I saw in another video from the same camera and zoon was far below their. Is there a difference between zoon zoon for photos and videos for this camera?

Hi, zoom in this camera is pretty good ,only can be limited by air clarity,you can extend zoom in by use digital zoom, there is no huge difference between video and photos both are good , i dont know nothing about wx300 stabilization which is most importand in power zoom cameras.

Witam, mam pytanie. Czy zgrywając zdjęcia z modelu hx300 na komputer istnieje możliwość wprowadzenia na nie daty (data lub data z godziną). Wygląda to jak by była nadrukowana na zdjęcie. W starym Nikonie miałem taką opcję która była bardzo przydatna. Z góry dziękuję za odpowiedź.

Zoom is incredible. Movies r awesome. But, mode selection switch was easily broken, and i bought one more for almost 100 usa dollars, sadly... Mending service fix it in 2 weeks. Parts came quickly... May be i wasn't gentle to my poor camera...

but hs 50 have only 15 sec.exposure time(important thing for me),and worst stabilization,and worst video quality 24fps vs sony 30fps which make video smoother,about screen I agree.
when im recording with this camera the videos break apart like 10 minutes later. is this normal? can i turn off this option?

I jeszcze jedno, w Sony wyświetlacz LCD porusza się tylko w górę i w dół co mnie osobiście bardzo przeszkadza. W Canonie i Panasonicu ekran nie dość że jest wyciągany, to jeszcze obraca się niemal we wszystkich kierunkach-to już od dawna powinien być standard-mówię do Sony ;P
dzieki za opinie ale aparatu z 24 krotnym zoomem nie mozna nazwac megazoomem ,kieszonkowe kompacty maja teraz po 30 x zoom(Sony Cyber-shot DSC HX50 ),a ilosc pixeli ma duze znaczenie chocby podczas cropowania ,wycinania .Co do wyswietlacza to sie zgodze.Jeszcze jedna kwestia co do megapixeli,faktycznie wiekszosc z nas teraz oglada zdjecia w rozdzielczosci 1920x1080 ,ale w sprzedazy juz sa ekrany 4K(4,096 x 2,160 pixels)czyli to ma sens.tak czy siak jeszcze raz dzieki za komment.

To zależy jak na to patrzeć, ale jeśli rozpatrujemy to tylko w kwestii mega, to Panasonic fz72 (70) ma zoom 60x.;P Nie żebym był jakimś zagorzałym fanem Panasonica, po prostu dla mnie liczy się przede wszystkim jakość zdjęć, bo przecież do tego są stworzone aparaty, nawet nie żeby pokazywać jak najładniejsze zdjęcie obrobione cyfrowo przez aparat czy inne programy typu fotoshop, ale żeby oddać najwierniej rzeczywistość i to co w niej najciekawszego. Reszta bajerów aparatu typu zoom i wiele, wiele innych dodatków ma pomagać przy fotografowaniu a nie wysuwać się na pierwszy plan jak widzą to co niektórzy zachwycając się megazoomami. Aparat jest do robienia zdjęć a nie do walki o tytuł najlepszego wśród zoomów, choć konkurncja jest jak najbardziej potrzebna, bez niej nie ma postępu ;) Pozdrawiam ;)
sony HX 300 LCD jest zaletą bo nie przeszkadza w trudnych warunkach , np lumiks 1000 jest b dobry

Witam! Czy mógłbyś podać jaki jest czas ładowania lampy błyskowej? Chodzi mi oczywiście o czas od zrobienia 1 zdjęcia z lampą do zrobienia 2 zdjęcia z lampą.
hej trudno to zmierzyc a sony nie podaje takich specyfikacji w ogole, lampa napewno nie wymaga czasu ladowania szybkosc zdjec robionych z lampa moze zalezec jedynie od czasu zapisu zdjecia,co zalezy od tysiaca czynnikow szybkosci zapisu karty,ustawien aparatu itp itd .Srednio to wychodzi jakos 2-3 sekundy :-?
