XXL Harvest Special | Franzen Agriculture | Potatoes & carrots | Planting tulips & wheat

- Harvest 2021 has finished and at the end of the year it is time to look back. We visit Dutch farming enterprise Franzen Agriculture one more time. Onions, potatoes and carrots are being harvested using large scale harvesting machinery. We also see how the tulip bulbs are planted and how winter wheat is being sown.
During this 18 minute video you will see a lot of interesting harvesting technology from Dewulf supported by Fendt tractors and many more interesting pieces of technology. These are often especially developed for Dutch farming. Information is given with each machine and more is said about the farming techniques and crops. An essential farming education for anyone interested in agriculture worldwide!

@@Agrifotodotnl Well i don't know much about farming and what crops can you farm but it would be really nice to see some really weird crops like grapes, rice, pumpkins, asparagus or even some animal work like pigs, cows and sheep. It would be really nice to watch and gave you a chance to show us more big machinery. But that is probably to much to ask you so if you show us more how farms operate.😉

Video is so succesfull. It shows every angle on the harving. Potatoes are a bit hard but income is really satisfying. We manifacture conveyor systems on them. Selling them to manifold ares. In middle of our country, a lot of people is working on farming potatoes.

@@tony98discovery Modern yes, but quite small-scale fields (relatively speaking). Switzerland for me. It's quite hilly. That's why we don't have huge fields.

Is it expensive to operate a harvester?
26 ton trailer- 🇬🇧1980s. With a single row harvester with up to 10 souls on board, we once did 26 tons in one day- 56 pound paper bags.
Same order after the harvester ‘broke’, we picked 27 tons off the ground. Going from driver to picker I picked up 66, 56 pound bags.
All the bags were hand loaded onto trucks- in those days a truck was limited to 50 tons, not yet using tonnes.
If I was actually bagging on the harvester not driving the tractor, on a normal day I would expect to handle (any individual bags multiple times) 4,000 bags with at least 1000 thrown. In a season I would still have not gained or lost any fat or muscle mass.
Concurrent to the potato season was hay season for multiple farmers- small, rectangular bales man handled into barns- and driving silage for multiple farmers.
Oh, the good old days.

They are plastic and they can be recycled and re-used each year.
