The statement from Richard Roll who worked at Fujitsu from 2001 to 2004 makes it clear:
The Horizon system was developed for the Benefits Agency who pulled out.
Horizon was then sold to the Post Office and modified to try to meet their requirements.
Coding and development of the system did not meet quality standards for a major software project. It was a poor system which should never have been deployed.
Fujitsu was in a very poor position financially at the time and the Horizon project was all that was keeping the company afloat.(during my time at Fujitsu, there was a pay freeze and numerous cut backs/redundancies) consequently, the system had to be portrayed as
    working almost perfectly.
Therefore the evidence beyond a reasonable doubt, is that all post office staff, external solicitors and barristers were stupid.

How did this organisation manage to function with senior staff like this ?? Government cash used to cover up all their failures , who was looking after the Public Interest ??

Given the way in which a large number of POL employee's have answered questions in this forum, there should be a clearout of all those that had a memory problem, Simple if they cannot remember basic information, they obviously have a capability issue.

The irony is, it’s critical information they cannot remember.
If the crew told the captain there was a hole in the ship and the ship sank, it’s like the captain saying they don’t remember being told about the hole!

This one is going down and is going down fast ! The whole management including Paula Vennells will now use him as the scapegoat, blaming him deliberately misleading them on the integrity of Horizon. Of course everyone knows that Ismay could not water down the wordings all by himself without the explicit approval of the management, hence he was praised in the email by the management!

Someone at Fitjutsu should be able to tell ALL the BUGS at the start (1999). NEW BUGS and fixed BUG.
The weekly differences on all SPM accountants.
All the bugs would then be identified (there are probably 100's). The differences on SPM accounts will similarly run into many thousands of branches. 5,000+ ?

The obvious question is whose Lawyer is it? The PO or an outside solicitor and who is paying?

    His evidence to the inquiry is: "I don't remember" "I don't remember" "I don't remember" "I don't remember".............................................................................

Beyond reasonable doubt. Anyone with reason would doubt the findings of the POL.

All the post office management top to down had contracts to do their jobs efficiently with a duty of care to its employees and now they do not remember anything ! Lies lies lies ! When it comes to postmasters they were always referred back to their contracts ! How shameful these people are ready to excuse everything and anybody but do not blame themselves in any wrongdoing!! Jail them 1 by 1
