I mean yeah, but those early darts are questionable. A couple of the overpressure kills definitely wouldn't have happened with the dart and a few of the armor hits it might not have penetrated. Worth bringing a few along I think. Large caliber HEAT is definitely better than 76-90mm.

Something was going on last night. I was having a ton of lag as well. Not packet loss, not ping, just game stuttered like mad, especially when SPAAs were about, at least that’s what it felt like. Gaijin messed something up last night lol.
I initially thought the ATGMs would be a gimmick and would be hard to use. Turns out it's easier to use than even TOWs in Bradleys, BMPs, and Marders, considering this is a prototype vehicle 😂

i love this tank i grinded out a good chunk of the tech tree with it when i played a crafting event.... literally unlocked it at the start of the event played it during the event and then stopped using it.... its still my top vehicle ... (i have 1500 hours) so it shows how much grinding crafting events require

ya the heat may be powerful but those darts are just better in my opinion. and from my rigorous testing of both darts. (I'll refer to them by their Russian designation.) while both darts are pretty sad in all honesty, the 3MB3 dart definitely deals more post pen damage at most angles while the 3MB4 just really doesn't like to spall, I don't know why

Genuine question: how does this thing with a 120mm gun have more pen than the most modern NATO MBTs with 120mm guns? I do not understand, same goes for Soviet 115mm HEAT on the T-62 which pens more than modern NATO 120mm HEAT.
HEAT works in a different way to say an APFSDS round, even in terms of penetration.
Too many aspects can change how well or bad such shell will work, how much can or cannot penetrate and so on.
Soviets used estimate values for their HEAT shells both in the theorical and practical testing, to say the 115mm one could penetrate a minimum thickness of 460mm to a maximum of 520mm (3BK15M). What it leads to such variantion is related to single shell component, from the fuze, to the explosive compound used, to the shaped cone material.
One know fact and issue in the NATO weaponry was the fuze used in the early M456 HEAT rounds (105mm), which used to led into issues while striking a too angled surface; by testing it, it was found how even the UFP of the T-54/55 and T-62 could lead to such issue (not triggering the fuze then let the HEAT to generate the proper jet of metal). A simple rework of it and the new M456A2 was issued in service.
Then we have the NATO shells that moved from a proper HEAT to a more flexible HEAT-MP (multipurpouse), in few words the 120mm HEAT-MP are used for a variety of targets and not only light armored AFVs, you use them against troops and buildings, so it's needed more an explosive effect than an anti-tank (one reason that why now the Germans are using the DM11 as a proper HE-frag rounds, and not the DM12A1 which is a HEAT-MP).
This changes other than doctrinals are also technicals, nowadays the only proper anti-armor shell is the APFSDS, the HEAT losed it's edge while composite and reactive armors being used more widely by many countries.

Chinese quality control probably. A lot of their tech was just worse Soviet technology.
While technically a 120mm, it's not a good 120mm. Keep in mind that this project was heavily influenced by the tech taken from the captured Soviet T-62 and a lot of it carried over. The gun was essentially a reverse engineered U-5TS that combined essentially T-62 ammo in a larger gun that couldn't withstand the pressure that even the T-62 could (359 MPa when firing APFSDS with a propellent at 15°C for the U-5TS while this Chinese 120mm could only achieve around 310 MPa from what I could find, around 10 MPa below a Chieftain firing L15A5 in the same conditions).
The numbers probably wouldn't be exactly the same (potentially worse), but I have a feeling those numbers probably aren't floating around to be easily found so the T-62's rounds are the closest fit.
As already explained it was not a good gun since being heavily influenced by the captured T-62.
A same example is the Type 89 tank destroyer (PTZ-89) which feature a 120mm smoothbore gun that was capable, but as their new (by the time of introduction) 125mm gun were used, its role decayed and was fully retired from the service (while China keep upgrade their 125mm shell line, and also the 105mm, see the ZTQ-15 what can use as main APFSDS shell, quite impressive for an outdated main gun by nowaday standards).

what audio settings did you use (eq or ingame)? for some reason in your videos i can hear enemy clearly, but in my game im having a hard time hearing the enemy
I have my engine turned down but I don't use anything external, just in game settings! :)

Until that day, it is so obvious Gaijin makes Russian tanks better when their own math and physics engine refutes what they are capable of, yet they still over perform.

Pen wise no, but you can use either if you want.
I used to spade the T-62 (baseline) with a mixed load of HEAT and the APFSDS with more angled pen.
Not better, but different. but yes, you want to main the Sabot, and take maybe 5 of these as backup for situations where you need it :)
