  • You might be a workaholic if you're watching this from the office while answering emails, eating breakfast, writing a report and listening to a conference call. More than 1,000 people responded to a new CBSThisMorning.com survey, and 38 percent said they fit that label. The Energy Project founder and CEO Tony Schwartz joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss how to make smarter choices at the office.

Gary Vaynerchuk seems to be a rising motivational guru. Now I respect this guy but his advice is to work like a dog. He spent about 14 years from 20 on working fourteen to sixteen hours a day and now is a mega millionaire. My question is this : is that really worth it? This week I am advising something to my subscribers which I call "controlled laziness." Because if you want to increase your assets you can learn to invest well and it isn't that hard to manage once you have your strategy. But I'm not a fan of the eighty hour work week. For example, I am a contract physical therapist who can make 100K a year. But if I opened a clinic I could probably double that. And have an extra 30 hours a week running a business. They can have that. And that is my point. You can become successful and still become wealthy with smart investing and not sacrifice your life like Gary V does. You have one spin on earth as far as we know. You want to achieve greatness in all your planes--not just on the time clock. Hope this helps someone out there---Charles.

I got a friend who has a workaholic boss. People don’t leave until the boss does. And it’s not uncommon for them to sign out at 8 or 830. Then be at work by 7 the following day. So essentially 11 hour days and they work 8 hours I’ve the weekend. So basically you gotta pull 60 hour weeks there and that’s during regular, not overly busy periods. I work 9 hour days and work during my lunch. But 45 hours is WAY better than 60+ plus lol

I disagree with the host. Multi tasking is a sign of intelligence..

There are many types of intelligence. You are probably referring to the practical intelligence. Who says it is the only correct one? Or the most correct one. Sensory people say that? Well of course because they have validation of the majority of the society that they must be right. Well I say that the emotional intelligence which also understands elimination of stress is essential for evolution. When you are effectively multi-tasking does not mean you are in homeostasis.
