I own a pair of the new L100 classic black edition speakers as well as a pair of 1980 L100a speakers. The older L100a speakers are efficient and sound great with my Fisher 202b tube integrated amplifier and my McIntosh MC225 amplifier. I’m not sure how I feel about the new L100s. My perception is that they need solid state amplification because they are 4 ohm speakers. Harmon shows them with Mark Levinson power amplifiers at their NYC store. I’ll try a McIntosh MC462 or Pass Labs 250.8 next. Like all good equipment, matching with the right components is important.
Nice. I have mine on a very similar pair of stands that I built out of Baltic birch plywood with casters. It’s nice to be able to move them about. I think these speakers are sensitive to the distance they are from the rear wall - want more bass, try about 17”from the back to the wall. If you want a tighter sound with less bass, pull them out so that the back is about 20” from the rear wall.
Why do Amplifier Manufacturers dictate their amps perform best when piled on or nearest the ground between the loudspeakers? I've worked hard all my life & I will only buy an amplifier that can be positioned waist high or higher. Does Jack-Fi have any of this type to offer?
They don't. It's just a trend in hifi these days to put the amps on the floor between the speakers. You can just as easily put them on a stand. Just try to keep them behind the front of the speakers so that they have room to form a soundstage
Classic blk edition has some of the mark 2 improvements as in upgraded woofer and dual.binding posts..not sure if the crossover is up to the mark2level though.
I came here to ask about that. I don’t see any indication of MK2. Do you know if MK2 also has any special editions? The JBL website is comically bad and Google searches keep showing me MK1.
Gorgeous. But are these MK2 though? The labeling doesn’t seem to indicate that. Also, there is a different Special 75th Edition that is all wooded veneer, but I think that one is also not MK2. Please let me know. Thanks!
Piano gloss finish. Oh yea... 😍😍
Anything that lived in your home not only it suppose to sound good but also need to be a piece of art as well.
Pretty cool! I bough the L100 classic MKII in july this year. Got the classic orange.
Beautiful. A real classic reimagined.
Wow, best in its class. Absolutely amazing!!!
Magnetic grilles would have been nice.
Like the vintage look and I bet they sounded even better after 32 hours of use.
awesome
Superb, thanks for sharing. Much better with the grills off.
Great speakers 👍🏻

Very nice video, thanks for sharing! What’s the electronics lineup in use here?
They're some serious audio gears...
perfect !
Cool, only left dust cup on bass speaker has been damaged and repaired seems to me.
Looking good! ☺️ what’s the name of the first song you play?🎼
Wow
Come si sposano con Yamaha a-s1200?
Holy shit this is amazing
From where did you get these stands?
DIY

I agree. I want my units waist high or above.
Something a bit uncontrolled in the highs and not quite intergrating with the mids or the bass.
Are you sure that this is MKII - even if it’s not written on the box or on the sign at the speaker?
Yeah I wondered that too? But the "binding posts" are MKII for sure.

I own these. A brilliant speaker!
How about low frequency response? Is it enough to listen music without additional subwoofer?
i own today and next step is sa 750
how much are the speakers going for and can i get them threw you?
That is l100 classic black edition
Not L100 mk2 classic

Price
$6k

Its much cheaper to do the same than produce the 2 different, isnt it?
@@PH-gm2qeabsoluter Schwachsinn.
JBL L100 CLASSIC SOUND HORRIBLE, the midrange driver and tweeter are crap.
And it only goes down to 40k, with a 12" woofer !!! No thanks.
Sounds horrible.
