- In this exclusive film for Sotheby’s, singer songwriter Robbie Williams and his friend and creative collaborator, Ed Godrich have invited us into their artist studio, where we see their large-scale black and white paintings in the making. Together the two have formed a unique artistic partnership and have been creating original art together for the past five years. In this film we learn about their artistic inspiration that started with Banksy and the 1990s rave and music scene. We hear about their own view of themselves as artists and their unique creative process ahead of a dedicated selling exhibition at Sotheby’s this May.

Banksy -> Brainwash -> Robbie = tons of conversations about the intersections of artistry and commodity. I can't think of a better singer to tackle that ideology in this context.
There are too many true artists suffering true depression like banksy, van Gough so many their art needs more attention, robin Williams can raise money by doing concerts of what he originally is why to fake art and painting
Let there be some genuinely talented painter instead
@@MakhdoomSadiqKhan art isn't a zero-sum game. No one is taking anything away from you or other artists by creating art of their own. You "suffering true depression" because there are other artists in the world getting attention is not a legitimate reason to tell other artists to not create. Either get help, and/or pour it into your own work, but you don't get to restrict, silence, or quash other artistic expression because you don't like that it exists. That's not how art works.
@@DS-uh6sswith all due respect you didn't get my point, i don't mean to restrict anyone from doing art either riches or poor, do art everyone, i am only saying this big celeberities should leave place of other fields for other deserving artist and they sponsor them , art and artists are suffering badly Sir , don't give me a place ever , don't praise me ever, but atleast praise a deserving artist instead big celeberities, why can't we sell in auction a painting of an emerging talented deserving artist, may be you are from that privileged part of society and artists ❤️

The same people/fans who buy one of Robbie's pieces are not making a singular choice between your art and his, and no one is being steered away from yours by seeing his. If Bob Dylan sells a metal sculpture, or Magne Fururholmen has a show in London, they aren't directly robbing YOU of anything. You don't get to tell anyone who is "deserving" of praise, and you also don't know how much celebrities like Fiona Apple, Dolly Parton, and Aimee Mann use their art to connect and sponsor others. Furthermore, why should a musician be limited to one form of art? Just because David Bowie was a musician doesn't mean he wasn't also a visual artist. And just because Joni Mitchell isn't personally offering to sponsor you doesn't mean she's taking art and space AWAY from you. It's not a simple binary of either/or. You can also interrogate art and resources and fame without creating some sort of scenario where every celebrity who has a show is somehow personally attacking and denying you as an artist.

This is tycoons you and me have no clue what's going on, they are killing art and destroying deserving artists around the 🌍 world 🌎, i am less worried now as I knew I am only hitting my head against the wall
Let all celeberities of Hollywood, Uk Europe do art and auction for billion of dollars pounds euros they will be future da vinci picasso degas sergeant monet etc thank you for deleting all other artists from the face of the earth 🌍

he's got loads of resources, I don't even have a studio and a proper store for my heap of paintings
@@MakhdoomSadiqKhan what i mean to say is that the earths resources should be used by those that can use them the best. let him make music and let me paint pictures. hes rich but we only have one earth and every human has to live on earth.
