I would like to make a comment, 'Not every new house/apartment in US build requires Solar panel installed', there is no law requires this in US yet. I heard California was trying to put this as state law, but not finallized yet.
Natrium reactor is the world's first of its kind. Gates call it a demonstration reactor. 345mega watt (modest size) It is nowhere near ready for prime time even when completed. I do wish him all the success. The only new US built reactor (Vogtle in Georgia) took 15 years to complete. Now that they have completed one, the building know how is there at least for this particular type of reactor. Natrium reactor is a different animal again, so it's a brand new learning curve on the construction of it as well as the regulatory requirements. For wind and solar, there is local politics (nimby, cost of real estate), international politics (made in China). So too many variables to have an realistic accurate projection. Difference between China and the US is that when China wants to build nuclear/ solar / wind, it is done. In a western democracy like US, too many political variables to consider.
