I imagine that you must be just as surprised as the rest of us when the grain shows up. This time is no different. Between the color of the cedar and the grin of the wood, I would be happy just to look at it for a while. I had an aunt with a candy dish very similar in shape, only it was beaded milk glass. Yup, very happy memories of that.

I just recently started watching your videos so I am slowly playing "catch up" on the previous ones. I love turning cedar for the aroma. you may have figured this out by now but when you assembled the fan, you should have put the lock washers, or split washers as they are sometimes called, under the nut, not the head of the bolt. Their purpose is to keep the nut from loosening up due to the vibration of the fan. I'm sure I will enjoy watching all your other videos. You have good technique. I have been a wood turner for a long time but I can always learn something from watching others.

Oh you did it now, questions to answer. RPM -- do what us Minnesotans do, "She's turning 800 revs". Candy bowl, oh whoa, deep flashbacks to wonderous times. Grandma had an Emerald Green one made from Crystal. The lid and the bowl both had a saw tooth shape so the lid would mesh with the bowl. Always had it filled with Butter Mints. Thank you for bringing that set of memories out of the dusty archives of my memory. Nothing is better than Grandma's house. Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to 😎😎😎🙃👽👽

About 75% of my turnings are from cedar and no matter what you make from it, it always comes out beautiful. The only problem I find with it is the sanding dust, it is so fine you must use a respirator (you always should anyway) and the dust just seems to float in the air and go everywhere more so then any other wood that I have worked with.
The glass candy bowl you were referring to, my mom had one that was green and had indented diamond pattern all around the sides of it. She had a whole set of it and it was called Carnival glass, they made it in green, yellow and orange. If you search on Ebay for Carnival glass and look it may help refresh your memory

I was wondering why it was called the teardrop bowl, and was very pleasantly surprised by your solution to that little knot. Love the cedar, it's beautiful.

I enjoyed watching your video. The cedar bowl is really nice. The side of it are just right. Not to thick. R.P. M. Is revolutions per minute. Have a wonderful weekend and stay safe.
