Thanks for watching! This was a highly requested video so I thought it was time to make an updated guinea pig routine as so much has changed since my last one. As you probably noticed from the video, the guinea pigs have a new cage! This is because they just weren't using the space in the large cage and it seemed a waste; the reason we made the previous cage so large was because we just put all the sows together for the first time and we wanted to reduce the risk of them fighting by giving them more room however they all started to get along very well after introducing Bramley and I thought that it would be more practical to make the cage a little bit smaller - it is still large enough for 8 guinea pigs as it is 7x5 grids so they have plenty of space.

Please note: The fresh vegetables that I feed my guinea pigs are different each day so this was just an example of what I feed them on one day but it varies all the time.

Awww! The guinea pigs are so cute! GUINEA PIG FEAST! Haha. It's seems very convenient that you have a plexi-glass window/door, so they can see and when you open it, they can go in and out as they please! =) I love watching the guinea pigs in the background. ;) Lovely set-up! You're guinea pigs are so well taken care of and spoiled, you are the best pet owner! This video was awesome!!!
Hey, youre doing a great Job! Here are some tips I learned when I had guinneapigs:
1. If available, feed more grass and herbs instead of vegetables! Vegetables are great, but grass and herbs are even better.
2. Try to give the water in a bowl instead of a bottle. Bowls are more hygene because easier to clean, they are more natural way to drink, too. You can Place them on flat Plateaus for example, that the dont get dirty that quick. Try to find a big and heavy bowl, that they cannot "replace"
3. You Maybe know that, but carrot green and cellery contains lots of calcium and I would not give that much from it a day (had Bad experience with it myself)
4. Try to Cut the veges in thin and long pieces, because that is the most natural way to Eat for a guinneapig (grass and herbs are long and thin)
These are just small advices, do What you want with them ;)

My Guinea pigs lived on our landing for about 5 months with a hutch and an extended area which didn't have a roof but we only let our dog through when we were there to supervise otherwise he couldn't get through because there was a stair gate But he actually made friends with my guinea pigs and they always came running up to him and he would smell them and wag his tail and get really excite so maybe you could use a stair gate where your dog can't see them

+Unknown Anon Thanks so much! Just a quick bit of advice.. I'd recommend getting just a pair of males, three males don't usually work out very well and it's much easier to care for a pair of them :)

They are best kept in pairs or groups - if on their own they can become very lonely or even depressed.

You should always have at least 2. They are pack animals, and get lonely, depressed, stressed and scared if they're alone. I plan to get 2 once i move into a bigger place.

Where's the cuddle time???....GPs love cuddle time!!! We have 4 girls, 4 boys and we take them out for one hour girls then boys. They go on my bed, with a 3x3 "chuck" under them and we rub bellies, scratch necks and ear pads while they close their eyes and curl up. We could just feed and care for them but that would have us miss out on an extremely affectionate animal and, frankly, a lot of fun.23 hours a day, they are little "moo cows" and eat, sleep run around as herd animals.For one hour a day, they get to give and get a lot of great affection!
+sean fay It's all down to opinion at the end of the day. Personally I prefer to let my guinea pigs live a more natural lifestyle as a herd and it is not necessary to cuddle them - I'm not saying that it's wrong, but I think it is healthier for them to live naturally.
+sean fay I doubt they'll hold it against you if you forego the cuddle time. They're usually cooperative with human efforts to show such affection, but that doesn't mean they crave it. Some human oowners don't even offer them a small house or tunnel where they can run and experience the protection sought by a prey animal. Cudlling them amounts to another predator invading their space.

GP don´t cuddle, pls don´t do this to them... you need to inform you right. Maybe not on pages in your country...because most of them don´t know it better :/
Great video! Few questions! Are you an early riser? Everyday 6:30am? Wow you are amazing. Also if the dried grass normal grass dried? If so how to do this? Or is it just a packet brought bag? If so what type and we're is it from? Also does your piggies have dried food? I love the way you look after them you are amazing thanks xx

I feed my Guinea pigs pellets from Oxbow... I'd recommend you feed them some type of pellet. As long as it doesn't have any seeds, nuts, or alfalfa hay (if their adults).
+Salem Ross Oxbow is one of the best brands. I use their products for pellets too.
