Our Korea adventure vlog is finally here!
We visited Seoul for 5 days back in April with our friend from Canada, Kevin, and it was the first time for all of us! (except for Tracey but she was too young to remember anything so we guess it doesn't count ;P). Hope you'll enjoy seeing Seoul with us!

That would be a really good sequel. I definitely was not expecting that ending....and yes being the big girl that I am it did bring a tear to my eye...which continued with them singing through the tunnel

It's my dream to visit Seoul, Korea. Some areas are so peaceful but at the same time it's a very busy city. I love how its a mixture of korean culture (you'll find many restaurants that make you sit on the floor and rooms where you sleep on the floor, people in hanbok) and modern living (expensive and beautifully designed restaurants, cafes, malls etc) I just want to go there someday.
Totally agree with what you've said! It's definitely very different than the other Asian countries we've been (Japan, Taiwan, etc.). Seoul is quite affordable and very travel-friendly as well. I loved Korea when my family and I went! We were lucky enough to be able to see Park Sung Woong at the Seoul or Namsan Tower!
I just had to laught a lot at 10:47 because there is a German sign with "NEIN DANKE" on the upper half of the building.
It means NO THANKS in English, what makes absolutely no sense... 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Awesome vlog! I just got back from Pyeongtaek, South Korea about 5 days ago. I loved it there even though I wasn't able to visit Seoul. I definitely miss the food, the shopping and the culture. Great place :)

fares on buses and trains are integrated in Seoul.
don't forget to tap out when you get off buses - that way, your next bus ride may be free (fare is distance-based, you pay the minimum when you get on, and pay additional fare only if you exceed the minimum fare distance (10 km, i think))

Hi Rubie! We can't wait to go back to Seoul! It's actually much cheaper to travel there (flight, hotel, and spending) than to visit anywhere of Japan (flight/bullet train, hotel, and spending). That's why we have only been able to travel outside of Japan so far haha! Hope you'll try out all the food in Korea when you guys visit. They are all SO good! - Thomas & Tracey

It's actually way cheaper to do so than to take a bullet train to Osaka/Kyoto (plus the accomodation and food were all cheaper than Japan standards). That's why we have only been traveling outside of Japan.. travelling within Japan is just too expensive for us! - Thomas & Tracey

I am so glad you enjoyed the South Korea. South Korea is so fun, safe and many things to do. Incheon airport have awarded the best service in the world 7 consecutive years. Top of that people are real nice specially rural area. Next time you visit, I am sure you will be soon, visit different cities other than Seoul. Visit historical places and do many different activities. They have so many fun stuff. I love your video.
Incheon Airport are the best ever ! I always go to the airport early just so I can spend time there everytime hahahaha.... I use the same telco too for the wifi egg. You should have bought the card and reload it at the machine which is way more easier.

Korea is very easy to visit from Japan I think; it's so quick! Hopefully I'll have the opportunity to do so too ^^

The flight was surprisingly cheap! If you don't pick the high season during July-August or Christmas-New Year, the round-trip flight from Tokyo to Seoul can be under $150USD! which is why we decided to go to Seoul instead of travelling within Japan... $150USD can only buy us a single one-way ticket on the bullet train to Kyoto :( - Thomas & Tracey

When I visited there, I got a 10 tourist transportation card at the airport. It really is a good deal since I used the subway a lot. Though mine had the option to add money so it could be used in convenience stores, I didn't add that on.

Korea is definitely cheaper than Japan!! Everything from food, shopping, transportation, etc are all about half price of Tokyo's standard. Hence why we decided to go!
The whole trip to Seoul including the round trip flight (less than $200USD) is cheaper than a trip to Kyoto if we were to take the bullet train and stay at a nice ryokan (bullet train is already $150USD One-Way, or $300USD round-trip)!!

We always recommend Airbnb to travellers that are on a budget or want to experience the local way of living in a real apartment or house. We've had only good experiences with Airbnb's but you should always be careful and check the reviews of each property so you can be sure that it'll be a good fit. Hope you will find something great! I just read an article that says Seoul is the 8th most expensive city for cost of living, but is everything there really about half price of tokyo's standard? Does that even make sense...?

This is sooooooo fuckin' nostalgic. This video gave me the unicornly nostalgic feels when I was in Seoul two and a half mos ago. I wanna go back this year or maybe next. Btw, What made you decide to stay near Hongdae rather than Myeongdong vicinity?

When we researched about Seoul we read that Hongdae is a cheaper area because of all the university students. ;) Shopping was definitely cheaper than Myeongdong and we found it much more relaxing to walk and explore than the busy touristy Myeongdong! I read online that banks also have money exchange but would you still suggest to exchange money in S. Korea? (From the U.S)
The bank exchange rates in Japan were not good at all unfortunately .. Not sure about U.S. though! But the rates from the exchange place we went to in this video was just awesome so maybe exchange a bit in the U.S. (just enough for the first day if you can't make it to Myeongdong to exchange) and do the rest in Korea!
