EG was the first person to invent the seduction on a tiger skin rug, in front of a fire. Did appalling hurt to tigers and bears - but she was the Jackie Collins/ Shades of Grey of the Edwardian and onwards period, if I recall correctly. I once could have told you the name of the novel that scene was in. I never read her novels, but I like interesting facts.
