It's not about whether impeachment will actually succeed or not. It's about not standing by and watching as the Executive Branch decides to declare itself above the law, and above our other branches of government. These are co-equal branches and there are checks and balances. Time to remind the White House about that fact.

@OYA - It seems like you do not understand what the Framers meant by checks and balances. There are also separation of powers, which is what this issue is about. The Congress does not have power to limit or control the conversations that the executive has with foreign leaders.
@Donna Dayle - How exactly is the Trump admin catering to Putin? Were they catering to him when the gave Ukraine offensive weapons to fight off a Russian invasion (which Obama refused to do)? Were they catering to Putin when they attacked Russian and Syrian troops to enforce the "red line" that Obama refused to enforce? Or maybe when the Trump admin placed missile defenses in Eastern Europe to ward off Russian aggression (which Obama refused to do). Or maybe Trump was catering to Putin when he placed several layer of sanctions on Russia (which Obama again refused to do until his final month in office despite knowing Russia was trying to meddle in the 2016 election)? Who are we to Judge when something is made more clear to someone? I thought it was, "As long as you see and to see before it's too late!"
