    Funny you posted this video, just got done loading up to fish a tournament in a friends boat and threw some Tokyo rigs in my bag , been catching fish on a wobble head and I'm down to one last wobble head and thought a tokyo would be a suitable replacement, also I like to use two tungsten weights also but I put a glass bead in between , btw early congrats on hitting 100,000 subs , you def deserve it

    Tyler first off I like to say great video really enjoyed the content I learned something from you and that brings me to my second point for a younger aged angler like yourself you're very knowledgeable and very informative and other anglers like myself even though I'm an experienced angler I still can learn from you and that's the thing a lot of these younger folks nowadays don't realize is you can learn from anybody you can learn from the old guys like Roland Martin or a randy blaukat ya know guys like that and you can also learn from younger guys like yourself and I hope I really hope that everybody is actually taking his information that you're giving away to heart because they don't realize all the work that goes into it. your learning this to give t0 other people you have to think about it then you have to come up with it go out try It out trial and error learn where it works where it don't and then you present it to us all wrapped up in a package nice and neat and I for one really appreciate it thank you sir please keep putting out great wholesome informative content like you do also keep killing it out there on the water much appreciated much respect thank you

    That is the first positive review of the Tokyo rig I’ve seen. For financial reasons, I’ll stick with drop shots (using lightly crimped split shot) but maybe with the weight closer to the bait.

    I've been using them for a couple of years up here in Washington One thing I love doing with the Tokyo rig is place a glass bead between my weights for a different sound it seems to get me some extra bites. This year I caught a 5lber. My friend was on the front of the boat pitching a jig while I was on the back pitching the Tokyo rig. Love them.

    The first time I fished a Tokyo Rig, I became a beliver. Fishing the shoreline in the back of a shallow cove, I caught one bass on a Berkley General. When I fished the exact shoreline ,using the same bait on a Tokyo Rig, I caught thirteen. I cannot explain why it made a difference in such shallow water (1 to 2 ft.) but it did.

    I normally bend the wire just to the side or make a loop I find it sticking out to be problematic with catching weeds

    I’ve made it a point to put down the Texas rig this year and go with a Tokyo rig all year. I’ve even gone as far as naming my own rigs with longer stand offs.

    I know my buddy like fishing that rig & catch's fish on it. I haven't bought any yet. How much of a difference is there is a short litter drop shot vs the Tokyo rig? It would b good to see an underwater comparison to see the difference.

  • @ericsh8576
    @ericsh8576 Před rokem +1

    When I bend the wire to hold my weights, that bend tends to hook on to the vegetation. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

    • @BassFishingHQ
      @BassFishingHQ  Před rokem +4

      Bend it all the way around to make a loop for vegetation

    • @rayfernandez5949
      @rayfernandez5949 Před rokem +1

      I bend it just enough to hold the weight , then it tucks up in the recess of my weight . When you bend the tip into a loop you lose a longer piece of the dropper . IMO

    • @ricksonora6656
      @ricksonora6656 Před rokem +1

      I lose too many rigs to snags. To save money, I use a dropshot. I use a lightly crimped split shot. Replacing a split shot is a lot quicker and cheaper than replacing a whole rig.

  • @elizabethz569
    @elizabethz569 Před rokem +1

    Honestly, not a fan of this rig. That is all.
