Leslie Hunt: "Stay for the Ending" combines two themes with one metaphor: the ever-shifting, omnipresent threat of COVID in its many forms, and also a person who you grew to trust only to find out that they were mutating to fit the mold of what they thought you wanted. It’s about ghosts and flames, smoke and deception.
When I heard the demo of Andrew’s new song, I could not wait to sing that chorus melody and perform it with the band. It’s so powerful and catchy and I knew it would be insanely fun to wail on. It's probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to sing in my life but it also caused me to expand my range and now it feels easy and awesome to perform.
Andrew Lawrence: In writing this song, I tried to fit within the existing D97 canon while also adding my own twist. I kept the form of the song pretty simple so that we could focus more of our energy on getting these very difficult unison lines as tight as possible. It's been a pleasure hearing this song evolve, and I've loved the personality that all of the other band members have added to it.

My "Discovery Of The Year 2023" 🙂. District97 has a very tasteful sense of bringing complex harmonies and rhythmic structures together with strong and beautiful melodies. If you like the old Genesis, Yes King Crimson and ELP as well as the complexity and sound of Dream Theater, Rush and Transatlantic, but want something new and fresh (!), here you go.

WOW WOW Whhh Uhhhhh WOW!! This band is STELLAR personified. Amazing musicality up the ying yang. Prog rock at its best for sure. Oh and one goddess of an incredibly awesome singer. Thank you for making the space between my ears the most magical place to live.

I am always amazed at Leslie's dazzling stage presence, moving to the most UNDANCEABLE music ever written!!!!!! These guys are some of the best musicians on this planet. I wonder if they might enjoy simplifying things a little bit, more epic and less intricate. Might grow the audience a little bit.

And Leslie Hunt is once again nonchalantly, effortlessly, underlining that she is without a doubt among the greatest female vocalists of all time. the whole cd is stunning with a lot of experimental sounds and textures . I didn't expect something like this but this is intoxicating and refreshing . Very catchy guitar riffs and lavish production make this cd unforgettable . I wish you the best for this one!!

Jim Tashjian! THAT is the Guitar "Tone" I've been DIEING to hear all these years! :D That is the tone that totally fits your bands music. But man! What a solid track, from all involved! And Leslie is just astounding as always, keeping up with all the crazy changes and busting a move to all of it :D.
Hearing the album release show at Martyr's, the words that came to mind were "aggressive" and "dynamic". I've been to a dozen District 97 shows, and they are always aggressive and dynamic. But this new album takes those qualities to the next level. Damn!

Great video! Received the CD on Saturday and it's living in my car CD player. Hoping you can get nearby MD again (like Orion Studios, Recher Theatre or Progstock 2024). On a side note, Tim - I really enjoy the TS3 CD I picked up last year.
Thanks for my Kickstarter goodies - this has been on constant replay in my car CD player. I think this may be my favourite D97 album since TWM. Has to played loud for maximum effect.....
