I don't care what anybody says (including Dave Meltzer) about the main event it is a 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ classic for me. I almost cried when the ref counted 3 arguably one of the best WrestleMania main event in a long time.
Yah i dont like cody much. As of now. But it might be 6 stars . Imo wwe had to send roman off strong they did. They made cody look strong. But its 6 stars because of this. Not only did people cry. Which is RARE. But they kept me and many old plus new fans wanting more that never happened before... tell me one time besides tonight that happened
Cody finished his story on my 24th Birthday. I had off work both days, without planning it. The stars aligned and this was one of the best gifts I could have been given. Movies don't make me cry, but wrestling does.
Yeah, I was there live, in the linc. It felt unreal to say that as it was my first mania, this Mania was the best ones too. I will never forget this for the rest of my life.
There was so much storytelling brilliance during the main event it was unreal. Both John Cena and the Undertaker, two men Roman has beaten at points in his career, coming out to save the day. Seth literally being Cody’s shield and taking the brunt of the damage. Roman being unable to let his hatred of Seth go and that proving to be his undoing. It was brilliant. This felt like the closing of a book, just like it should. I’m not going to say that making Cody lose at Mania 39 was the right call, but I will say we don’t get this “Avengers: Endgame” style moment without it, and that was truly awesome.
39 was just like the ending of infinity war and everyone was left confused, sad, and or upset and thought no way that was the end. But didn't know how it was just the set up for a almost perfect ending which was 40s main event. If stone cold and Brock could have been able to be a part of it that would have been perfect.
Even though I wasn't there, this mania still meant so much to me. This was an amazing story, and it's bittersweet that it's now finished, but honestly, Cody deserved it.
I like how polar opposite Drew and Seth’s entrances were The bright colorful extravagant almost mocking Drew In contrast to the dark simple and almost elegant entrance of Drew himself I think made for a great hidden element of storytelling
Just wanted to say TY to you and your hard work. You inspired me to start my own Pro Wrestling channel. So once again TY for your dedication and perspective, keep killin it dude!
I was really hoping to see Stone Cold stop the Rock. Austin/Rock throwing down during the main event of WM in Philly... AGAIN! What a moment that'd have been.
I think the night 1 main event was definitely better than expected. People thought Rock wouldn't be able to go longer than a few minutes, nor that he could handle the spots that he did, but it was excellent. The slow pace at the beginning was kind of a tribute to the old wrestling style, almost chain-like. Cody and Seth took it to Rock and Roman pretty good. The people's elbow counter into a Cody Cutter was golden, too. The finish made a lot of sense and kept everyone looking equally as strong.
At the end of the day, I do think night 2 really amplified the quality of both shows. Arguably the greatest main event of all-time (to each their own opinion). I had a mighty good time watching family vs. family & friends collide. Satisfying victory for Cody!!!
Sometimes you come across like a real killjoy. The Tag match at Night 1 was brilliant. Just the right kind of chaos, and I was surprised when I realised how long it had gone. Maybe it's different being cold in the stadium, but on TV it was great.
iyo sky was amazing last night, tbh i feel bad for seth but i feel like their building up for a heel turn. night 1 was iffy, but night 2 was for sure the best wrestle mania ive ever watched. Me and my family were jumping! Also you sound a little sick sooplex so if you are i hope you feel better soon!
forget about TK (Tony Khan), (Dave) Meltzer & his pal, Bryan (Alvarez); some people that they are "5 (golden) star" Clowns. WrestleMania 40 (day 2) was pure Cinema. Yup.
The CROWD was much much LOUDER on Night 2. Speaking of the Main Event & the whole NIGHT 2 SHOW, it was just one of the best Nights ever. All the matches were so good & contained so much QUALITY. And, the Main Event was just BEST OF THE BEST & absolutely breaking all the limits of INSANITY. ROMAN & CODY just showed why they are THE TOP GUYS for a reason. CODY GOT THIS STORY FINISHED. NOW LEADING THE COMPANY INTO THIS NEW ERA AS ITS FACE, CODY WILL BE HAVING NEW FASCINATING STORIES!!!
SOOPLEX hope you see this but just wanted to let you know that you're in Cody's tribute video they played on Monday Night Raw.. and I'm sure someone from WWE knows who you are.. Dude you're a part of the pro wrestling lexicon and culture.. I marked out seeing you on that video gang..
I kinda like the poetry Seth the story. In a move to further his own interest, he created the monster that was Roman reigns. There that night you sacrificed everything to correct that instinct and put down the monster he created. Actually believe that if Roman wasn’t blinded by revenge, Cody would not have gotten that opening, he needed to win. Seth kept his promise became Cody‘s shield that night. Cinema.
Even so, you could tell the crowd was bored, because apart from the people infront of the cameras, everyone looked miserable like they were forced to be there
I think I'd personally give Iyo vs Bayley a 5-5.5*. Wonderful match that I was happy they went with. Being there to see Bayley win The Rumble and having her actually complete the Rumble winners spot was beautiful. I'd probably give Cody vs Roman a 6*. I've only given three other matches that high so they're in good company with Osprey/Omega, Kairi/Mayu 2022 and Mayu/Syuri this year. Just everything about it was wonderful and they went balls to the wall for 20 minutes before the shenanigans actually started and those were the most fun run ins ever. I gotta give it up to Roman too because he gave so much to this match and Cody. He put Cody over bigger than anyone could.
Wrestlemania 40 is quite possibly the best Wrestlemania of all time. The greatest even. The execution and consistency in storytelling has been immaculate. The payoff was immensely satisfying. A fabulous bookend to a saga that has been going for almost four years now. Cody finishing his story has got to be quite possibly the greatest moment in wrestling history and I’m not even a fan of Cody. So many WTF/OMG moments to process. The rock & taker, Cena obliterating Solo, Jimmy & Jey, Rollins coming out in shield gear. Drew getting his comeuppance by Punk and Priest cashing in. What a spectacle. What a main event and one hell of a Wrestlemania for the ages. Greatness on a different level. ☝🏿 ☝🏿 ☝🏿🙌🏿 💥🔥💯
I was there and while i was leaving, i walked past 6 people crying AT LEAST. That shit was fire Also, crowd 1 was just bad. We were outside for night 2 and night 2 was hella loud
10 years. 10 frickin' years. That's when this story started, and it's technically not over, not until Roman and Seth finally decide to make up and mend the brotherhood. This story essentially spans the Infinity saga - it MIGHT actually be a longer story than the Infinity saga?
I thought Seth Rollins was gonna get Daniel Bryan treatment 😂 but he kicked out, it kinda make sense the way the match went cause he’s banged up from tag team match and being workhorse champ
My ratings: Drew vs Seth: ⭐️⭐️⭐️3/4 Pride vs Final Testimant: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ LA vs AJ: ⭐️⭐️⭐️3/4 Logan vs Kevin vs Randy: ⭐️⭐️⭐️3/4 Bayley vs Iyo: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 Roman vs Cody: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If u really follow wrestling and u didn't cry , your not human .... I watched with a buddy that doesn't follow wrestling too much and I got to yell at him "with a tear in my eye!!! With a tear in my eye!!"
I’m tired of hearing about the weather. Don’t y’all realize they play football in that stadium and it gets deafening???!!!!! And 48 degrees? Man stop it😂
I completely disagree with the idea that the Main Event made Cody seem like he can’t beat Roman by himself. John Cena was the only run in that actually hit Roman, everyone else just attacked the others of the bloodline.
People need to stop making this outside stadium excuse how long have they been doing mania in outdoor stadiums and this was never an issue before? The crowd was very dead
The ending with seth and roman, felt like seth was there to take roman down with him. And roman chose rollins, roman may care about the bloodline but he will always choose the shield over everything else. Seth sacrificed himself to bring roman down into the depths with him.
Plus i also think I'm glad it was Taker instead of Austin coming in because of the more recent history with Roman that he's had and the run ins were literally People Roman has put down in the last decade, with Cena and Rollins in this run itself and then Taker right before all this started. Austin wasn’t part of that story despite being rivals with Rock. He would have felt out of place to me.
It was a classic dusty Spot! Heel locker room empty baby face locker room empty. Hit the ring - disappear after undertaker making him a mythical, mystical magical legend once again. THE GOAT UNDERTAKER had to show The Rock who is THE TRUE FINAL BOSS 💯
