ANTI-NOWHERE LEAGUE - SO WHAT
Promo Clip 1982
Lyrics:
So fucking what!
Well I've been to Hastings
And I've been to Brighton
I've been to Eastbourne too
So what, so what
Well I've been here
And I've been there
And I've been every fucking where
So what, so what
So what, so what you boring little cunt
Well who cares, who cares what you do
Who cares, who cares about you
You, you, you
Well I've sucked sweets
And I've sucked rock
And I've even sucked an old man's cock
So what, so what
Well I've fucked a sheep
And I've fucked a goat
I've had my cock right down its throat
So what, so what
So what, so what you boring little cunt
Well who cares, who cares what you do
Who cares, who cares about you
You, you, you, you
Well I've drunk that
And I've drunk this
And I've spewed up on a pint of piss
So what, so what
And I've had scag
I've had speed
I've jacked up until I bleed
So what, so what
So what, so what you boring little cunt
Well who cares, who cares what you do
Who cares, who cares about you
You, you, you, you
Well I've had crabs
And I've had lice
And I've had the pox and that ain't nice
So what, so what
Well I've fucked this
And I've fucked that
And I've even fucked a schoolgirl's crack
So what, so what
So what, so what you boring little cunt
Who cares, who cares about you
Who cares, who cares about you
You, you, you, you..
Punk, the only genre where a 144p video adds to the aesthetic instead of making it unwatchable.
There's also Black Metal in that category
Some videos are considered to good quality even in 144p for us black metal heads
I believe the still film skateboard promos and movies in 144p for that reaaon
Dedicated to them power walkers.
What do you expect if you only spend 144p ?
In my family we have a little tradition of always playing this on Christmas morning while we sip our sherry. Simply charming!
Best comment ever 😅
So what! :D
I might play it while I tuck into my plum pudding this year.
@Barney McGrew No, I meant it literally! Ha!
I read it as "Cherry" for a second and internally died inside until I reread it.
Buried my granny to this. Rip Nellie
now THAT made me laugh! :D
RIP Nellie, long live Nelliie!
I would've loved to have met nellie.
hahahhaha
got video from that?? grandpa was happy???
i’m old enough to remember when this came out. it was fucking GOLD then and it’s GOLD NOW.
Me too, and record shops being raided by cops for selling it
So what
I am only here coz I found my 45rpm single of this (streets of London B side)
I actually went to watch them live at skegness along with the Damned circa 1978/79
Funny thing is the lead singer daughter porsha was hot used to hang out with paris hilton for a bit if i remember who would have thought
Fun fact: this song is not labeled as explicit on spotify
Fuck Spotify!!!!!!!!
@@XXthekingofyouXX Pretty fucking funny though.
So what?
Pahahahahah
The Metallica cover is though
The Lyrics comes from the deepest part of his soul.
"and I've even sucked an old man's cock"
Oh what a charming, therapeutic song to adhere to, while I'm trimming ones roses in ones garden.
😆😂🤣
so what!!!
Trimming who's bush ya fucking bastard ? 🤣👍🏻
All those punk band millionaires now living in the leafy suburbs and having lunch with their bank managers are now doing this, whilst their fans are scratching around down the back of the sofa for a quid. Ha ha ha
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Can't beat a good ol' fashioned love song.
I'd love to hear Lemmy have a take on this! It would suit him to a tee!
+R.C Jones I thought he did, but now i'm not sure. I bet the google knows
+R.C Jones Lemmy's entire life takes precedence over this song. Would be great to hear him growling it tho! He MUST have sung it live at one point, even if it was in the bath. "You say you've got a massive mole, so what?"
+R.C Jones You'll be waiting a while now.
You got that right!
I see your comment is from august but it is one hell of a shame he died
I feel like this song should play every time right before somebody post something on Facebook.
They should play "I Hate People" in Tesco and Asda on a Wednesday!
Great idea.. I'll vote for it to be
I moved to Hastings because of this song.
So what?
Did you find an old man or a goat?
I first heard this song in a pub called the Queen Adelaide in Hastings old town, fuckin mental it was.
@Don't Care ive lived in brighton, too. so what
Didn't realize there was schlong and asshole in this video until just now. LOL
He does not need(He does not need) A microphone(a microphone) His voice is fuckin(Fuckin) POWERFUL!
PunkRobsSinema so fucking what
PunkRobsSinema I'm 3 years late but this is a beautiful tenacious d reference lmao
What I love about the Anti-Nowhere League most of all, I think, is that they look like villains straight out of a Mad Max movie!
14 years later...but Ive always thought the same. Animal looks like he belongs right in a Mad Max movie lol
Easy there Van Peebles@@friendlyfirefighter4645
Gotta love the Biker Punk look
Why oh why hasn't this been entered in for the Eurovision song contest?
All rise for the National Anthem of Facebook!
SweetDick Willie Pure Truth.
SweetDick Willie All the yes. If only this could confront all the irrelevant, puerile blathering of the facebook-o-sphere upon posting. "About to post, but first, please watch this informative video."
Props for the Do The Right Thing reference.
Six Seven Eight NEIN ............................
;)
Probably the best comment I have ever read in my life, nice one !
Perfect for sensitive, introspective music listeners the world over. I think they captured the spirit of a generation and recorded it for posterity.
Fabulous comment 😁
So what?
Kids and younger people would cry if they heard this.
So what?
Best karaoke song evar!!!!!!
mee bopp I do this for karaoke almost every time! Usually my last song because last caress always seems so tame after this song lol
@@ericmack9593do they have this on karaoke??? Mate im going karaokeing tonight!!!

I sang it last night.
Goes great at family reunions
::::gently wipes a tear from my eye::: such a beautiful song...
First dance at your wedding maybe??
This is REAL punk!
@BOB hey, Berklee McSmarts, he sure was talking about the values, not genre classification by the scene kid encyclopedia. Anyways, punk-rock is real punk, what else would be?
GG Allin is THE REAL punk!
They didn't know shit about punk till they started this band. They were just bikers who started a band for some gigs. The while story of this band is hilarious but they jam.
@@barthez6696 there is a reason nobody respects GG Allin...I mean anyone can roll around in faeces
@@barthez6696 GG is in the ground where he belongs
I hope this is classic somewhere in the world. This song not only fits in 2023 but just sound fire 🔥
Absolutely brilliant!!I loved this in 1981 and I love it now in 2008. I used to play this to shock my parents!!!And it did!!It still makes me smile now, its still pretty outrageous even in todays "anything goes" world. Super stuff.
should have known it in 2001 when i was 22 and in New Zealand in a host Family.. they didnt like my best of Soundgarden CD .... SO WHAT ?
What about now in this shit shower of a world.
ah 2008, the time before the Cancel

@@Eduardo-jc2ht Fuck metallica they've no patch on the League!!!
@@dangivens3643 SO WHAT???!!!
I saw this lot supporting The Damned back in the day. Best concert I ever went to. Chaos from start to finish. Two true punk bands one after the other. Both outsiders to the punk elite at the time but both miles better and more entertaining than the Clash or the Pistols. Long live the Anti Nowhere League.
I was there but can't remember where in London it was (palais?) Did Becky Bondage and Vice Squad support as well? Did the windows in the doors get smashed in the crush? I was in London waiting to get a coach to Geneva the next day and was walking over Hammersmith Bridge when I met 4 or 5 of my mates from where I lived 40 miles away. Talk about coincidence and they had a spare ticket. Result.
Was it 81?
@@Leigh-ry3yb so facking wot
People who post a map on Facebook showing where they've traveled to around the word.
greatest opening line ever: Well, I've been to Hastings, I've been to Brighton, I've been to Eastbourne too!
So what ?
I wasn't aware for a while, but I finally looked up where those places actually are, and it makes the line even better to realize it.
@dad 69 420 ಠ_ಠ ϟ Hastings, Brighton and Eastbourne are all within about 35 miles of each other.
@dad_-et9qcseaside towns on the south east coast of England, once thriving holiday destinations now they're like heavens waiting room.
I had the privilege of seeing them a number of times… First time they were the support act for the Dead Kennedys… the Venue I think. Almost no one in the audience he ever heard of them. It was like being electrocuted with pure energy and pleasure and violence. The set was so good that when the DKs came in they were vigorously booed with requests that the ANL come back on for an encore… which they did…..to shock a crowd of hardened punks. Not easy. But they did it.
Sorry for my bad english, but is this song about love?
Łukasz S No, lol. Search for the lyrics.
vidiac2012 he's being sarcastic dude 😂
Seems to sum up most of my relationships. So yes, it's about love.
Yes
vidiac2012 woooosh
This song always makes me happy.
I agree. I just found the original a week or so ago and can't get enough of these guys. They are the shit.
Best record ever released - should have been a number one!
This pumps me up it makes me feel empowered
He sings like an Angel
Animal has the voice of a London, Grizzled, Pissed off Angel
Just saw them last night in LA and they still kick ass.
I was first introduced to this song at 14 by a friend and camp. I thought I would outgrow it but I haven't. It's still just as funny as it was 25 years ago. I have had lots of rough times in my life and every time I need something to remind me how to not give a fuck so I can let go and smile again, this song has come to the rescue. It's better than therapy, and there are no words I can think of with to thank these guys enough for creating it.
Saw these twice at Bowes Lyon, Stevenage! Fcuking amazing live back in the 80's!
Bought this back in the day.... my dad was horrified ... Still love anwl
1st time I've heard it in over 20 years!! Still great!!
Absolute Masterpiece! Bravo ! Bravo!
Great to see captain sensible in there
The best lyrics ever written.
probably one of the best punk songs
ever concieved
its like a bucket list init ha ha
I so so wish rianna would cover this. Its such a romantic song of caring and understanding.
Doesn't get better than this.
Great band great tune !
Even melvins cant get guitar as sleazy as this. Love it!
Seeing them Saturday night , in Tunbridge wells a homecoming gig for them
Saw ANL back in the early 80's and this song and women always smashed
Tunbridge Wells's finest band.
Until Killdren.
The most honest presentation of a song to hit the (independent) charts
Still 2023 one of the best punkmusic ever made...loved it then and still love it.
Great!
lol this is so early 80's British punk it's unreal
"The ultimate weapon is an axe" said the band in 1981, in Sounds magazine.
When I was due to stay in a youth hostel, on my own, in the cold, cold winter of 1984, I said to my dad that I wanted to take the family axe with me, as protection.
"You can't t take the axe" he spluttered, "I need it it to chop up the family for the fire. Take the hammer instead."
So I did.
Saw these live in Reading ,great night
Lived it love it . met them all so What
Such nice quality.
I haven't heard this for years, but the theme was a standard joke with friends years ago. Love it.
Absolutely charming...👌
Unos de los primeros video clip que he visto en mi vida noventera
I love this typical british Guitar-Punk sound. Superb!
wow, i was into the antinowhere league around 1985, had their first 2 albums,
WHO DECIDED TO BRING THEM BACK!!!!!
Idk why but this cheers me up so much
People can say whatever they want. This song kind of made history. Period.
Seen em a few times in the mid 1980s. Most excellent!
Brilliant timeless tune
The ultimate punk song nothing quite like it before or since bounced about to this at the Brunel rooms Swindon 82/83 truly superb
Nearly 30yrs ago, a friend (Spike the Punk) played me this & I laughed so much I had to play it 2 or 3 times b4 hearing full song/lyrics, which I've referred back too many times when Cnuts need to hear their not the dogs bollox after all 😂😂😂❤
Hilarious, every line is a gem. Even within the punk scene they were outsiders due to their extreme political incorrectness.
Probably why they are still some of the best while other bands became thin-skinned corporate whores.
Use to know animal he was a doorman in Tunbridge wells in the early 80s funny bloke tbh
They weren't on the same level as Dayglo Abortions, though.
These days "punks" are nothing but political correctness.
Check out “The day the word turned gay”. Fuck political correctness.
Beautiful vibes! Feel the rainbow and keep it real!
Absolutely Splendid, Top Hole,Top Hole 🎩 💪
What a sound.
bring back the good old days
They never left
Saw em live at the Waterfront on Thurs 8th November in Norwich.still rockin after all these years.
The guitar work is genius!
This taught me to accept those that are not like me. You did what? So what.
rahmetli Lemmy's voice really could suit this song perfectly..
but it's sad he's in better place right now
I'm not sure about it, hell is a place for pain. But fairies wear boots thats sure.
Best concert I ever went to was Motörhead supported by ANL and Girlschool. Magic.
macp0333 It was amazing mate. Glasgow O2. 👌
Would love to hear Motorhead covering this song
Metallica did.
Tragic, an 11 year old comment. Lemmy's gone!
Great band 👌
Still brilliant 👏 👌
Seeing these live in an hour and a half they seem good!
I saw them open for the UK Subs in Vancouver. They only played for about ten minutes. I cannot remember who it was, but somebody stumbled and hit the stage. He got up and began to play again and then totally collapsed. He was then dragged off. The rumour went around the Commodore Ballroom that it was an overdose. All the same, The Subs put in a good show.
That was ANIMAL. I was there too. Flippin GREAT night.
So Awesome !!
This was a delightful accompaniment to my yoga session this evening. Thank you.
I feel like this is the perfect rebuttal to any gangsta rap song.
More more more better
Proper punk. Metallica's cover was great and pretty faithful but Animal's vocals are so raw
just realised this was uploaded 14years ago one of the first CZcams videos ever made
I'd like to dedicate this song to all my friends on Facebook
Best comment
one of the best gigs ive ever seen!
They got the inspiration for this song, at closing time in a bar. These two drunk guys were arguing about their sexual exploits among other things. They were trying to outdo each other, and after one guy would say something, the other guy would say 'So F****** what!'
Love it it ...
que chimba esta banda :D
Toy town punk, never took them seriously (don't think you're supposed to), but this and I Hate People are very catchy punk tunes.
Hark at you, thinking you're supposed to take punk seriously at all.
Laser Raptor the first wave of punk was very serious, in the UK at least.
I much prefer fun/comedy punk,it's like panto
Glad that this is still on youtube!
Apparently they wrote this after listening to two blokes in a pub trying to out do each other about where they'd been and what theyd done.
Seen em many times 👍
Derek and Clive!
amazing live!
opened up for them last summer!
