- Gorilla Shufai explores new enrichment toys at Twycross Zoo: suspended bridge, braided hose hammock
Gorilla Ozala is looking out of the window as the staff is putting up some new enrichment toy outside. A new little suspended bridge and there is also a new braided hose hammock. Ozala's son Shufai is the only one that is bothered and tries it out. It's a bit low to the ground and the straps look like they could be tighter. Shufai does the pull and push test and has a lie-down. Next, Shufai tests out the braided hose hammock. Asante had a quick sniff at the new enrichment but moves on. After lunch, the staff put the old round hammock from the inside outside. Unfortunately, this was quite low as well, and the inside straps were all pushed to one side. Hopefully the staff will get around and adjust it again. Shufai's dad, Silverback Oumbi, is getting some grass. A quick glimpse of Biddy in the back. It's nice to see her having more peaceful moments on my last visits. None of the other family members seem to bother her.

Shufai is quiet the character and has me laughing. Definitely he needs someone to play with…..without Lope there. Happy he’s giving Grandma Biddy a break.

It appears Ozala is starting to develop that 'regal' crown, on the top back of the head, that Biddy and most elderly females seem to 'wear' as they age

The **Hammock** thingys are fixed TOO LOW to the ground 🤷🏽♀️ or did the family members Inadvertently pull them down this way. 😊
No unfortunately they didn't put it high enough. I was hoping they corrected it, but sadly they haven't yet.

Shufai ist genauso wie sein Bruder Lope immer gern in Bewegungen es tut mir leid das die zwei Brüder getrennt sind. Ich finde auch Shufai brauchte einen der mit ihm herum tobt (Lope)ich liebe die zwei Brüder sehr .
Uh, is this what goes for enrichment at Twycross, looks like they raided the garbage dump and put this mess up haphazardly! Twycross needs to do better, don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining!! Glad you put this on blast SV, maybe this will embarrass them..😎
Yes it was quite poor. I hope it has been at least put up properly next time I'll go. The entire outside needs to be redone really. It's repairs here and there which isn't good enough. I think the staff is doing the best at their disposable. Management has a lot to answer for and before he took over there was talk about it being redone, but nothing since.😞
@@SloggerVlogger It's awful too put it mildly, they're not putting forth any effort, even the inside looks dilapidated. I feel sad for this family's living condition!

La solitude de sufai me fait mal au coeur . Il a de nouveaux enrichissement c bien d ailleurs il serait bien de les surélevés un peu.mais ça ne remplace pas un compagnon de jeux 😢. Est il vrai que sufai a été castré ???? Très triste 😢
