    I believe the bolt should have been inserted into the top hole of the battery connection, that way the battery cables are not pointing upwards...that is how mine is connected. The square nut fits correctly that way.

      Yeah I'm going to revisit this once I get my mower out for the season this year. Someone else said the same thing and the instructions do show it the way you're talking about. I'm not sure if you can post a picture in the comments here or not but if you can feel free to put one in of how you did it. Other than that if I find I have been doing this wrong I will post an update video about it this spring.
      Thanks.

    I just gave my 15 yo LA115 a new head gasket, and it's back to running like a champ, but I really like this Cub Cadet model. It's total overkill for my small property, but I appreciate the commercial looking stripes you get from a wider deck not to mention time savings. And I crave that commercial mower sound from the higher hp v twin. Should probably just do it.

    Dealing with many motorcycle batteries that are of similar size and terminal design there is a small hack you can use to not fight with that nut.
    Firstly I’m not sure without looking at the instructions of that tractor ( I don’t own it.. yet) if the terminals should be mounted vertically or horizontally but what you can do is shim the nut with something non conductive like a small piece of folded paper or cardboard to not only bring the nut closer to the terminal so you’re not chasing it around but also stabilize it.
    Higher quality batteries have threaded terminals where you don’t have to worry about chasing a nut around.

      So this is really strange. I had someone else ask me about the same thing and apparently I gave them the wrong information which I will need to correct. I thought mine did not have an hour meter on it but in fact it does. Maybe they changed something since I purchased mine last year. But if it helps, I purchased mine from Home Depot and the exact model number is 13AQA1TLA10. It says LT50 FAB underneath that number. Manufacturing date is 08/23. Hope that helps.

    If you start blowing the fuse, look where the loom folds over a metal bracket leading up to the ignition switch. Mine had a piece of slag right on the edge and shorted it out at 134 hours. Pulled the loom to the side and off I went.

    I have an XT1 46" (22hp v-twin Kohler), new exactly 1 year ago. These are a great mower. My last CC LT1045 46" lasted 14 years and was still going strong when I sold it for $500. My only complaints with the XT1 (and these may not apply to your model) are there are no grease fittings for the mower deck blade spindles and no grease fittings for the mower deck anti-scarf wheel shafts. So I expect my spindles to wear out prematurely, but there are new replacement spindles available from Amazon for $32 apiece and they have grease fittings. I know that I could retrofit my current fittings but I don't want to bother. Also once a year I simply remove the ant-scarf wheels and squirt some oil on the shafts. All-in-all a great mower. Mine has exactly the same engine oil drain setup as yours and it has worked perfectly with no drip. It came with an hour meter. Manual blade engage instead of electric.

    • @walleyspark
      @walleyspark  Před 4 měsíci

      Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm glad to hear your oil doesn't leak. As far as the grease fittings I don't think mine has them either other than on the 4 pivot points on the four wheels. My old craftsman didn't have them either in the places you mentioned and I never had an issue in the 15 years I owned it. Except for that darn tree falling on it! I'll probably do a follow-up video this summer when I'm using it more and go over some of this stuff that wasn't mentioned in the original video. Take care.

      I wanted to update you. Apparently I misinformed you. As I said, my mower was still stored so I couldn't physically look at it but someone else inquired about the same thing, the hour meter. So I got mine out just to be sure and low and behold it does have an hour meter on it. I'm not sure why some are being sold without one. The only thing I can do is give you my exact model information and hopefully you can contact whoever you need to to rectify this issue. Maybe they changed something since I purchased mine last year. But if it helps, I purchased mine from Home Depot and the exact model number is 13AQA1TLA10. It says LT50 FAB underneath that number. Manufacturing date is 08/23. Hope that helps.

      @walleyspark I ended up calling Cub Cadet and basically was told all new models won't come with the meter and need to be purchased apart.
      So, basically, the catch is that some stores will sell the same model but won't tell you from what year.
      And now a lot of stores are just scalping the part, selling it for a crazy amounts.
      Mine is also a FAB same model code as yours.
