    Those are great lenses indeed.
3 other favorites of mine are:
    - MD 75-150/4 (best zoom I’ve ever used)
    - MD 35/2.8 (insanely sharp stopped down)
    - MC/MD (5/5 formula) 100mm f/2.5 (one of the best bokeh lenses around)
    - Rokkor-PF 55/2 (incredibly well rounded lens, great colors, great build quality, great bokeh, great sharpness)

So glad I found your channel. It's hard to find Minolta shooters on youtube, so I'm very happy to find yourself.

you didn't size the 35mm f / 2.8. which I find is the clearest lens that Minolta has made.

The older MC Rokkor 50mm f1.4 looks a fair bit longer than this MD Rokkor X. And the 35-70 Macro looks awesome, would love to get one.

Excellent video Zachary!! A really wonderful Minolta MD/MC Collection, A real inspiration to start mine.
I will like to ask you which of your Minolta electronic camera has been more reliable, I'm in the process of getting a body to test the lenses. Thanks for the video.

Your video is so helpful for a beginner with Minolta like me. I’m looking for a wide-angle lens to shoot landscape, should I go with:
    1. 35-70mm f3.5 or
    2. 28mm f2.8
I personally think I should go with the 35-70, but my friend said that the zoom lens usually doesn’t have a big aperture, which is a down point, and it’s heavy too.
My lens now is a 58mm f1.4, and I love it, but I don’t think it's suitable for wide-angle shooting.

Minolta colors, aah… i only realized what it means since i started shooting 35mm film. I started collecting mdIII lenses with yellow feet scale. 28mm f2 has to be my favourite at the time. Also have the 35-70mm macro zoom.

I enjoyed the video but was surprised that you didn't state in your last lens that you didn't go in detail about the many version of the Minolta 58mm 1.4, ranging from the the MC 1, MC 2, AR C and AR 2? Have any expert opinions?

The Minolta 24mm F2.8 Is one of the best in class. Great for astrophotography as is the 28mm F2 Nikkor.

I have an X570 and I vaguely remember a few lenses available that had built in autofocus capability for use with non-af MD mount cameras. Am I dreaming or did such a thing exist?

It looks like or similar to the same optical design as my Pentax A 35-70mm. meaning it's probably a very nice zoom.

    Managed to purchase a few Rokkor lenses in a bulk lot. Beautiful lenses. I have 28mm f3.5, 50mm f1.4, 50mm f1.7, 58mm f1.4, 85mm f1.7, and 135mm f2.8. Did also include a 16mm fish-eye but I on-sold that as I wasn't enamored by the look.

I recommend replacing the Vivitar 28mm f2.5 with a Minolta 28mm f2.8, which are fairly common and of much higher quality than the Vivitar. You should be able to find a nice copy for under $50.

I believe all the Minolta 28mm lineup contain thorium and are radioactive. Some people don’t like dealing with that

If anyone wants to try a 135mm but dont want to shell out $100, the MD Celtic 135mm is a really great choice too. The aperture ring and focus finger-grips are plastic and rubber, but everything else is metal, even the built-in lens shade. For a supposed "economy" version they are very well build, focusing is as smooth as any other MD non-Celtic lens. All for $35-$45.

That 24mm f2.8 you have there shouldn't be slept on. Has a floating element in it that makes it very sought after...

Can’t believe you got rid of the 58. Sure the 50 is sharper but the 58 has this character to it that makes it and the 50 not comparable. The color reproduction is different. The bokeh is different. Besides both being “fast 50s” they’re very different otherwise

It’s crazy that I found these type of lenses at my house and have no idea how they got here lol. No idea the value or nothing 😂
