- 2006 Lexus SC 430 that got towed in from a body shop. Complaint was a cranking no start which helped narrow the diagnostic path rather quickly.
I know a lot of people would turn a job like this down and I don't blame them but I was looking for fresh challenges and this was definitely one.
This is also a new format for me, and something I am working on perfecting with each additional video. I definitely learned a lot during filming this.
Throw your questions, comments, and concerns down below and enjoy.
Great job , brave you are lol . Just for jumping in , yes you might of had easy access to the components . But clearly not the ordinary job , be watching for more to come .
Voltage Drop Diagnostics sent me. So far you have impressed me! You are smart and have a clear line of thought. Keep up the good work.
I appreciate it mark. PJ at VDD is a super awesome guy all around. I picked his brain a few times during this process. Great friend to have.
Hopefully you stick around and enjoy the content as it comes.
Very well diagnosed. Your step by step is a great format for many to follow by to help diagnose multiple issues. Great video. I'm the same way love the challenge
What a hot mess, sometimes it's easier this way but I prefer to get something before it's tore to pieces. Keep up the good work man.
I was a bit scared at first but then I realized it made my job easier in a way...I didn't have to tailor my test plan around ease of access.
I do generally prefer when they are all kept together but I make exceptions if I think it's an interesting case
Love how you covered the BASICS. Great Diagnostics, Chris. Big Thumbs UP
Thank you Jim. It's all about sticking to the basics, especially the more complex the problem seems.
9 out of 10 times it can be traced back to a basic fault.
New sub here.
I drive high mileage vehicles and do 95% of my own work.
I learn from videos like these.
Thanks for keeping it clean! I have an 11 year old and try to keep the garbage out of her ear shot! Believe it or not she can watch these with me.
Glad to have you on board Dan. I really do strive to keep it clean and professional. I will definitely be sure to maintain that standard so you can spend some time enjoying with your daughter.
You must like a challenge because not a lot of techs would take on a job like this. What a mess. What looks overwhelming at first becomes manageable with a good direction and wiring diagrams. That's what I learned (again) today. You guys make it look easy. Finding those crossed connectors was huge!
Absolutely Wyatt. I do love a challenge as well. I started to stagnate working for John Deere, and now being back in automotive full time, I am taking on every opportunity for a challenege.
This one I knew would be an excellent example of choosing one system at fault and moving forward from there.
Great video showing how taking a solid diagnostic approach is the best way through a huge mess. I wonder just how much time and money had been spent before bringing it to you. Got a new subscriber for sure 👍👍
Good job on that mess mate big thumbs up 👍 and power on
fantastic video, you handled a difficult situation very well. step by step, and focusing on the basics. well done mate!
Thank you David. Keeping it simple normally leads to the best results in my experience.
Great job Chris. Nice to see you working on cars. Looking forward to some more diagnostics. Thanks for sharing! 👍
Thanks for coming by Dylan. I'll keep the videos coming as often as possible
Great video Chris, scanner danner worthy
Very much appreciated Berg. I'm working on improving the content with each video.
Chris, excellent/Awesome what should i say more bravo and bravo indeed for taking this challenge on and learn lot from this video hope will see more like this one in near future about communication and immobilizers problems and thank you for showing the wiring diagrams too and how to read them. cheeeeeers and happy new year to u and yours.
Nice video. I really enjoyed you taking us along during the process. Thanks.
Thanks for watching John. More in the works.
Good explanation of your thought process. I'm a Lexus dealer tech. Never seen the switched connectors on that passenger dash junction block. But, I've seen the one connector left unplugged after an airbag replacement causing that symptom.
Interesting, I think there were multiple disassemblies done and it just got swapped at some point, not 100% sure.
The power and ground distribution is surprisingly well thought out. Makes it fairly easy to trace things down to test points.
Nicely done Chris! (And Cuba)
Thank you Richard. Cuba blew it out of the water by promoting. She's pretty awesome.
Great video
Thanks for coming by Manuel!
Great video chris!
Thank you Tommy! Glad to see you stopping by. 😁
As a way of saying, great job Chris at getting all the worms back in the can, lol 👍
Thanks Bob! I enjoy these challenges and getting the satisfaction of a completed job.
Great video. I tell everyone I like the longer videos More detail and information.
I'm glad to hear it John. I'm going to make these longer videos the norm, take more time to explain the various aspects of what is going on.
Awesome video looking forward to more
Thanks for watching Keith! With the new job I should be putting out content like this much more frequently.
2001ls 430 no crank no start battery is goo.Just put in a new starter still doing the same thing. No fuse blown . Man need help bad this is a nightmare for me
I made it. Thanks Cuba
Glad to see you Michael. It's an honor as always.
Hey, I knew it was going to be good. I think this is one of his best yet!
There was a blown fuse!! LOL
Body shops should do a better job of taking photos before they start disconnecting stuff.
Not sure the whole story, but it's a good example of why always checking the basics is so important.
