TrueBlogge777, yes just like a chip pan fire. The best thing to do is to part insert the burner into the firebox before lighting. Meth's is still safe, as long as folk follow the rules.
That's an idea, however, I wouldn't cut down a reasonable one. I'd pop over to the Mamod factory and get one of two shorter ones available. I really ought to make another drum winch for another T.E, then I could plough properly, well, of sorts anyway. I will be adding a pulley block in line in future to add a little more pull and reduce the speed.

Im working on one of these but my transmision is driven by pulleys. I'll make a video of one when im satified it all works as best as it can.

Really cool I was thinking you could get a TE1AK and get a second hand canopy of eBay and shorten it and turn it into a heavy haulage traction engine

Mine just seems unbelievably weak? Normally they go like idiots. Anyhoo, I have put a worm gear on the crank for a front winch :o)
teamidris suspect a duff piston or cylinder. What fuel are you using?
see if it can pull another mamod
I doubt it in it's present state. The drive belt would slip.
