from 1:57 to 2:30 you explained to me the right way to do it. for years I had trouble with drawing the right shape. *Thank you so much* for this video, you don't know how much you helped me. no one mention it like this, they all said Almond shape and I had hard time doing it. your video is the only one as I know who did it diffrently and explained it very well.

Even though I'm capable of photorealism, where my skill lacks is creativity. After a few years of just doing photorealistic drawings I noticed that I was never actually able to portray my own thoughts and ideas into an image and that I didn't want to just replicate anymore. I was never able to grasp anything in my drawing classes or from books, but your tutorials have helped tremendously! Thanks!
Callintz That's great. I'm glad it helpful. It's good that you've put in time into photorealistic drawings, because it'll help you be able to draw from your imagination. Without the traditional skills, your ideas will come out like crap, just like modern art=).
WeiWorks Haha, agreed! It's almost as if I went backwards. I was so focused on the precision and detail of my work that I forgot about the fundamentals. At the risk of making a bad pun, it's back to the drawing board for me!
I could have put this on any one of your videos, because all of the ones I have watched have helped me immensely. I said in January that 2018 was going to be the year that I actually started making drawing a habit and, so far, with no small amount of help from your videos, it definitely has been. It's not just the technical stuff, which is obviously key, but you're just so laid back too and it's sort of infectious. I've drawn a lot of crap amongst the good stuff, but rather than discarding it, I've kept it all and tried to find the good parts of it and replicate it while improving the bad parts - clearly it's an emotional game as well as a physical and technical one!
I've been sitting down with a pencil in hand 3-4 times a week since the start of the year now and have seen a notable improvement, rather than going through a spurt of drawing loads on a random weekend and being disappointed in the lack of any progress. And part of making that habit happen is looking forward to watching your take on things and drawing along with you. So really, I guess I just want to say thanks for making these videos. They've been useful and have made drawing a hobby I can really enjoy again!

Drawing the eye is the easy part for me. Shading it is the hard part. Not much for pencil but in pen....

im glad your channel exists, it gives me hope that i can be a good drawer aswell without having to fork out thousands for courses and the like.
Thanks. Yeah, you don't need to pay for course. Just keep drawing and things will come naturally. Trust me on this. That's how other artist get to where they are, it's just by practice. You might be able to accelerate your progress with course, but getting books and looking for free resources online is just as good in my opinion. Nothing beats practice.

oh, thank you so much. I am relieved to know that this area near the inner corner of an eye is a difficult one, not that I am just too stupid to draw it easily :)
=). It's very complicated. If you look at enough eye, you should be able to get a good grasp of the shape. But it's still complicated to shade.
