    Points one and two:
IMHO fortress is much better, because you don't have to check it so often. When you upgrade every single soldier to a general, because you forgot to evacuate your watchtower/fortress, when there were no privates left, you're wasting coins, because you're not upgrading all four ranks/soldiers at once.
Also you don't even need to train your soldiers in the same storehouse, where your soldiers are. You can train soldiers near the iron production area and let the privates walk to the storehouse.
Point 9: Farms need big building plot + five spots for fields. Which is exactly enough space for 2x2 grid. So instead of four small buildings, you build one farm. Ofcourse, it's still better not to do it the middle on the "highway", but you can keep the grid. I do this for other big buildings as well - you can fit f.i. pig farm, well and slaughterhouse into one 2x2 grid.

Hi @martinhribek3443. Great to get your point of view. Yes. Totally. A fortress makes life a bit easier for upgrading soldiers, but they don't fit my grid system! :D
Your second point, about recruiting privates in one place and sending them to a second place is a great one. You can set this up using the send/block commands for soldiers in your storehouses. I find I like to have everything military happening in one, but if your mint is a long way from your iron production, your advice is definitely superior.
And then point 9. Farms can fit the 2x2, but have you seen the optimal farm setup? We did a lot of work on how to get the most efficient farm setup and the road structure you need doesn't fit the grid I don't think... but I'd love to be proved wrong. Let me know if you find a good way to do this!

Oh man, tip 5... This got me so many times, especially after I play Settlers 3 (there you don't lose territory unless there's an enemy tower nearby).
I'll leave tip 10 for the speed-runners, too complicated for me, I just want to play and relax :)

I had heard this was true, but couldn't find the second one when I looked initially. Where is it?

@@ihlamur8461 It's behind the first one but its really difficult to get to; you can build watchtowers to scout the area
